We haven’t moved into the house yet but the experience with Sydes has been great so far. We had our final walk through with Mel Fowler yesterday and he was excellent. I was expecting a representative that would try to find as least deficiencies as possible but that was not the case with Mel. We were very encouraged with the way that he was finding minor deficiencies that neither my wife nor myself had noticed, and shared tips and advice on how to maintain the home properly. That shows that they care about the quality of the final product and that they want your new home to be as perfect as possible and satisfied with your purchase. We have not heard any negative feedback on A. Sydes in the area, unlike other builders we managed to avoid. We are very pleased with our choice with A. Sydes, and thank you again Mel for a great experience with the walkthrough.

I have purchased two different homes from this builder in Sneads Ferry and have been very happy with both. Courtney Carter, the builder's agent for both homes, has always been fantastic to work with. She is very knowledgeable and responsive which helped immensely with the purchase of our first home at the beginning of the pandemic and our second home during the housing boom that followed. I would recommend this builder to anyone in the area looking for a solid home with a well-thought-out floor plan and usable square footage.

By far the best and most memorable part was our new home orientation/walk-through with Mel. He made us feel right at home and cared for our house just as we would. Good day, my wife and I started our new home plans in February 2023. Our Realtor Mrs. Dana Thompson has been awesome. She has made every part of this transaction/transition seamless. The building supervisor Mr. David has been awesome as well. He noticed that I stopped by every day, greeted and informed me on the building process. This kept my wife and I worry free and prepared us for the future, because our home is almost done 2 months ahead of schedule. Lastly, we did our initial walk thru with Mr. Mel, he did a superb job explaining every aspect of our home and walked us thru every room as we identified areas of concern or correction. The discrepancies we found were minor cosmetics. The overall team of our realtor, A. Sydes Site Supervisor, the daily workers (which we would drop off water from time to time) and Mr. Mel has been an experience we will remember and cherish. That 1 star is for Mel Fowler. Like everyone else, we had a WONDERFUL experience with him during our final walk through. But I'm glad I waited to review the construction company as a whole.The issues that needed to be fixed were never done until after we moved in. This was 2.5 weeks later and we had to call them to remind them to fix things.Now that we have moved in, our yard was never seeded (though they claim it was), the landscapers never tilled the ground when they came back to re-seed and whoever is responsible for the soil selection needs to be fired. We have been picking up bucket handles, trash, and construction nails all over our yard and the landscaper cited the soil chosen as the issue. But I don't trust that response especially from this landscaper. We discussed this issue before moving in with A. Sydes as we were concerned for our dogs and small child that would be using the yard but our concerns were ignored. (They're just blaming the landscaper) If our yard had been seeded weeks ago (like every other house on the street), we would have some grass on AT LEAST 80% of our backyard but we have almost none. After we complained about our deplorable yard, they came by and threw seed on the packed down soil without any tilling or straw covering. Any reputable landscaper knows this will not yield a large return on grass growth and we have a huge yard just full of sand. Also, it was wonderful to drive up to our brand new home with yellowing sod, dead bushes and a dying tree while the house directly across from us got watered daily and looks immaculate prior to their move-in. They watered the yard maybe 2 days before we moved in and replaced the bushes because they were so bad off.Next up, our garage (brand new, right) DOESNT WORK!!! It was great moving in without the use of that area. Everything had to be carried through two doors to get into the garage. Called in the issue with the warranty department to find out the garage door company never heard from them 4 days ago when the issue was reported.All I can say is...we have a house. Totally not thrilled with our first time homebuyer experience, though. I would not recommend this company and I would not use them again in the future.I will update as we continue through our 1-year warranty process. Maybe they will reconcile some of our issues.

We have been in contact with A Sydes representativeHolly, in regards to maintaining the overgrowth behindout property. Which is causing weeds to come up intoour yard as well as wildlife. We have attempted toreceive some type of timeline from A. Sydes with noresults. We have been dealing with this issue sinceearly March and have continued to be disregardedand made feel as if our concerns are not valid. Wehave been giving no timelines or any expectationsand have been given the runaround on who the pointof contacts are for this issue for quite a while. ASydes needs to reevaluate their landscaping processin order to update homeowners accurately. This iscompletely unacceptable.

I purchased a new home back in 2022. I would not recommend this builder. There homes are built with very poor workmanship. They didn't even install the ceiling light fixtures on center. And when they finally reinstall then they had to repair the hole in the ceiling. Instead of hiring the proper person to do the knockdown ceiling they tried to fixed it themselves leaving a bigger mess. Since I would not sign off on it , it took them 4 times until they finally called the drywall guy to fix it. Plus there were several nail pops in the walks coming out which they said it was due to settling. After being in my home for over a year I decided to paint the walls since they used cheap flat paint. While painting we really noticed how bad the drywall was. Some spots were so messed up and uneven we had to smooth them out. And as for the pool and club house they talk about . There so calked clubhouse is just a building with restrooms. This list goes on. But if your looking for a quality home ASYDES is not the one.

I have purchased my brand new house from A-Sydes! They were always treating me like family and taking care of all repairs without hesitation. In my eyes my home is perfect and couldnt recommended a better home builder then A-Sydes! While i was moving there was an incidence where i struck a vaccant home with a uhaul. A-Sydes without any doubt said dont worry we will take care of it no need to charge you accidents happen i personally feel if it was anyone else they would of ran my wallet dry. I cant stress it enough how good these folks are so down to earth and understanding quick in accomplishing repairs with quality. The world needs more companies like A-Sydes!

Prior to purchasing my home in 2020, through C&C, in Wylie Branch, I was informed there would be a pool in the neighborhood. The representatives reached out to A.Sydes to ensure this was indeed true and they responded with a YES, there would be a pull installed in the neighborhood. At the time my kids were 12 and 14. Almost three years later, there is not a pool and based on what I’m seeing and the lack of progress, I have a feeling there will not be a pool before my children are both out of high school (2025 & 2026). If I had known this, I would have never built a home in this neighborhood.When I initially signed my contract to have my house built, I was contracted for a different lot. A week later, it was brought to my representative’s attention by A.Sydes that the lot I had already put a down payment for and signed ALL the paperwork for had been sold. It was a disaster and a hot mess. I should have know then, the company wasn’t as professional as they make themselves out to be. I still to this day believe I had purchased that lot prior to the family who currently lives on that day, but since A.Sydes are the builders of the neighborhood, they were able to do what they did and I had to end up choosing a different lot. What I should have done was happily taken back my down payment for that specific lot and went somewhere else.If you’re not going to install a pool, don’t advertise it. Both of my children were looking forward to the pool and unfortunately, we don’t have the money to get a private pool for our backyard. I already have plans to leave the neighborhood when both children are don’t with school. The neighbors I’ve met are great. The children are wonderful. My problem doesn’t lie with anyone in the neighborhood, mainly because I’m a homebody. But with the builders not keeping to their word and there’s even more.If you want to be a builder in a neighborhood. Do more than just build homes. Provide the amenities you advertise about. Clean up the areas by keep the grass cut in the common areas. Do your part. That’s what makes a business professional and successful. Not just the house you build, which from what I’ve heard, there are mistakes there too in a few homes. But I can’t answer to that since I didn’t want my house built by A.Sydes.Thank you for your time. I purchased an A. Sydes Construction home during the Summer 2023 - I could not be more pleased. The design of the house and the overall building quality exceeded my expectations. More important than the house itself, the interactions that I have had with the employees, builders, and others made this experience better than any home-buying experience in the past. Most notably Paul (Superintendent) along with Scott & Holly (Warranty) were exceptionally professional and addressed each concern or question that I posed to them. I’m just so disappointed. I am a detail oriented person which is why I was excited to purchase a new construction home so it would be a clean slate with new paint, doors, baseboards, etc. No wear and tear or damage. I knew it wouldn’t be perfect however I was not expecting there to be so many flaws. This is the sloppiest work I’ve ever seen. We are service members and first time home owners. I know 7 people moving to the area within the next year who have been asking who our builder is and how we like the house. Depending on how my 30 day punch list appt goes this week will determine whether I recommend A Sydes to my friends/ people in the future. From the other google reviews it seems like there’s not a whole lot of hope with the 30 day punch list inspection. Aside from poor workman ship with painting, caulking, installing doors etc our sod is separating and we have lost strips due to water run off. The kitchen cabinets are also pretty beat up from installation. There’s nails and staples sticking out in the doors. The painting outside around the front porch is so cheap when I tried to wipe some dirt off the paint came right off. The pillars aren’t even in line with the house. They hang way over the concrete step and stick out from under the top of the house. The door was not sanded smooth before painting and is so sloppy with globs of paint. They also did not use a gloss over the primer paint on the door so wiping/ cleaning it is impossible. They did not sand down any crown molding base boards etc and it’s just a clumpy rigid mess. I could go on and on. I’m so bummed. We haven’t even been here for 3 months and we immediately have to hire someone to repaint/ fix some cosmetic repairs. The paint they use is the cheapest you can find. My step dad who is a contractor came to visit and just couldn’t believe how sloppy everything is. I was expecting to just have to pay for painting knowing about the awful flat contractors paint they used… but this other cosmetic stuff is just ridiculous. If things go smoothly I will update my review. There’s also screw pops everywhere. We are regretting our decision BIG TIME. I now know why they address so many times at orientation that cosmetic damages may not be fixed. It’s because the houses are covered in cosmetic mistakes. The reviews say it all.

I cannot recommend any Sydes homes being built currentlyor within the past few years. My family and I move into a Sydes home in November of 2018. Since then we have had many issues, especially with plumbing. We had some issues with our master bath and shower leaking into our kitchen less than 2 years of moving in. We recently found a toilet that wasn't sealed properly. This has been slowly leaking water being flushed since we have moved in. We also found one of the connections for two of the bathtubs has been leaking. On top of all that we had one of the bathtubs begin leaking because the tubs were installed with nothing supporting the middle or the feet on the tub. Of course because it is more than a year after the purchase Sydes says it's not their problem. I'm sorry but when multiple people in a neighborhood say they have issues and you continue using the same installation crews, it becomes your problem. I should not have to spend close to $40,000 to fix a home that's been lived in for less than 5 years. They count on issues to be a "slow burn" that way they make it past the 1 year mark and don't have to fix their own screw ups.**Edit- the information you have is from a joint account my wife and I hold. I have sent your warranty department an email from that account and will be awaiting a response. Also, David informed us that you will not cover the tubs and showers with a warranty after our final walkthrough. As expected, Holly put the burden on us and said they have no responsibility to assist and has since stopped communicating. We should not have to ruin our insurance because of this terrible work.

They do not care about the quality of their work. Our neighborhood Wylie Branch looks a complete mess. The roads are in terrible shape, overgrown grassy areas, and there answers are always the same and mainly just blowing everyone off. Don't even get me started on the pool and clubhouse that we were told we would have when we purchased our home. We had so many problems to be fixed in the 1st year and many of the "fixes" they came too do were just a quick fix that didn't last more than a few months. Or just completely lazy fixes instead of actually fixing the problem. Our pipes were shaking in the wall and it took me contacting them constantly to get them to do something about it, they were telling me that it just happens sometimes. In a brand new house....finally someone with an outside company heard them tell me that and told them that their pipes in their home didn't do that and neither should ours. This is just one example of the laziness and lack of care for the poor work they put out. Do not purchase a home from this company!

They don't care about the appearance of their neighborhood's. Come drive through Wylie Branch in Rocky point. The curb appeal is horrible. They promised us a pool at 100 homeowners and we are at 150 and no sign of a pool. They promised a clubhouse in all their MLS listings and now they are saying no clubhouse. This company is very deceitful.

All lies...Sydes does shoddy work and resorts to small print clauses to avoid ownership/responsibility. We have faulty wiring that could have caused major damage and loss of life that Sydes is claiming they are not responsible for.I would not recommend anyone to buy their housesUpdate: I hired an independent electrician (Legacy Electric) who, after inspecting and fixing the problem, indicated that the arc activity was due to faulty wiring where copper wire was exposed due to excessive splicing. That was on several wires in the switch which, over time, may move causing a short and arcing hazard and which ultimately caused a fire in our wall. We all could have been killed.Once again they were advised of this danger and refuse to address it. Don't put there family in danger. Legal action is coming.Regarding warranty. I have a 10 year structural warranty however this is the result of faulty work at the inception of the purchase of the home (not due to any time based warranty provision of wear and tear) therefore liability is still in effect here.

We owned a Sydes Home for 2.5 years. The craftsmanship was sloppy. It was clear their purpose was to build a home quick to sell without attention to quality. The home looked beautiful but the amount of work we needed to do simply to maintain proper quality in the short time we lived there was ridiculous. Constant caulking, patching up walls (the walls were paper thin and the slightest bump would create a hole). We also had to completely redo our septic system that was very poorly installed. The number of problems we encountered with such a new home was quite upsetting. We were quite disappointed in our home and eventually moved. I now live in a home that is 12 years older and there is much less maintenance.

I live in an A Sydes owned community (Wylie Branch in Rocky Point, NC) that sold land to a 2nd builder. I decided to steer clear of A Sydes and go with the other builder. A Sydes however has shown no traction on getting the community pool built. They have realtors advertise they have one. They are now starting phase 4 and still no pool. Phase 4 is the last phase. We have over 130 homes built so far with many people living in the community for YEARS without promised pool. We need ANSWERS.
