Contracted Panos Contracting to remodel our bathroom in a 1 bathroom condo at Pebble Beach, Emerald Isle. This remodel was a total gut, removing old tub and shower and replacing with a walk-in tile shower, vanity, toilet, and all drywall. We had a separate contract with a cabinet maker to make the vanity that began on May 27th. Panos Contracting began work on July 1st. Vanity was to take 3 weeks, bathroom, 2 weeks. Everything started out fine, Wyatt Panos, the owner, was texting us to let us know who was coming and when. Then things started to go south. Plumber didn't show when he was supposed to and Panos couldn't get hold of him. Then the county inspector didn't show when he was supposed to. Was told workers would be showing up, and didn't. Workers showing up without notice. Communication with Panos was becoming more and more difficult, he wouldn't respond to texts or phone calls/messages. We were having an additional GFI outlet installed but when Panos measured for the outlet, his measurements were off, so when the drywall was installed, the cut for the outlet was too low. This required the drywaller to come back and patch that hole and cut another. The schedule was then delayed because the cabinet maker took 6 weeks to complete the vanity, that put Panos about 1-2 weeks behind to finish the rest of the bathroom, not his fault. But the tiler had to come back 4 times to correct sloppy work and redo the shower floor tiles (3x). When asked 2x to come and view the tiler's work, Wyatt Panos would not come. Shower floor still puddles and doesn't drain properly. Panos contracted a glass company to manufacture shower glass and was told it would take 10 days for the glass to come in. After 10 days, we checked with the glass company and was told that it wasn't on order because Panos never paid for the glass. When asked about the shower glass, Panos told us that there was an issue with the installation date. Overall, bathroom was completed on the 13th of August. Overall, I wouldn't do business with Panos Contracting in the future. There was very little consideration for our timeline and his control and supervision over his sub-contractors wasterrible.Services: General construction, Tile work installation, Remodeling, Drywall installation, Plumbing fixture installation

Then that communication will slow & then lies and excuses will surface.He is a thief, dishonest, a total scammer and unethical. He will steal your money! He stole from us! He has also done this to many other families.Further investigation revealed that Mr. Panos' General Contracting License for jobs over $30,000 was suspended as of May 31, 2022 - the very day he signed a contract with us.Since July 2022, Mr. Panos has unpaid judgments in Onslow & Carteret Counties totaling $233,900.00.DO NOT HIRE HIM TO DO WORK FOR YOU REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOMEONE TELLS YOU ABOUT HIS WORK.This project was a major remodel of condo unit at Emerald Isle. Mr. Panos estimatedproject to take 30-45 days.Once installment payment(s) were made, Mr. Panos became more difficult and eventually impossible to contact. All the lies and excuses surfaced. It was apparent Mr. Panos had no intention of completing the project.Mr. Panos is a scammer. Steer clear of him, far away from him. DO NOT hire him to do work for you regardless of what someone tells you about his work.Service: General construction

I recommend steering clear from using this company. The owner is a great “salesman” and will be everything you want in a contractor (on time, seem knowledgeable, communicative), UNTIL he gets your money. Then that communication will slow & then lies and excuses will surface. I’ve learned an important lesson not to provide the type of cash up front that I did to this company and was unfortunately stuck with them for almost a year to construct a very simple detached garage. Each phaseof the project came with quality issues and no oversight from Panos. My yard was left trashed (subcontractors cigarettes, fast food, urine, nails literally thrown around the yard, etc.) We’ve documented multiple lies from Panos involving blaming lies on “supply chain issues” to a failed inspection and more. His crew literally hid evidence of collateral damage while working on site after they dug up some plumbing and electrical lines from a sump pump after being told multiple times they were there and we’d need to re-route. I could go on and on about this project which unfortunately leaves me with no trust for any contractor and financially set back.Service: General construction

We are not local so doing a remodel is not always easy but Wyatt and staff were very flexible, professional and accommodating, giving us plenty of updates through our rental house kitchen remodel. We plan to use them again for other projects in the future.Service: Remodeling
