Choose anyone else, or make sure you get a written estimate from these guys!! Simple straight shot gas line to garage started out $200-3, wanted it buried so 4-5, ok.. decided to go pipe cause way cheaper? Nope, bill 3 months later said quoted 5-7 and 680 bill.. 9 phone calls so far, wanted an itemized statement at least, didn't get anything. Manager was supposed to talk to guy that quoted and call back-nothing again.. instead I get another bill today with $10 finance charge. Not a very good way to run a "reputable" business that claims and has been around for a long time..Service: Installation

We used Robert Gibb and Sons because they installed the dual AC system in our home with previous owners. They held the parts warranty on our 3ish year old AC system. Unfortunately, our unit had a bad air compressor. Parts were covered under warranty, but the bill was still a shocking $800 for labor. The company was easy to work with and I understand a lot more time goes into the work than the 3ish hours I saw on site, but there was definitely some sticker shock. We will probably shop around next time for more competitive prices.Service: A/C system repair

If you want to pay a few hundred dollars to still not have heat, this is your place! If you want your money to be spent getting things done, go somewhere else.Had issues with my furnace over the winter. Called to have them out to look at it. The guy was there about 15 minutes and just filled the water up a bit and left. Within a few hours our heat was out again. Had to call someone else to come and actually fix it. They still charged me almost $200 for it. I called many times and left a voicemail about it. My husband finally called again and they said there is nothing they can do about the charges because “they didn’t know about it” even though I had been trying to contact them.Service: Heating system maintenance

When our storage heater stopped working I discovered it may be difficult to fix because it isn't a common type heater in this area. Kip showed up almost immediately after we called and by the following day he had several options on how we could either fix or replace our heater and was very confident their technicians would have no problems with our type of heating system. Once the parts arrived Marty was here early in the morning and replaced the coils in our storage heater in about an hour and a half. Everyone at Gibb is amazingly helpful, they answered all of the questions we had (including the silly ones), and even came in under their estimate for our repairs. I would highly recommend Robert Gibb for any heating repair or replacement issues you may have.

Do you want to have them perform a service on your house or business and then five months later have them perform the same service? If you answered yes then hire this business! If you answered no then I would not recommend you call them.I had them come to my house because I had water in my basement and they fixed it and said you might have to have this done every year. I said okay. Five months later... There is water in my basement... So they fixed it the first time why wouldn't they fix it again and they did fix it again however it was the same problem. So did they not completely fix it the first time? What's the issue? They don't care.I guess they're right I don't have water in my basement right now .. but I know who I won't be calling in five months... This company.

Excellent work - installed new kitchen faucet. Arrived earlier than expected so I didn't have the sink cabinet cleaned out yet. No complaints from the plumber (and I'm sorry, I don't recall his name, but he was excellent! Very professional, friendly, knew his stuff!), he just got busy and handed me the items to stash - and he still finished in less than an hour!Service: Installation

Highly recommend! I live out of town and my furnace decided to stop working this evening. Cody tried to troubleshoot over the phone, but came right out when he realized I likely needed new parts. Would give 10 stars if I could, I'm so happy to have heat again. Honestly didn't even take 3hrs to go from calling them to having heat. Most places wouldn't even come out here.

Overall the Technician that came to our house was great and wonderful and quickly assessed the problem with a different fix and did a great job being mindful of his workspace in our laundry room as well as being awesome with our dogs! The major problem that I have with this company is upon receiving their bill and was shocked by the amount charged for said service call. Called to inquire about the charge of bill and was told that this was a standard practice of charging for an hour and that they should have told you this when you booked the appointment...and that in the "HVAC industry this is a standard common practice"! I am fine with paying for a service as long as transparency is present as this is tough profession. When the appointment was booked I was offered to get an estimate which was not needed and instead just booked an appointment to fix a problem with leaking water valves. Was never informed of their "standard common practice" of charging for an hour! Needless to say the billing specialist I talked to was very nice but did little to rectify the situation and I am now still stuck with a charge that is incredulous. Be wary if you book with this company or any HVAC company ask first about what their standard service and time charge is if the front office staff do not offer this information freely so that you can avoid these types of practices especially with this company especially since this seems to be a reoccurring problem of misguiding customers on cost of services! Having just moved to the area I have one less company that I will be utilizing in the future for any further repairs to my plumbing or HVAC systems within my home!Service: Plumbing pipe repair

In 2019 we spent $3500 for Robert Gibb & Sons to install an Air Conditioning unit. We picked out a unit & upon installation we were told they gave us an "upgrade" because what we chose was notavailable. We have been calling the office repeatedly since the installation to get a copy of our purchase receipt, the warranty we also purchased & the owner's manual.To this day we keep hearing promises but have received nothing. On 5/20/21 we had them come out to look at the unit as it was not cooling properly. We were informed that we needed to spray the unit with water about 2x a year, but very carefully or we would bend the delicate "fins" & void our warranty. How were we supposed to know that?Then we received a bill for $140! How dare they!Service: Install AC

They responded quickly after I called and told them my furnace was leaking water. Turned out to be a torn gasket that they damaged during a annual check up. They covered the service call and the repair under warranty. Very satisfied with their service.Service: Heating system maintenance

Called to have them look at our AC, as a new home owner we wanted to make sure the unit was in good condition. The service tech only checked the refrigerant charge & said it looked great. He was there 15 minutes at the max. We got billed $140 for an hour of service because they include their “driving time”. Very friendly and on time service, but feeling robbed after $140 bill came for 15 min of service.Service: HVAC system maintenance

I was very happy with the friendly, courteous, and professional service I received from Robert Gibb & Sons when Technician Bob Wagner did a fall tune-up on my furnace last week. I was especially appreciative when he and the office staff were able to adapt to a last minute schedule change. A small part will need to be replaced on my furnace and I look forward to continued great service from Bob and the entire Robert Gibb & Sons team!

My 90 yr old uncles air conditioner went bad today. I called the after hours line.at 5:00and told them the issue.Wonderful Kevin was there by 5:30!He checked unit completely and even had to go back to shop for a part but problem was resolved by 6:45!!.I am so grateful for such service!I also learned how to avoid the problem in the future.Thank you so much!!

At 4:57 pm on 1/30/2019 we noticed it getting cold in the house and our furnace not running so we immediately dialed Robert Gibb & Sons. They answered promptly (as always) and since we are regular customers in their system a service call was easily opened. Our regular tech Vincent noticed the call come in and knowing the on-call after hours tech was very busy (due to many days of subzero temps) he picked up the call (extra mile award here!) and was at our house by 5:30 pm. He had the furnace running within 15 minutes. We are always pleased with Robert Gibb & Son's prompt service, product knowledge, and work site cleanliness.

I needed our gas fireplace looked at -- we hadn't used it in a while and were in the process of selling our house, when the real estate home insprctor indicated several issues -- so I called around. And around. And around. Home and Hearth where we'd originally bought it was very unhelpful, Laney's, Home Heating and Plumbing and others either couldn't do it or told me I'd have to wait a month or more before someone could come out to look at it. In desperation I called Robert Gibb even though I didn't think they handled fireplaces. Two days later a great guy came out and thoroughly inspected everything and took care of all issues on the spot! He was also very friendly and fastidious, leaning the area cleaner than he found it. Then the bill was only about half the amount I had expected to be charged! I can't say enough about this great experience except... How Fargo of You! Or maybe: How Robert Gibb of You!

Our overall experience with Robert Gibb and Sons on this service work was outstanding, starting with the office staff that answered our initial call, to arranging work and product selection with Mike. Sheldon and Sam installed four new toilets and did two faucet repairs in our home. From the time they arrived until they left they were very positive, hard working and conscientious. I called Robert Gibb & Sons after our furnace appeared to be having problems with heating our home. I called the 24 Hour Service Phone Number on their website and a technician was at my front door within 90 minutes. Troy quickly diagnosed and corrected the problem with the furnace and was very professional. He also provided me with a few pointers to help me get the longest life and most efficient use of my furnace. I am extremely happy with the Service that Troy provided and will be calling Robert Gibb & Sons in the future for any heating / cooling issues that I have.

Jesse serviced our furnace and did an outstanding and thorough job. He explained what he was doing and why. We have a fuel oil furnace and while he was working on it he was very meticulous about cleaning up after every step. He also checked every facet he could check with gauges. I was very impressed with his overall efficiency. I would highly recommend him personally. He represented his company very professionally.

RG completely missed the boat. They didn't perform a pressure check on our old furnace, which was the reason we asked them to come to our home. We understand that mistakes and miscommunication happens, so when our home inspection revealed that a new furnace was necessary, we asked them for a quote. They came in several hundred dollars higher than a different local company, and instead of calling to ask if we had questions, we just received several auto emails harassing us to make a decision. When I wrote a review on their "contact us" form, explaining why I was unhappy, they claimed they didn't receive it. We still have not received an invoice for work they completed, which they've promised to send several times. We were also promised a refund and have not received it. We can overlook a mistake or two, but this was too much. We won't be back.Service: Heating system maintenance

I couldn’t have been more happy when technician Hunter came to our home on a very cold night when the furnace went out. He was on call and it was late. Hunter was at our home in an extremely short time frame. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and informative. He had the furnace working in no time and also offered to show. me what the problem was. That was very important to me.Unfortunately, a couple weeks later the fireplace quite working. Technician, Jessie, came this time. He also was extremely prompt in arriving according to the time frame we discussed. Jessie was also extremely professional, knowledgeable and informative. The problem was tricky to fix but Jessie got it up and running. He gave me a wealth of information that was very helpful.I would recommend Robert Gibb & Sons to anyone. I couldn’t have been more pleased with their professionalism, knowledge and how accommodating they were.

Nothing but superb things to say about Gibb & Sons!When our 40 year old furnace finally blew out - one of their techs came out on a Monday, Kip (the salesman) came by that same afternoon, and on Wednesday we had a brand new Furnace perfectly installed and ready to keep us warm! Amazing!!!Last weekend I botched a DIY plumbing project, and didn't hesitate about calling Gibb & Sons again. Pat solved all our problems this morning - with excellent customer service. Such a nice guy, and he didn't mind out Cat playing in the tub while he worked. Thanks everyone!!! Can't wait to work with you again.

When we moved into our first house, we knew the 32-year-old water heater needed to be replaced. Kipp and the team at Robert Gibb & Sons helped us through the process, helping us compare water heater options and find the best solution. I moved into a home that the water heater hadn't been used in a year and a half. Pat came in looked at the old water heater, tried everything to see if he could get it running, sadly I needed to get a new one. He was prompt in getting my new one over and went to extra mile to explain what he had done to the old water heater and what he was doing to the new one. He also showed my how to properly drain the new water heater to protect the life of it. I will be calling Robert Gibb and sons again for any plumbing and heating issues.

Very nice Young man (Jesse) who took pride in his work & Job, Very Professional, Well Done, Prompt & informative, straight Forward and didn’t try to get me to up grade and buy something I didn’t need. (Not Like the other Plumbing & Heating Companies that gave me Estimates and I felt like I was being taken Advantage of) Best Price! Hands Down! Beat the others price by $700 and Had the Job Done (In and Out the Door) by 12:00 Noon the next day. Great Web Site, Shows you All the Hot Water Heater Types they Carry and The Price right up front, Wish I Would have found them right away. I did business with Another well known Plumbing & Heating Company in Fargo for over 20 Years but Now “Robert Gibb & Sons” is going to be my New Go To Plumbing & HVAC Company to do business with for now on!
