We absolutely love our Thompson home. We LOVED working with Libby who went above and beyond in our design for us. We love our pond lot with our pond view. The choices for everything from backsplashes to light fixtures to flooring were abundant and allowed us to build exactly what we wanted. While we didn't fully take advantage of all the custom options (adding doors, adding windows adding garage space, adding concrete to the back) there are many choices that can make a home even more custom if that is what someone is looking for. I think the thing that most surprised us about the entire process was the moment we walked into the model home during the May Parade of homes (2022) we were promised a closing date (with out a contract).... the STUCK TO and LANDED that closing date. And with the one year warranty they have been amenable to fixing things that have come up that need fixing. Not impressed in the slightest, after 2 years of constant battles they still haven't finished what they said they would fix. Not the experience I was sold or promised. If anyone is looking at this company feel free to ask me my experience I'll be happy to share.Update in response to Thomsen homes reply. The standard Thomsen response was that everything was completed... Through my Thomsen homes experience they would routinely mark things complete like connecting the vent over the stove(Fire hazard) that weren't. My favorite was when they said my roof shingles were replaced and corrected with no one even ( I worked from home at the time) coming to the house. It was like magicBut by far my most memorable day with Thomsen homes is when they told me after trespassing and damaging my home that everything would be taken care of better than it was. Damaged AC unit cracked foundation just to name a few.

This is my third new house (third builder too) I have purchased in the past roughly 25 years. I can be very difficult to please as I tend to hold high expectations for those I give my hard-earned income to. I have seen good reviews and not good reviews about Thomsen Homes so I waited to write my review until our warranty period was over.No new home build is going to be 100% perfect. I am happy to report no major issues with our Thomsen Home. No big issues with client services, communication, warranty work (all completed timely as situation would allow). Warranty work done has been satisfactory and above satisfactory. We have been very happy with our purchase from Thomsen Homes.Only little quip is that I wish there was a garage door opener installed for the third stall door and spruce up the garage so it looks as nice as the rest of the home. I know it's a garage but still part of the purchase... right?The team at Thomsen Homes and their contracted services have all been pleasant and always worked to make us happy. We LOVE our home and do not have any regrets.

We love our new home built by Thomsen Homes. We were out of state and they were so accommodating with our schedule when we flew in to go over any details with us. Also the way they worked with us to make it a senior living home customized just for us was great. After move in of course there are always a few things that might shift around as with any new build in Fargo but they have been very helpful and quick to get them resolved. We couldn't be happier! We have been moved in a month now and just Love it! I highly recommend them.

My husband and I have purchased two Thomsen Homes. Regret both purchases, especially the second most recent 2024. Advice to others, research this company before you purchase. Talk to other buyers!!!!! Listen to them, and read reviews.

We have owned 2 Thomsen Homes and recently built the second one. We had a great experience with everyone throughout the entire process, and they made building a home easier than we could have imaged. From modifying the floor plan to picking our interior/exterior selections, the team was very organized and accommodating, and we knew all the pricing that came with any changes we made upfront. The Thomsen team also worked well with our realtor as we were trying to sell our home, and they granted us the extra time we needed to close on our home and get into our new Thomsen home without any penalty. Overall, we had a great experience, and we would highly recommend them.

We closed on our house March 9th 2022 and our yard was left trashed and full of garbage. We’ve tried to contact them multiple time via email and phone call and have gone days without a response or when we do they blame it on the weather. As you can see other homes are getting driveways poured and have no no garbage in the yard and no one lives in it. It’s even to the point that our dog has cut his paw multiple times just trying to go to the bathroom outside.Service: Home building

After living in the Fargo area for several years, I decided to take the leap and purchase my very first house. As a single mom of 4 kids, I looked all over and just couldn't find anything in my price range that didn't need some updates. I was too scared to purchase something I wasn't quite sure about. When I talked with my realtor, Steve Haaby, I said, you know I fell in love with the design of one of these Thomsen Homes. Would it hurt to go check it out? He reassured me that it was a great decision, and I am so glad I listened. From the very first meeting with Nate, to every design meeting, all the way up to closing, I did not for one second regret my decision to build. And when I had some problems with my Mortgage lender, Nate reassured me that everything would work out, and he held true to his word. I am super happy with my decision to build, and I would do it all over again in a second if I had to do it over. They are truly an amazing team and I highly recommend building with Thomsen Homes!! The holidays were amazing in my brand new home!

Please DO NOT build or buy a home by this company!! They are the absolute worst!! Not to mention DO NOT build in Bison Meadows which is owned by Thomsen! It is a complete disaster with drainage issues that they are not willing to fix. Several individuals are not happy out here and wish we would have never moved here. Feel free to knock on a door out here and ask how we really feel before you buy/build with this horrible company. Take your money elsewhere.Well... Here we are a months later with nothing fixed. Again people DO NOT BUILD with this company!!I'm back!!! A year later and our issues are still not fixed....no surprise. Cracks in our drywall that happened when they were taking off doors to adjust them, doors still not aligned correct, and of course our wonderful drainage issues that have been on going for OVER a year now. Besides the point of them never answering your calls, returning your calls, or keeping you updated.

I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with the service provided by this company. I've had ongoing issues with them, and it's come to the point where I feel compelled to leave this 1-star review.First and foremost, the lack of response from this company is baffling. I've reached out multiple times about issues in my home, and the radio silence from their end is frustrating, to say the least. It's as if my concerns fell into a black hole.One of the primary concerns I've been raising is the drainage problems behind my property. Stagnant water has become a constant issue, and despite my numerous complaints, this company has not taken any concrete steps to address it. This negligence has not only impacted the aesthetics of my property but also raised concerns about potential structural damage.Furthermore, the promise of warranty repairs is nothing but empty words. They might say they'll return to complete these repairs, but in reality, they never do. It's been a never-ending cycle of unfulfilled promises.I'm writing this review to warn potential customers about the lack of accountability and care exhibited by this company. Please think twice before engaging their services. We worked with Thomsen Homes to build our first home and they delivered! Working with Darcy our sales consultant, Alyssa and Cydney our design team was smooth and successful. They were all so responsive and understanding of our needs and questions. I’m a back and forth person and the entire time I felt understood and was given options. They are Very professional and we were excited to even have our closing day scheduled earlier. It’s coming to 2 weeks since our move and wherever we look in our house it is quality construction and it feels like home. Loved a model home that I saw in February and bought (to be built) within days. The home was ready earlier than anticipated and was immaculate and darn near perfect at the final inspection. The staff was accommodating, always helpful and honestly a dream to work with! The process was easy, they kept me on track with prompts for paperwork and such, and provided detailed informational tips for the move and connecting with utilities. My first home buying experience with another company was a disaster, so I was nervous when I approached Thomsen Homes initially. However, my worries faded rather quickly. Jessica in sales and Alyssa in design are who I primarily worked with throughout the entire home building process. These ladies are WONDERFUL assets to Thomsen Homes. Jessica came in after hours to meet with me when I was considering buying a home with them. She is a straight-shooter, go-getter, knowledgeable in her role, very professional, and fun. Alyssa is also very professional, down-to-earth, and knowledgeable in her role within the company. These ladies helped me figure things out from larger concerns to tiny details during the process, mostly with me being so indecisive about things. Thank you both for putting my mind at ease and for all of the help along the way. You are VERY appreciated!Once the home was built, I met with Keith and Luke for the final walk-through. Both of these guys are great assets to Thomsen Homes as well. Keith is always on the go making sure that the tiniest details have not gone unnoticed so that clients will love their homes. As busy as he is, he never seems to be in a rush. I appreciate him taking time to answer all of my questions and for being "on top" of any issues I come across, no matter how small. Luke is also pulled in all sorts of directions as the construction manager. I really appreciate him taking care of an issue I had so quickly. He truly does his best to make sure that each home is built to whatever specifications are set forth. You all have excellent customer service skills and I appreciate that so much!The warranty app/client portal is amazing! I've never seen anything like it before. I absolutely love the organization that it provides and the company's organization, in general. They made this process positive and as smooth as possible. Aside from being a great home building company, Thomsen homes donates to various charities frequently. I really can't say enough GOOD things about my experience. This is my second home and I ADORE it! Once again, Thomsen Homes is a GREAT company. I highly recommend them if you're looking to build a new home.

Working with Thomsen Homes has been a delight. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and very focused on giving families a high quality of service. They have made the home building experience a joyful, stress-free process. When we first started looking to buy or build in Fargo, Nate was terrific. He showed us existing homes, as well as Thomsen model homes, so we could decided whether we wanted to buy an existing home or build our own. Once we decided to build, he worked closely with us to choose a lot, choose a style of home, and complete the purchase agreement. In the design process, Alyssa and Shelby were equally great. In our design meetings, they presented us with facts and options in a very orderly way, which made it much easier to decide what we really wanted our house to "be". They struck the right balance of providing suggestions but never pressuring us, or directing us to make a certain selection. We would recommend Thomsen Homes to anyone looking to build in the Fargo area. Their homes are fantastic and so are the folks that work there!

Don’t have customer service representatives if they don’t get back to you. Josh is awful.Another update- our entire house has drywall issues a year later and they hired another company to come out and fix it. It’s now going to take a week to fix our whole entire basement. And there are also many areas upstairs that need to be fixed. This has displaced my whole family as it isn’t healthy to my 6 week old baby and 2 year old child to be there. Absolute nightmare.*Update* our subfloor to our framing is not secure in one of our bedrooms, resulting in constant squeaking when you walk over that area- and you can physically feel the board move under the carpet. We were just told that this is a non warranty item and is not covered. My husband then simply asked what was covered in our warranty for flooring- and there was no reply.People’s frustration is coming from the lack of empathy and communication Thomsen holds. They won’t listen and they aren’t willing to learn and grow- so these bad reviews will keep growing. I’ve had better customer service at a Jimmy Johns getting a $6 sandwich than I have building a home…

Libby Martin was amazingly kind and attentive. She worked with my wife down to the final hours (literally!) to help make everything on our wishlist was accomplished. Korey made sure that anything that needed changing was accomplished. Luther was fantastic with his touch up work and completing our project on time. Tracy walked us through everything diligently at the end before handing us our keys. I'm sure some small things will come up but that is all part of a new construction build. One thing that always amazes me with Thomsen Homes is the quality of the home you get for the money. They want to make sure that not only the building process is seamless but also that the client gets as much as they can for their money. Thomsen continues to raise the bar & other competitors then follow suit. If I was building a home in that price range I wouldn’t even think twice about building with Thomsen.
