I hired this company to remove my roof and correct a mold issue. Thorsteinson said my mold issue was because the attic wasn't vented correct and I asked them to correct the venting issue which involved removing roof and remove the mold from the attic (because of the design of the roof the attic is less than a foot high so you cannot clean the mold with the roof on). Since then I tried to sell my house and the attic is significantly worse for the mold concern. I contacted the company and the owner was initially nice and said they would take a look at it. 2 weeks latter I heard nothing back so I followed up with the owner about my roof because I'm on a timeline for selling the house.I was met with hostility and told we did nothing wrong we aren't doing anything for you. All I asked at this point was for you to look at it, I have a mold issue it needs to be fixed maybe it's related to your work maybe it's a completely new issue. The owner kept telling me it's not our fault we aren't covering anything and we aren't even mold certified so we would never do that job anyway. Well you did do the job and you were suppose to clean the mold out of the attic that's why I hired you. The owner ended the call with "you can contact my insurance company and try to get them to cover it but good luck"I found another contractor that looked at the roof and found the attic hatch was leaking hot air into the attic. Thorsteinson did "replace" this attic access and they replaced it by laying a sheet of drywall on it and calling it a day. I was told any good contractor should know better but I guess this is what I get for getting a lower bidder, cut corners and repeat failures.

I called if they could help us with a roofing problem we have. The lady was very rude and stand offish.. not helpful at all. Clearly did not want our business. Take you business else where.

We were recommended this company and decided to use them for our roof replacement needs. They were on time and they replaced our roof very quickly (in one day). Then the problems started. The roof leaked right after, and I mean leaked - we had a small Niagara Falls in the house. We called and they came and fixed the leak and the damage it caused. We then noticed two additional problems - leaks behind the fascia and loosing energy at the roof ridge. (While they were replacing the shingles they offered and "fixed" the venting opening at the ridge) Two problems we did not have before the roof was replaced. Unfortunately when we called Bruce - their rep, he stopped by and claimed it was our fault. Maybe it was our fault we used them for this job is what he meant.. hard to tell. He suggested hiring someone to fix these problems. So we should be very careful next time when selecting a contractor for the roof work; since we now need to fix the problems this contractor have caused on our own. Hope our review and feedback helps the Thorsteinson and their potential customers alike.

We had storm damage that ripped part of my roof off. I called them at 6:30 the next morning and they pulled guys off another job because they understood the need to get the house enclosed. Professional crew and they all went above and beyond. Thanks Mike and crew!

I tried to get them to do the work for a roof reconstruction after a tree fell on my house. I had NEVER received a call from them, and when I did call, either himself or his wife were just a lot of "yah, okay"'s, as if they weren't even really listening to what I was saying. I sent over clear pictures of the work to be done, got no response, and finally called them to just ask "are you going to do this work or not?"Got a structural engineer to meet them at the house to make sure the house is good to go (there were several thousand pounds of tree on the house, so want to make sure it's safe and livable before inhabited again), and I don't hear from them......ever. I call today, and the guy who runs the place yells at me and tells me that "he doesn't bother with stuctural engineers and stuff, it's TOO COMPLICATED". Literally a structural engineer will just sign off to say that the house is good to go, but 10 weeks into this process, my roofing contractor cancels on me and makes me feel bad for getting a structural engineer to sign off.Not sure how these folks have become one of the recommended contractors in Fargo, it was an awful experience the whole time. 0 out of 5 stars, would give lower if I could.

I had them replace my shingles several years ago. First off, the efficiency they showed was amazing. I have an unattached garage. They backed their truck in between the house and garage and in less than 2 hours they had both completely stripped. They were done with both by 3 pm, they started at 7:45 am. When they were gone I searched thoroughly, I found one (1) stray nail and that was in the gutter. They replaced some facia that was bad, new drip edgees on both, several roof panels, and added 2 new whirly birds, as well as new vent covers. Their workmanship has stood through many storms. And working with them was effortless. AND they came in exactly on their estimate. I highly recommend them for any roofing work you may need.
