The beds were horrible and not comfortable. I ended up putting the iron board in between the mattress, and the box spring still didn't help. Rooms had nasty stuff on the bed skirts and behind the nightstand. HOT BREAKFAST was packaged oatmeal , muffins, and bagels with cream cheese. Coffee was empty at 6:15 and needed to be made. Hot water needed to be microwaved for use. Staff was very friendly and apologized but still charged full price for the room.

The good: friendly and patient staff. Clean sheets and blankets. Continental breakfast.Close to the highway, plenty of plugs for charging electronics, and close to gas stations.The bad: fire alarm was making that dying battery high frequency sound, so we requested a different room and the guest service quickly switched us.I always check for bed bugs at cheaper hotels. No bed bugs, but dead beetle bugs behind furniture as well as mold (one looked like a roach ) . Since the cleanliness seemed iffy and inconsistent, I decided not to use the coffee pot out of precaution.The ugly: you can tell this hotel is under funded and under staffed. Stains in the bathrooms, mold that looked like black mold, and we found an object that looked like a used pipe for recreational use under the bed. Big ick. No one appeared to be at the front desk in the AM so I couldn't let them know.

My swim team has come up and stayed at this hotel two years in a row and will continue to stay at this hotel for the years to come. Ms. Lynn is WONDERFUL! They are so accommodating and remembered us from last year even. Any time a room key needed reactivated or if our swimmers needed ice, Ms. Lynn was to the rescue! The rooms are clean, and the breakfast is good! I highly recommend.

Everyone was nice. Water runs and gets hot, fridge and Lots of plugs for charging. Coffee in a small hot water machine...and breakfast in lobby!It was exactly what I needed.Microwave, and I was able to get some rest after healing from a few hospital trips.Taxi driver was extremely cool from City Taxi.Thank you for the hospitality..! It then stays hot...I had time to wait, others may be upset with a busy schedule.Because of the fact that I was able get along in my journey and start my process of healing.The 5 stars remain.If you read this ..and are also like meI counted on Greyhound being a stop nearby... google has it up and running.Greyhound website says no go.At one point Greyhound stopped walking distance from Redroof. And this area.Greyhound customer service only claims Columbus at first.I saw it Youngstown, and years ago in Akron.None of these are feasible to Ashtabula area.I am still interested in hiking/bicycle trail.Bicycle ECT.Camping near Lake Erie.Clean Slate is available here.Nice room. And Thank you Red Roof inn.Nearby activities: Bicycle trail nearby. It is a huge deal for bicycle folks. Goes far!Lake Erie and camping close by.Laid back nice town.Walkability: Greyhound is down. Car is a must.

I was very happily surprised at the rooms. They were recently updated. Everything was fresh and worked properly. The front desk service was a little slow. Only 1 person working the desk and breakfast detail. The work out room was out of order, probably being updated. The breakfast was only from 6am to 9am. Breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs, waffles, English muffins, bagels, and fruit. Coffee, juice, milk and cereal were also provided. The king size bed was very comfortable. The price to stay was very reasonable. I would stay here again.Rooms: Dog friendly

Just stayed here for two nights with a group for the local medieval faire. Our rooms were slightly outdated, but clean, which was more important to us. The beds were also comfortable. The people who work here are also very nice as well.Unfortunately, we probably won’t stay here again. I want to make it clear that the issues are not the fault of this location’s staff. To start, we tried to book on the app. It was a prepaid rate, and initially, we only wanted one room. However I was charged twice for the booking, as it turned out the app booked us twice. When told by a representative it would be “too difficult to refund the second room” we decided to keep it, and add two more friends to our group. No big deal.Then, comes our actual stay. Within an hour of being checked in, I was charged an extra $61 dollars on a prepaid room. I asked the following morning about this charge, and the person said it may have been room rate change, but even she wasn’t sure why I was charged if the room was already paid, and they were going to find a solution and refund. So then when I check out the following day, the woman at the desk also said she was going to fix the rate for me. Less than ten minutes after getting checked out, I was again charged $61. So, I was charged an additional $120 on our stay, in a prepaid room.Again, I don’t blame the actual hotel staff, but this is very frustrating for a room to be advertised a “locked” rate if you prepay, and then get charged for the rate increase on your actual stay. On top of being double booked. When I had initially budgeted for spending roughly $250 on a stay, we ended up paying nearly $540.It’s also a disappointment because we have stayed at this hotel previously and had no issues, whatsoever. Was the building brand new? No. But the rooms were always clean, staff is kind, and it was a good budget friendly hotel to stay at.

My toilet was not attached and could fall over at any time.The room was clean, but understand, this is an old hotel which needs updating.Perfect for a one night stay.Oh, it would be nice if the smoking rule was actually enforced. Front desk didn't care.

It is a nice place to stay when on the road and looking for a comfortable bed and quiet rest. It has all the basic amenities and is close to fuel, food and the highway. Front desk staff were kind, and continental breakfast was a good start to the day. A few things in the dining room didn't work while we were there (broken cereal dispenser and inoperable hot water spigot) but those sometimes happen.The super-long hallway was notable and its "coolness" rating was talked about for a bit after we departed. Would definitely stay there again.

Cracked tile outside the tub. Slow running drain in shower. Sheets not fully dried, but clean. Reported at checkout time. Tipped room cleaning staff. The room was very clean and spotless. Easy access to thruway. Microwave. Mini fridge. Everything worked. Quiet. Would use again.Rooms: Spotless. Clean. Neat. Door latch and locks were secure and smooth to operate. Quiet. Microwave and mini fridge were nice to have. Basic cable. TV not a priority for me, though.Safety: Card access to the building and room. Sturdy door with easy to use latch, deadbolt and hook locks.

Laminate floor left our feet dirty. Toilet in room was cramped, the toilet paper practically hangs over the seat making it incredibly uncomfortable to use. Mattress was rock hard, pillows were very flat. Black mold in the overflow drain at the top of the sink bowl. Hallways were hot. Breakfast dining area was dark for some reason and felt like a sauna. We checked...the thermostat was set to 78. Not a lot of healthy options for breakfast, nothing hot unless you made a waffle or oatmeal. Get what you pay for.

The location & staff are terrific although the rooms could use some tlc & updates. So many updated beautiful surrounding hotels to choose from. Stained comforters when we arrived, gross. Breakfast was basic little to choose from; cereal, muffins & boiled eggs. People book this hotel simply for the cheap rooms but note, You get what you pay forRooms: Updates needed, hotel still looks to be in the 90's Era witch no big deal I myself am a 90s baby but we're in the 2020s now.Food & drinks: Not impressed with the little breakfast offered.. more options would be nice

Okay. When checking in, we waited for maybe 10-15 minutes cause there wasn't anybody at the front desk. The room was overall clean, but when leaving the next day there was some gross bug in the hallway on our door. Breakfast was really mediocre, with the only real edible options being cereal or a waffle. Stayed here since we needed something cheaper for our roadtrip with our pet cat.

We stayed a few days while closing on our house. The managers Lynne and Wes were great! Always ready to lend me a hand with my handicap husband. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and quiet. Words can never express my gratitude to them and the entire staff. Would like to have had more breakfast options but coffee was wonderful. We would recommend this hotel.

Bed sheet was dirty.when ask to change them said I'll give you sheet if you want them you change them.extra towel laid on dirt hall way floor in nothing just on floor. Fregrater didn't work. The pillow where so flat we folded our jacket and used them under pillow Both r oom bed where dirty was told from front desk no cleaning crew on duty at 4 in afternoon. The rooms were nice. They have a microwave and refrigerator. There wasn't a lot at the breakfast bar. There were bagels, English muffins, coffee, orange juice, milk.There was a gas station and Denny's across the street that can be walked to.

I stayed here two different nights on a recent trip from Wisconsin to NH and home again. The desk staff was friendly, competent, and welcoming. Though the building is aging, both my rooms were clean. The location felt safe to me, as a woman traveling solo.My first room, at the beginning of my trip, had a very loud fan in the AC unit, and the bed was definitely past its prime. I did not ask to be moved to a different room, though in retrospect, I wish I had.The second room, on my way home, was much better. The AC functioned well, making noise in the usual normal range, and the bed was much better.I would describe the breakfast as minimal for a free hotel breakfast. If the quality of the breakfast is a deal-breaker for you, this one won't win you over. There were hard boiled eggs, packaged pastries, bagels, and bread/toast. Given the relative budget price point of the hotel, this was fine for me. If you want a fancier breakfast, you can always go buy one and still spend less in total than some of the nearby hotels would charge.For my needs, the location was perfect. Easy on and off of I-90 and about halfway between WI and NH.My rating on service is definitely 5 stars. The room for my first stay would be in the 2-3 star range, and the room from my second stay would be 5 stars, given the age of the facility.

The room was dirty, the parking lot is terrible with potholes capable of swallowing your car. The included "breakfast" is not breakfast... it's prepackaged sweets, cereal, bad coffee, milk and juice with a printed sign on the refrigerator saying "ABSOLUTELY NO FILLING BOTTLES, THIS IS SINGLE SERVING ONLY" Very low class overall. There are much better options in the area. Save yourself the bad experience and choose a different hotel.

I had to wait a little bit for a room to be cleaned, but they were very fast about that - which was great.Food was close by if driving, but without personal transportation food delivery is your friend.I would stay again.

Room was very clean and updated as well as roomy. The rest of the property was very old and in need of repair, updating and overall more attention to detail. Hallways and entry areas were very dirty. The outside of hotel is not inviting, like you are entering a juvenile detention center. The parking lot has been patched to the point it feels like your driving on the surface of the moon!

Nice place with great customer service. A good breakfast too. If that's all there was to it, I'd be giving this place 4 or 5 stars. I just can't look over the fact that when we arrived at our rooms, they were not clean. And I don't mean that the beds weren't made, I mean garbage everywhere, donut wrappers on the bed, the toilet wasn't flushed. No one had even checked it over before okaying it. This was not the clerk's fault, of course, and she was very accommodating and apologetic about it - we got new, clean rooms right away. The people running it are dedicated to giving you good service, but don't expect a perfect experience!

This is the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Had a great view the sketchy crackheads and bedbugs left immediately still fighting for a refund. Guess small claims it is.Noteworthy details: Don’t stay here, run away!

Our door doesn't lock, but that's okay because I have to use my entire body to open the door so it seems locked. The bathroom door in our room didn't shut. The walls are yellow from what looks like old smoke. The ac in our room looks to be from the 1990's and acts like it too. Our room was so hot the entire stay. I had to get new keys for our room every night we stayed. All five nights were pretty much miserable. The website said queen beds but they are only full size. Only upside was the staff was super friendly. Unless you're on a strict budget or just looking for a cheaper hotel I wouldn't stay here.
