I've been a happy customer of V&EH for years. Recently, I had a routine tuneup of my furnace, which was handled very well by technician Jeff P. He mentioned that my water heater was a fairly old model, and I asked him some questions about lifespan and potential issues that could arise. Turns out my water heater was well over 20 years old, and was very likely nearing the end of its life. At the end of the tuneup appointment, Jeff provided several estimates for different replacement models. I ended up selecting one of the models and he happened to be the technician who installed the new unit. Once again, I was impressed with his work quality, professional style, and thoughtful customer service. Definitely recommend V&EH for their products and service.

We had a wonderful experience with the entire process of working with VEH for the installation of a mini-split. Kevin was great at explaining the process prior to our purchase, and was able to schedule us quickly. The installation crew however truly stood out - they were on time, professional, and respectful towards me and my house. They very effectively kept things clean and tidy, despite needing to do interior and exterior work (on some very muddy and snowy days), and explained everything to me throughout the entirety of the process. We have had quite a bit of work done on our house, and by far they were the most responsive and professional crew to come through. I won't hesitate to work with VEH in the future for this reason!

VEH is top of the line! Recently had them out to repair a corroded water shut-off valve & install a new water line in order to install our new fridge. The plumber who came out was very friendly, incredibly helpful and did way more than he was asked to do. I couldn’t thank him enough for taking a few extra steps to make our process smoother. He was professional and even gave attention to our dog (who was very grateful!). They also installed our boiler & hot water tank and still call to check if they’re okay! They charge roughly double what market rate is but they came out the day I called. They charged me $1000 to replace a basic gas valve that included the $150 valve. when I scheduled over the phone they told me they charge $225/hour for labor and $98 to diagnose, then stacked in a $95 “ same day part pick up fee” to cover picking up the part vs the $65 “return another day fee”. But when they actually arrived they told me after the diagnosis fee and the part pickup fee they would charge me $807 for the valve and installation. The tech was finished 90 minutes after arriving to diagnose including supposedly picking up the part so it is hard to figure out where the 3+ hours were billed. The response on questioning the total was that they markup parts but refused the say how much and “do you want me to take the part back out”?They did get the job done quickly.

Our 16-year-old 40-gallon water heater sprung a leak yesterday, and we called the Hann Bros. Jeff the technician came today and condemned the heater, no surprise. We opted to replace it and its 14-year-old sister with a high-efficiency 50-gallon water heater. Jeff got everything done today, and we're back in business. Great service, as we have experienced with our air conditioning and boiler!

We were in the market for a new heating system and decided to look at heat pumps with alternating gas systems. Kevin Krejci from VEH gave us the most detailed and thorough proposal of the contractors we consulted. He was also excellent at answering detailed questions and put us in touch with someone in shop who owned the heat pump we ended up going with (a Bryant Evolution). The installation went smoothly.However, there were issues with getting the system settled in after start up. These are complicated systems, and they take both some getting used to and some adjustment to have them fine tuned for the home. In our case, the system had a glitchy thermostat (a rarity for these thermostats, we were told), and the refrigerant fluid may not have been filled up fully on install. There were also some issues with the system overrunning on the first cold day and making too much noise (these systems are designed to be so quiet you almost don't hear them).Yochanan Kaiser came in to fix these various hiccups and did a phenomenal job. There were some difficulties with the central shop when it came to billing, for we should not have been charged for the warranty replacement cost of a new thermostat when our installation was effectively not complete yet. With a well placed letter, Krejci made things right, and we did not have to pay for what we shouldn't have had to pay for. Krejci also made sure that he sent over Kaiser to fine tune the system a month later, and at that point discovered that the refrigerant was down.The system now runs amazingly. It's really a game changer in terms of home comfort and noise. It's almost silent and it creates an even warmth. It's a beautiful system, honestly. Very well designed.The main thing: VEH is a real place just like any. They have high quality products and good technicians. Their salesman is excellent. They got a bit tangled up in bureaucracy, but they listened and made things right. Then they went the extra mile. How many businesses can you say that for today? We often make small mistakes in things, but the main thing is whether we try to make things right and to be excellent.We're impressed. This rating isn't five stars, just because it's better to do a highly accurate rating than something sloppy. VEH had some room to grow, and yet they did excellently. We'll be recommending them to friends and folks who ask for a hearting contractor.

From start to finish, our experience with Verne & Ellsworth Hann has been five star worthy. We were in need of both an AC and furnace replacement, and after receiving estimates from multiple businesses, we knew we wanted to trust Verne & Ellsworth. Tim was wonderful to work with during the proposal stage of the process. He took the time to answer all of our questions, and he was extremely knowledgeable about the installation process and equipment. We appreciated that his expertise went beyond just sales! Tony, the project manager, was wonderful enough to contact me as soon as an opening was available so that we could get the equipment installed sooner than initially scheduled. I was most impressed with the installers, Greg and Sean, who went above and beyond! They worked tirelessly for 2 days, and they were professional, kind, and explained everything to me once the installation was completed. The best part is that there was no mess after they finished! I couldn’t believe how clean and organized their work area was even after day 1/2 of the project. I just assume that I’ll always have a mess to clean up after having any kind of work done in the house, and it meant a lot to me that they took extra care to respect our home. I will only use Verne & Ellsworth Hann for my plumbing, heating and cooling needs! Called them to check on my boiler before the season about a month ago and Joe came out... This guy is a boiler genius. He cleaned everything and made sure we were good to go for the season. He passed along some tips for maintenance throughout the season and even left some tags on specific valves in case my wife or I needed to know what to shut off and when... Bryan replaced kitchen faucet supply line valves. The kitchen hot water had flecks of black debris. Online, I read that old supply valves or an old faucet could be the problem. The black specks persisted after the valves were replaced, so Bryan checked the faucet, taking off the faucet head from the flexible neck. Inside the faucet head was a pocket of black debris. I didn't know that the sprayer head unscrewed from the hose. Now, our hot water is clear, thanks to our plumber's persistence.

VEH came through for me again. I had them replace my boiler ~10 years ago (see previous review). Yesterday my wife went to the basement and found our water heater was leaking a substantial amount of water. I called the morning at 9:15AM. John the technician was here by 10AM. Back with the water heater and materials by noon. It is 3pm and I have hot water.John was helpful, answered all my questions, gave me options at various price points, and left the space looking better than when he started! He also noted a small leak in my main water line that has been there for several years. I'm going to have the repaired ASAP and avoid a huge mess that I'm sure would hit exactly when I need it the least.If you have a boiler, I would recommend their annual plan; the cost is about $10 less than an annual inspection, so I don't know why anyone wouldn't do it. It is also good for a discount on repairs. I need a boiler inspection, so I signed up for the annual plan. Unexpectedly, they applied the discount to today's bill, which saved me a couple hundred dollars. (I assumed it wouldn't apply; who let's you sign for a the discount plan AFTER you know you need repairs.)If you need boiler, plumbing, or HVAC work, definitely give VEH a call.

We experienced a broken furnace in January at one of our rental houses. After unsuccessfully trying to get quotes from other companies we called Verne & Ellsworth Hann Inc. They gave us a quote the first day and the entire job was completed within 4 days. The new Bryant furnace that replaced the 70 year old monster that was in there is keeping our tenants nice and warm and cutting down on their heating costs as well.
