If you're looking for a company where the blind are leading the blind, you've found it. If you're looking for a company that defines "professional" as barely competent, hire College Works Painting. If you're wanting to manage the whole 2-month debacle because the project manager didn't know what she didn't know, the supervisor provided no effective support to the crew despite knowing the issues the entire time, and the communication chain was so broken you (like I did) have to do a significant amount of the job yourself to do it right, then College Works Painting is perfect for you. I also hope you want to be charged extra for their lack of due diligence and to be left with paint drips and splatter on the roof, the deck, the patio, the foundation, and the driveway because that's how College Works Painting goes above and beyond the call of duty.I feel responsible to warn other homeowners of what they're potentially getting into. Within the context of a normal painting contract, the experience I had could only have been more avoidable had I not hired them in the first place. Shame on me for thinking a paint job couldn’t be messed up this badly.College Works Painting will likely be quick to dismiss the performance shortfalls on the intern and crew. However, is the responsibility of the company (not the homeowner) to provide the appropriate training to meet their own standard to "provide professional residential house painting services to homeowners." "Professional" apparently means different things to different people. If College Works Painting's performance is any indication to how they define it, "professional" means dripping paint on the roof, patio, and deck. It means over-painting onto adjacent surfaces. It means painting over existing flakes of paint that can easily be pulled off with one's fingers instead of scraping as outlined in the contract. The photos speak for themselves.If you're reading this as a homeowner, don't let all of their accolades and press coverage distract you, run away from College Works Painting as fast as you can. From the quote process to completion of the job, Logan Dilik and his crew were professional and very helpful. (The guys were quite popular with my 3 year-old and my dog.) Patrick Flynn and his College Works painting team were very professional and thorough from the beginning of our project to the end. They presented to us in a succinct and mature manner and walked us through alternatives. They ultimately did a better job of presenting themselves and working within our timeframe and budget than crews that have been in town for years, which is why we selected them. Once on site, they continued to conduct themselves professionally and displayed a high level of skill. They did an excellent job of cleaning up the site each night before leaving. They arrived early in the morning and completed the job exactly when they said they would. We love our finished product and would use them again! We'd recommend College Works Painting to anyone!

I found Jimmy Hessel's work to be well planned and executed. His ability to follow my instructions on the numerous areas to paint and stain were followed to the T. He and his team completed our deck, shed and home in less than two weeks and everything looks great. Each day they cleaned up their paint buckets and tools so that you never knew they were here. I would recommend Jimmy and his team for anyone who needs their home or deck painted or stained.

We hired College Works Painting this spring to pressure wash and paint all of the trim on our home. They also painted the cap to our chimney, which is located on top of a very steep peak. We were extremely pleased with the entire process and their work. The task was not small since the fence is about 250 feet in length and both sides needed to be re-painted. The powerwashing prepared the surface and two coats of paint were applied.The job took a little less than two days. The painters arrived on schedule and diligently painted according to our wishes. They cleaned up at the end of each day and the fence looks great. The combination of spraying and brushing on the paint provided excellent coverage.A particularly nice feature of this episode was the flexibility that allowed us to purchase the paint and determined the exact preparation and coverage that we wanted.I would recommend College Works Painting without hesitation.

I had my large back deck & railings, expansive play structure, and several wooden benches power washed and re-stained in 2012 in order to prepare the house for sale. Once completed, the deck looked outstanding, almost as good as new 12y earlier. The play structure and wood benches also looked very refreshed and matched deck perfectly. Patrick Flynn, and College Works painting did an excellent job. The process was painless, and the end result really helped me get top dollar for the house when it was sold. Great work and highly recommended.

Logan and his painters Mike and Ryan did an excellent job painting my home and storage barn. I could not be happier with Noah Stone and College Works Painting. I was contacted by Noah about having my house painted this past summer. Noah came to the house in the spring, explained the service they would provide and the materials they would use, and answered all of my questions. He was professional, articulate, helpful and knowledgeable about all aspects of the business. I contracted with him to paint the brick on my house (which had been previously painted years ago), and put down a deposit. Noah kept in touch and scheduled a work date with me well in advance, and then he followed up and showed up as planned. He was always on the job early in the morning, and worked hard all day.I was so impressed with Noah Stone and College Works Painting. Unlike many service providers, he was prompt, responsive, and most importantly, he did a wonderful job painting my house. When the paint store gave him a paint color that was not exactly what I wanted, he worked with them until the PERFECT color was obtained, which required him to go above and beyond what many others would do. We were contacted in February about getting an estimate and told them we would not be at all interested until the end of April. In early May, Logan Dilik called to set up an appointment. We accepted his bid but warned him he would have to work around our hectic summer schedule. Logan was quite knowledgeable, provided great assistance, and worked within our time parameters to insure the job was completed. We experienced slight damage to our garage door system during pressure washing and due to paint "sticking" the door shut. Other than that, so far we are quite pleased with the results, the professional manner in which the sale and the job were performed, and have recommended Logan and College Works to several of our friends.

I had my deck painted this summer, with the job led by Dan DiCillo. First, from the moment Dan came to my home to do the estimate - he was professional and thorough. From politely introducing himself and his peers, to taking off his shoes upon entering my home, to talking through what College Works had to offer, to quoting the job and finally, to providing an estimate; he spent over 2 hours to be certain he was understanding my needs as a customer, and providing the best options. I was extremely impressed! I knew that there was no one who could do the job better - and I hired him on the spot. He came to powerwash the deck to prep, and he had additional recommendations to make sure the job was done right and to my liking - this was something I greatly appreciated because had I not known, I would not have been as thrilled with the outcome. Again, after going over his recommendations, I immediately agreed and we chose a color/stain. He allowed me to replace some boards that had been rotting and worked around my schedule. The job took less than 2 days, and I was home and watching the care that was put into every stroke. They stayed late to put an additional coat on and it turned out AMAZING. I was unsure about the color to choose and Dan steered me in the right direction and again, was spot on because it is a rich mahogany that added years and life to what was already there! I have my son's birthday party this weekend and can't wait for people to see the deck! It literally looks brand new - and was a lot more cost effective that re-doing it entirely. This experience truly exceeded my expectations. I would recommend College Works to anyone and everyone - specifically Dan. His style and expertise on the products put him a cut above (and I had multiple estimates from multiple companies) and truly was the reason I went with them over others. Recently (May of 2016) we had the exterior of our house painted by Tyler Miele and his helper Dondi through College Works.We were very impressed with both their work ethic and dedication to detail. I would never recommend this group to anyone who wants anything painted. They seem very professional, at first, with a "supervisor" coming with the interns to measure and write the contract. After the initial contract was written, we never saw anyone who has any experience with painting. No one checked on the quality of the work. It didn't seem like any of the painters were actually trained in painting. We had them go back over areas where it was thinner, or they missed spots completely. When we kept bringing this up they tried to nickel and dime is, saying we would have to be charged more for an extra coat. Paint was dripped on our bed spread and there was tiny paint splatter in anything close to the walls, because they didn't cover anything. We were in the process of wanting to put our house on the market and they painting took multiple weeks. They kept leaving to do other jobs. I would say it was the painters fault, but the company for failing to train these kids. We ended up repainting areas ourselves, which we were told we would be reimbursed for. Never saw anything from them. Don't waste your money, either get professionals or do it yourself.

I would highly recommend using College Works Painting for your next home painting project. Anne and her team arrived on time every morning, finished the job quickly and my house looks incredible. I love it so much, I still go outside to look at it every couple of hours and the house has been done for over a week!What a different paint makes! I am shocked at how awful our experience was. I trusted these reviews and now believe they are fake. The problems were so bad we asked the painters to not finish the trim in the front of the house because we planned to do it ourselves. After they painted there was paint spray and drips on everything...Our vehicles, railings, expensive furniture, edible plants, brick work, doors, and more. The workers tried to remove with wipes to no avail. They painted the doors to the house while they were closed leaving a line of unpainted door when you open it. Same with door frame. We asked before they began if they would cover the gardens with something to prevent lead paint scrapings from getting in. We were told they would. They were not. After asking multiple times including writing emails to the main company for a supervisor or someone to please at least call us about the quality of work done we were never called. We gave them weeks to respond and many polite emails with the corporate office were exchanged but no one has ever called or inquired about what they can do to help.

We were listing our house and needed our 10 year old deck and wood play yard to be power washed and stained. Patrick did a FABULOUS job doing these. He was attentive to our needs, was very thorough in explaining what he'd do, was VERY helpful in helping us select which stain to use, and worked extreme hard (in very hot temperatures) to finish the job in a timely manner. Patrick comes highly recommended. I would definitely hire him again.

I believe in what these kids do, but I believe they are the sales force ONLY. They only (if I could reach them at all) preferred to communicate by text. I did not know WHO was my point of contact EVER! They hire contractors for the work they do and my guess is they hire the lowest bidder to work on houses. We had construction and painting crews and both jobs were HORRIBLE. The construction crew had to do the work over and damaged our vinyl siding edge and just left it that way saying, "that's what happens when you replace wood trim." Like WTH, then that's a contingency that becomes part of YOUR JOB. When I addressed gaps between the sloppily cut wood I was told that's the painters job to "caulk as they go." Well, when the painters got here, they said it was the construction guys' responsibility. Thank goodness I had some caulk and wood filler on hand for them to use. I was told by the siding installer who was there the week prior I should expect to see the painters go through a case of caulk at least! Any way, they were great people, the crew lead communicated with me often, and she was so patient when I was in the hospital, and dealt with my crazy schedule so when we finally set the date, I didn't mind letting them store their ladders at my house over the weekend. The crew was polite and clean, but they did absolutely NO prep work on our trim. No scraping old pealing paint, no pulling old stray, staples, nails, or screws, no caulking of gaps or knot holes...nothing. I was married to a professional home finisher so I learned a thing or two. Go down to Sherwin-Williams where they have a display of business cards of professional painters. At least you can know who you're hiring. With College Works, you don't know who you're going to get. 0 Stars if I could.

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to work at College Works Painting with Patrick Flynn. It was a great learning experience. Me and Patrick worked as a team painting houses and working with clients to make sure they were happy with what they were getting. Pat is a very detail oriented guy who worked intently with the customers and made sure every job was thoroughly completed to the clients expectations.
