Jake provided me a competitive proposal for replacing my worn out cement driveway and sidewalk. Within days his talented team started demolition of the old driveway and worked around the weather to get the new driveway in place. Not too often now days do you find a team that worked with such a high level of expertise, professionalism and work ethic. Even when challenged by the rain, and at times had to remove 8” thick of old driveway concrete, Jake and his team delivered above and beyond on this project and I would highly recommend him to others. We love our driveway.

I am a foreman for Second Life Restorations out of Dayton, Ohio, as well as the same place this company is out of. About a month and a half ago, my company started a deck restoration that needed multiple new structural and concrete supports as well as brand new decking. I and a crew of boys helping me pour about 20 new concrete pylons for the new support for the deck. Unfortunately, about that time, I had to go in for a double hernia surgery and wasn't able to complete the rest of the work. So we subbed the rest of the work out to United Building Solutions and was assured all this would be taken care of. I was gone from work recovering for about 4 weeks and thought I would never have to see this deck again. But unfortunately, I was very wrong. The quality of their installation was atrocious tripping haters everywhere perimeter board around the deck. All the angles were wrong and had huge gaps. Quite frankly, the customer we were doing this for was downright disappointed. My company supplied all materials and almost all the screws and they tried to charge us top dollar they didn't used the structural lag screws and bolts provided and all beams that were rotten or warped that need replaced, they just went right over with the new decking with no concern at all. My problem is now that my crew and I have spent the last 3 weeks ripping up 50 percent of the decking they have done and refraining and redecking all the trip hazards and all the angles that were wrong. It says that this company is a roofing company. I hope this company does better at roofs because I would never suggest them to build anything deck or framing related if this is the quality to be expected. If the owner would like to talk to me personally or pay me for my time to fix his mistakes, he knows how to contact us. I write this for a warning for anyone thinking of using this company in the future.

We needed to repair brickwork and drywall on an older home where someone had backed into the brick wall at the side of the garage door. Jake was our foreman who gave us a quote on the spot and offered that his guys could start the next day and get the job done in a couple of days. His quote was fair and his guys showed up as promised. The work was high quality and fully met our expectations. Jake was very responsive (getting back to texts and phone calls within a few minutes every time) as well as professional and polite. I would recommend United Building Solutions of any home repairs of this kind.

Jake and his team at United Building Solutions removed our two old decks and replaced them with new ones that are beautiful and well-built. The crew was professional and courteous to work with, completing the entire job in a few days. All old deck material was hauled away and the yard cleaned up when they were finished. The cost of this project, which included enlarging one of the decks and adding a gate at the top, was very reasonable and completed on budget. I plan to have them do additional work at our house in the fall and would use their services again in the future.

Jake and his crew did a magnificent job on a large remodel of our existing Ryan home. There was so many things to fix from the builder and it was all fixed right. I have known Jake and his family for several years and this was the first time I used his company. I had several quotes and Jake was the most reasonable after comparing his work to others. This won’t be the last time I use them!

We reached out to several contractors in our area about removing our back stairs and building a deck. Jake came out and I was very impressed with his knowledge and the fact that he is a first responder like my husband. After reviewing several quotes we decided to go with United Building Solutions, we paid the deposit but never signed an official contract. Jake assured us that we did not need a permit because the deck was 200 sq ft which is within the range for not needing a permit. We did however need to get HOA approval which Jake filled out the paperwork for us and once we got approval Jake set a date for the project to begin. The deck was built within 2 days, we did find some spots that needed to be fixed and they were able to come back out to make the corrections. We live in a new build neighborhood and the city came out to give occupancy approval for our house. We then found out that we needed a permit because the deck was more than 30 inches above grade and attached to the house. I reached back out to Jake by not only calling but texting as well. This was on 4/5, he texted back saying he was finishing up some jobs and would call back. I never heard back from him so I reached back out on 4/11 and still have not received a response. We are now trying to figure out the permit process with the city and facing fines for not applying for a permit ahead of time. I would not recommend this company to do business with and after reading other reviews I know we should have gone with a different company. Also Jake sent a a message after completing the deck for us to leave a review, well here is your review.

Jake was recommended by a friend when I was looking to replace my roof He came out right away to give me an estimate. As I was a new home owner, and had been advised to get a couple of estimates, that's what I did. Jake gave me a better price than the other company. Also, he was up front about what needed done, and what I could expect. The other company kept pushing me to "lean on your insurance..see how much they'll cover." They didn't want to commit to an estimate, but finally quoted me a couple thousand more than Jake.Jake's team came out, completed the work & clean up wonderfully...no delays. I LOVE my new roof!!! Let me start by saying Jake was very responsive when it came to the quote and getting me squared away with financing. COVID stuff delayed the project by some time! When it did go in, I was pleased with the final outcome. Very sturdy! The deck turns heads, and neighbors have complimented it! I felt that this company was very competitive in pricing! Jake is very knowledgeable and does good exterior work but beware if you do any interior remodeling. He will take your money and you will get every excuse in the book leaving you to wonder if and when the job will get done, not to mention how well. I felt obligated to leave this post because of a flip we worked on together that forced me to hire a different company due to lack of progress and the quality of work. Do not pay up front!!!

(This complaint originated from the Ohio Attorney General's Office) The issue that I’m having with this contractor is he has fraud at me of out of my money to remodel my home. I gave him over $79,000 so that the house can be placed as a duplex and I have multiple photos showing that he has not performed the work. He has been given the money and 2021 and he has not did anything in the home. He has provided me documents that he had insurance that he had bonding and he was a licensed contractor just to find out that the document was fraudulent out of the ad all the money that I have provided him. He wants to tell me that he’s been cutting the grass and mowing the grass and doing other items to my property but I hired a whole different company to cut the grass and clean the yard because he was not getting any work done. I didn’t pay this man over $79,000 just to maintain the grass and the yard for me. I needed my home completed within three months and it has been over two years and he has my money , he has done some framing in the property. However, he never pull permits to do anything from the house, and now that the architect has been in the on the property to find out the things that he did do was totally incorrect. I highly recommend United building solutions. This was my first property that I had a complete top to bottom remodel. Jake and the team were very professional and did quality work. We had 11 of our 30 year old wood privacy fence posts broken by heavy winds. United did a fantastic job replacing our neighbors heavily damaged fence. Seeing the quality of their work, I asked Jake to quote replacing 5 of the snapped posts on our east fence row and completely replace the older west fence row. United's quote was very good and when they ran into unforseen additional labor required to move the posts, it was immediately brought to my attention and I agreed to the additional cost before they proceeded. In addition, I wanted the replaced west fence row to match the 1 year old construction of my east fence row. They matched it perfectly! It looks so good our other next door neighbor is having United install a new wood fence that replaces a chain link and matches ours.

Jake and his team completed our basement and they did a great job. This is our second project with United Building and they both were completed on time with nice finishing at a reasonable cost. Our current project had a very tight timeline and the crew worked late nights, weekends to get the job done on time. Little Jake and Tom have been very helpful in communicating daily targets before starting the job for the day. Every single detail was addressed the end and they made sure that there are no imperfections on basement walls. Appreciate everything that they both did for our house. We love our basement finishing, flooring and the sky lights are beautiful with plenty of light.
