Geothermal Professionals is an outstanding , reliable, professional installation and maintenance company specializing in geothermal heating and cooling systems.We were building a new home and decided to go with geothermal heating...We priced six local companies who specialized in geothermal an decided on Geothermal Professionals....They were the only company that did a detail analysis of what our home heating and cooling needs would be...they were extremely careful in their installation of the systems we chose...and final price was extremely competitive. Dan Fant is the owner of the company and he is very 'hands on' in his approach to customers....They installed the complete system including duct work and drilling the wells for our system and did it all in a very short time and cleaned up daily as they worked. The drill crew and the inside installation crew were extremely professional, took their time, and did excellent work. In fact, it's one of the best HVAC system installations that I've ever seen. Dan, the owner, and I had a nice long conversation one night several months ago. He answered all my questions (I knew little about geothermal systems). I like the fact that GT is a family owned company with 17 years experience. When I told him I was thinking of donating my nearly new gas furnace to Habitat for Humanity (inspired by Jimmy Carter's work with them), Dan said he would have suggested the same thing. After a couple delays in scheduling the start of the project, which Dan discussed with me knowing I might have to rearrange my work schedule, the drilling crew arrived and got to work. I understood they would drill 200 feet down, so I teased the crew to tell me if they found oil or gold. I briefly entertained the irony of a solar powered oil rig in my back yard. Alas, all they found was a small blue marble, which I keep in my desk. A couple weeks after the drilling was finished, the installation crew arrived. They did an excellent job, explained everything to me and even took away my 8 year old gas hot water heater (probably too old to donate). The system has been running for 16 days now; even when the outside temperature is -2, the inside is a comfortable 69 degrees. The humidity hovers around 30%. I appreciate the fact that they are willing to travel so far (3 hours away by car), their dedication and professionalism, and fantastic customer service. I've already recommended them to several people in my area and look forward to the biannual service visits.Service: Heating system installation

To start, be prepared for a long wait to get your system. This is a smaller company that pays attention to detail. You can always check where you are on the schedule on their website so you can easily plan. While you are waiting, if your old system has issues, they will maintain them until your turn comes. The digging crew was fantastic. Once our unit was installed, we heard a pounding noise when the heat was being used. We had to call several times to have someone come investigate and fix it but they did come back out and fix the issue. We haven't had issues since then. They call you to schedule your twice yearly maintenance. We experienced -40° wind chill weather with this system over the winter and the emergency heat only had to kick on for about an hour. The system was able to keep up really well otherwise. My only complaint is that the actual thermostat on your wall and the app are a bit outdated compared to other digital thermostats out there. It would be great to be able to run a report and compare year to year usage on my own. Would love to upgrade when/if that is possible.I waited until we got through winter to write the review so that I knew what it was like for AC and heat.

Geothermal Professionals installed our geothermal system in March of 2015. The system has worked flawlessly for the past 7 years utilizing their biannual service. Just recently our system went down - the blower wasn't working. We called on a Saturday and on Monday Angela had scheduled Dan to come out. The blower motor needed to be replaced, the next day Dan had a new motor, came back out and installed it.Dan was courteous, professional and extremely neat. Angela treats everyone like a friend - they truly are "professionals" in their profession. Their customer service is top notch, best I have dealt with in years!If you are interested in a geothermal system then Geothermal Professionals is the only company to use! I had Geothermal Professionals install a solar electric system on my roof this past week. I'm still waiting for FirstEnergy to change my meter so that I can turn it on, so I don't have any good stories yet on all of the "free" electricity that I'm getting.However, the installation was very professionally done. Everything was left neat and cleaned up at the end of each day and at the end of the job. Dan and Sam were both extremely professional and definitely knew their craft.I'll do a follow up review in the future when I have some data on the solar production, but so far, everything looks very well done.Service: Installation

Our experience with Geothermal professionals was top notch!I was told someone would arrive between 11:30 and Noon today, and Dan pulled into the driveway, in a nice clean truck, at exactly 11:30! He was very professional, and told me everything he was doing to diagnose and solve the problem, all the way through the process. I had Geothermal Professionals install my geo and loop field about 8 years ago, and it has been the most reliable HVAC unit I've owned. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. He is very upfront and honest about everything including the equipment he uses and why he uses it.Some small parts did fail over the years, and they honored their warranty and even upgraded some parts of the system with more modern options. I expect it will outlast me.

They are very knowledgeable on geothermal systems and the install went very smooth. I live in the Northwest part of PA and there isn't anyone around me that deals only with the geothermal heat pumps. We have had terrible experiences with the only guy that works on heat pumps in my area. Very glad Google brought Geothermal professionals up on my search. We have had geothermal HVAC for over 35 years and have gone thru 3 different systems, all utilizing our water well as a source---we are an all-electric home. If we had a problem, with most other companies, the service people would sit there and scratch their heads --make a phone call. None were well versed on geothermal.We had Geothermal Professionals install our latest system about 3 years ago and went with a closed loop system with underground piping with antifreeze circulation for the heat/cooling source. They are very clean and professional in their installation, both inside and outside, maintaining a log book for each customer of all pertinent input/output data for each customer, and track any potential problems with semi-annual check-ups. We have had no problems.We have been very happy with lower electric bills and very comfortable temps year-round. Disclaimer: I have no conflict of interest in writing this review. I am simply a happy repeat customer of Geothermal Professionals.In 2009 my fiancée introduced me to Dan, the owner of Geothermal Professionals. After several very productive conversations with him I contracted for two geothermal heating/cooling forced-air systems for my home in Moreland Hills, OH. Also, as a physicist and tech-head I was delighted to be dealing with people who could talk and do tech.Work started in the fall of 2010 with Sam leading the complicated horizontal drilling efforts. The systems went operational in December 2010.Then I sold that house. Later we bought a home in Solon, OH.I called Dan and contracted with him for a geothermal system for our new house. Once again Sam lead the very difficult drilling efforts. The project called for eight 200' deep holes. The soil conditions at our home were miserable - clay, water, and gravel on the way to and through bedrock. Sam had to evaluate and respond to those varying conditions and engineer solutions on the fly. He succeeded. Meanwhile, the inside team neatly installed the unit and piping and did the necessary electrical work. They also enhanced the air ducting to get air to where it needed to go. The system went operational in September 2019.For both houses, the planning and execution were in all respects very friendly and very professional.I'm going once again to Geothermal Professionals for "green" work. We are in the planning and engineering stage for the addition of solar panels and EV charging ports to our home. I anticipate another excellent project by their team.

We chose GEO Thermal professionals a little over 10 years ago. Our home was built in the 50’s on less than an acre. Everything was a retrofit. They handled very aspect from installing a larger electrical panel and getting the city to run larger electric lines to drilling the four wells in my tiny backyard. The entire system install and start up went flawlessly. We have used their excellent semiannual maintenance since the start up and only once did the emergency back up heat come on so we called them for emergency service which was quick and thorough. Everything in 2009/2010 was eligible for the 30% tax credit so we were able to get a large portion back on our taxes. Avoid this company. Poor value and install practices. Dan, the owner, seems nice enough on first meeting, but became increasingly difficult to work with and frankly disrespectful as multiple issues arose with their work. Dealing with them was a nightmare.I hired them to install two geo systems on two homes. They finished one, but after multiple issues arose with the first system as well as during the 2nd install, I ended up having Sisler Heating and Cooling complete the geothermal system Geothermal Professionals started and fix the other system Geothermal Professionals completed.If you are thinking about installing a geothermal system, call Sisler Heating and Cooling first. Ask for Andy. They do the highest volume of Geothermal installs in OH, drill their own loops, are very easy to work with, do better work at a better price, and offer installs on all types of HVAC systems and ductwork so you get what you need. A geothermal system is too large an investment to risk on a company like this.Service: Heating system installation

Geothermal Professionals installed a new 5 ton Hydron unit in our home this past winter. Dan was great during our initial encounter and the crew that installed the unit were thorough and professional. They actually left our basement cleaner than it was prior to their exemplary work. This past Spring we experienced a minor glitch in our unit and Dan was out, post haste, to diagnose the problem. Issue resolved and unit working as it should. I would recommend Dan and the crew from Geothermal Professionals without reservation, as well as the Hydron Geothermal brand. It had the best rating and the longest warranty (double most) of all the manufacturers I could find on the internet.

Dan and team at Geothermal Professionals installed our system back in 2012. He helped connect us with an Eco-loan financing source that the State of Ohio offered at the time that just about provided "free money" for the project and allowed for other home improvements.Dan and team navigated thru an interesting geotechnical condition that didn't allow for the full vertical well installation. His creative approach pivoted the installation to a horizontal directional bore from the back yard under the house to the front yard. Then directional boring perfectly into the basement to supply the system.We are very happy with the 9 years having a geothermal system installed by Geothermal Professionals.
