Great care and attention to detail in this job, all walls were covered. Lofted ceilings and taped seams are repaired and painted like new again. Capped crawl space cracks sealed at perimeter and poured wall cracks. Extremely satisfied. No concerns with radon. Great crew. On time. Cost appropriate. Exceptional One is a great company. The staff at Exceptional One are great to work with. I have had them redo my deck and my master bathroom. Any and all questions were answered in a timely matter. There were a few hiccups along the way on my part as well as theirs, but we worked it out. Dan and his crew are absolutely amazing! I had a roof leak that ruined my office. I had a very hard time with the company that was supposed to do the remodel and ended up calling Dan. Not only did he come right out, but he got the quote done extremely fast and had my house back to normal quickly. 2 years ago, Exceptional One Services transformed my 1960s ranch into a modern house with an open concept kitchen/living room and two remodeled baths. They made my house accessible for a person with physical disabilities with creative solutions that integrated form and function. From the start, communication was clear, timely, and professional. The contract was detailed and they kept on schedule. As with any older home, there were a few minor “surprises” but did not interfere with the project. All crew members took great care in their work and treated the renovation with excellent detail, cleanliness, and pride-- just like they would their own home.Recently, I hired them to paint the house exterior and build a backyard patio. We had our roof replaced on our home and had four skylights removed and permanently sealed. We had Exceptional One do the inside work on framing, insulating, and installing drywall, and painting the ceiling area for each skylight in our Kitchen-eating area and Great Room. The finished work is FANTASTIC! There is no sign that skylights were ever in the ceiling! The workmanship on this job is EXCELLENT! The preparation work and clean-up for this for job was OUTSTANDING! We had Exceptional One do a big renovation at our house 3 years ago. Recently we needed some touch ups due to normal wear, so just a small job. I was super impressed with the whole process. They made me feel like my small job was their number one priority. That is super rare these days! First Dan and Scott came and checked out the work needed. They had some great suggestions on preventive maintenance we could do in the future. Then Victor and his son came and did the repairs. They are so professional and super friendly and the results were fantastic. It looks as perfect as the day it was originally done. You cannot tell that any patch work was done at all. And in typical Exceptional One style, they went beyond the list that I prepared and corrected things that I missed. I am sitting here looking at it now and could not be happier. Exceptional 1 Services is the company we call for all our house repairs, remodels, and updates. Their name truly reflects their business. They are “exceptional” at what they do and are the only “1” you need to engage. They take care of everything. Dan Messer is not only knowledgeable and experienced; he’s delightful to work with. His personality and smile are priceless. His office staff and construction crew is “top notch”. Dan comes to your home, listens to what you want, provides options, makes recommendations, answers your questions and gives you time to make decisions. He steps you through the entire process, coordinates the work, and continually keeps a dialogue with you throughout the work. Ten years ago they replaced our deck, remodeled our living room, kitchen, dining room, and hallway bath. Since then, they've painted our shutters, fixed sagging siding, replaced electrical components, installed a ceiling fan and hung a big screen TV. This year they’ve replaced our roof and gutters, refreshed the paint from the last remodel including two bedrooms. They are just finishing new flooring in the master bedroom and custom tile and flooring in our new walk-in shower bath. An update of the entryway and stairs will soon follow. Exceptional One competed many interior renovation projects in our home just before we purchased it: bathrooms, kitchen, landscape, hard scape, roof, etc. The quality and design is top notch. A few weeks after moving in there were severe thunderstorms and we noticed the next day we had we drywall in the garage ceiling and wall. Within a couple days he had the roofing contractor out who found it was a collection of debris at a pinch point in the roof design between gables causing pooling and seepage. He cleaned it all out and let me know 1-2 per year I’ll need to just make sure it’s cleaned out to be sure it doesn’t happen again. 2 days after that we had Victor out where he cut out any area that got damp, explained the process, showed me everything along the way, made sure to replace the drywall, mud and paint. It looks brand new and I couldn’t be happier. Dan even is following up with me on a couple of boulders for the hard scape that he committed to delivering to the previous home owner and will do so for me. They stand by their work and their word. Exceptional One review July 2019Our home is in Dublin near the Scioto river and has wood siding and wood-framed windows. It is now a little over 30 years old. Many of the windows no longer functioned and the seals had failed. We began our search for a company who would/could do repairs and replacements in the Summer of 2018. Several reputable window companies came out to look and were unable to help us. The windows are high off the ground on a sloping lot and the original window manufacturer was out of business. While we had a good number of windows that needed to be replaced we were also keeping many so a cohesive uniform look was important. We were given Dan Messer’s name by a specialist contractor and invited him out to look at our window situation. Dan made a very thorough inspection of our windows and spent time talking with us and explaining procedures.We were a bit startled to receive a bid to prepare a bid but we realized preparing the bid would be a great deal of detailed work which would be done by the actual carpenters, and also removing and boarding up the windows to replace is work, so we agreed. Not only did we need to replace about ten windows but ten others needed repair. It took months to find a window company that could make the exact window profile we needed but they were found. We received a detailed estimate for the work and Dan reviewed it all with us. Scaffolding would be involved and we made the decision to have Dan/Exceptional One bid on siding repair and replacement then staining to be done at the same time. This would turn out to be a large and expensive project but we truly felt Dan had the experience and skills to do all the work well. We met more of his team and our confidence increased. Adam, the overall project manager was in frequent contact, kept us informed and asked checked in about how things were going. Abbie in the office did a great job with the contracts and updating us on info and changes to the schedule. Jim the Carpenter is skilled and a fine problem solver-he was able to use the wood and glass from a window being replaced to fix another to save us money. Ever, the construction manager, was also very good at his job. We had different crews at the house for different aspects of the projects but everyone stayed busy and the work progressed well. The workers were considerate and respectful and we also felt they were trustworthy. Very important as they were in and out of our home on a daily basis for several weeks. There were a couple of times where they discovered there was more work than they expected – our chimney and siding around sliding balcony doors, but they photographed the disrepair and again prepared additional estimates and sought our approval before moving ahead with additional work. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work and how it was done. We have asked Exceptional One to bid on a new project – expanding and screening in our balcony.
