Kalfas Construction did a great job refinishing our basement. Could not have asked for a nicer staff. The work was thorough, the clean up was great, the finished product is better than we imagined. I would highly recommend.

I recently hired R.A. Kalfas to complete a major home remodel at my residence following a significant weather related event this past summer. Overall, I had an extremely positive experience with this company. Chris took the time to hold several meetings with us prior to the start of the project to review the scope of the contract and all available options. The workers utilized by R. A. Kalfas were knowledgeable in construction, friendly, clean and more importantly, demonstrated effective workmanship. Chris and/or the owner came by daily to monitor and supervise. With a project of this size, there’s always going to be a few hiccups here and there (for example, we found that I had a major bee problem developing near my chimney). The Kalfus team was quickly to recommend solutions so work could proceed. We had no issue with the city inspection and the city inspectors were actually complimentary as to Kalfas’ work and their solid reputation in the community. I would highly recommend this company for residential construction projects and will likely call them again in the future.

I had an appointment to get some work done on my house. Chris came, took measurements and pictures and said he would call in a few days and go over a quote.Days turned to weeks and he has never called. I know they have my number because the appointment was rescheduled for their benefit a few times.If the work wasn’t enough for them to do, or they didn’t want the job, it would have been the right and professional thing to do just to let me know. Now I will associate them as unresponsive and unprofessional since they handled my situation this way.

RUN from this family owned debacle of a company!We signed on to do an addition.I should have gone with a professional competent non sourced out builder.The daughter is VP..big deal..son In law married owners daughter,he is VP of sales..he promnises more then he can deliver..Their excavator David from Kromer Concrete is another beauty!Arrives in September, should have started in august, when I called Chris, I was given a multitude of excuses, the weather is Rainey, too cloudy, not good! I mentioned there is nothing wrong with the weather, he must have thought I was stupid..at the origination, THEIR electrician FAILED to install an outside switch connecting to coach lite..My city inspector FAILED INSPECTION!Port a potty delivered august, use stated in September, IT WAS NEVER SERVICED AND REEKED till I broke the contract non ocotober.No calls ahead of time advising who would be arriving for the next projectTheir drywall guys showed up,at the front door, we weren’t home they left.Kalfas put the blame on us saying there was no acces to the back.Another lie and excuse, all they had to do was walk in the back.Caulking NOT COMPLETED, another city Inspection FAILED!My husband had to finish re caulking the missed spots..Their arch guy, JAY remember this name, from then time he showed up he didnt want to do the arch, he said to me I’m going home after this!My husband kept questioning him about the header, Jay had enough grabbed his garbage sped out of our drive!Kalfas had the NERVE to bill us for a days lost wages!I refused..I broke the contract, had a reputable builder friend complete the mess..On time no questions asked..Kalfas billed us 8000.00 for unfinished work.I’m made Courtney daughter squeal 8 months..They were given it in ALL SINGLES!Chris son in law wanted my bank to count it!Plus a receipt, manager said unless you are depositing or have an account. I!No receipt either since MY ACCOUNT NUMBER is on it..Another tidbit their foreman or supervisor Michael, after the AMISH incorrectly installed my French doors did not lock properly, Michael fiddled around with the hinges,removed both door sweeps, took them and left.There was a Pella rep and repair repairing it, 400.00 out of pocket.STAY AWAY FROM RAKALFAS 12001Prospect Rd Strongsville OhioCourtney is a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR! When we had a meeting she advised the port a potty was to be serviced 2x weekly, ANOTHER ONE OF HER LIES! I HAVE it recorded on my fone..Courtney edits her lies to have clients believe they are an upstanding company!Far from it, a rep from a window company has a client who is having problems with KALFAS!IF YOU NOTICE THEIR REVIEWS THEY ARE NOT CURRENT,YOU MAY find 1…check the date..it was when MR Kalfas operated his company,not this dog and pony show!!!Courtney’s stories fabricated…read my recent review on the BBB. By the way Kalfas AAA rating is PAID BY KALFAS to appear they are a worthwhile reputable company..FAR FROM IT….DO NOT SIGN!!!!YOU WIL HAVE MANY REGRETS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS.CARPE DIEM~

Agree with the last review. Hired to build garage addition. Multiple problems! Worst is what we call Lake Kalfas in the new driveway since the whole pitch is off to the existing driveway. They use partime subcontractors who come after their real jobs to do your work (E.g. excavator) in the dark. The driveway wasn’t even built to the blueprint size. I am only here because I am looking for concrete contractor to fix the mess and while reading their reviews, I wanted to see Kalfas reviews . GOOD LUCK if you hire this family run business with lots of promises until you sign the contract.

Hired R.A.Kalfas for construction quality review of an existing job. Review was completed in less than 24 hours, exceeding our expectations.We were so impressed with R.A. Kalfas experience an expertise. They are now building our new dream home.

Professionalism stops after contract signed. They are all related and stick together in their lies. From the brother in law architect to the son in law VP, to the supervisor they work together together to talk in circles. They promise one thing and when it’s time to finish they say it’s not in print. All working together to rip you off. Our 2-3 month project is now going on 6 and nothing is finished yet. Today August 31st 2020 we were told maybe another week. Our project started inApril. I would highly recommend NOT using this company.Service: Remodeling
