This was the best experience I have had with a contractor. Corey was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions from beginning to end and was always responsive and friendly. Anytime we had a concern he was willing to hear us and resolve it. We were able to have an estimate, financing, and installation completed within 1 week which is almost unheard of. The crew was respectful and did an excellent job installing and cleaning up. Corey was present when the work began and when it was completed to make sure that we were completely satisfied and comfortable with our experience. I had a great experience with Salgau Roofing!I received three estimates on my roof, and Salgau was the middle estimate. The largest estimate was $4,000 more than Salgau. And when they came out the man was very condescending and spoke down to me and my adult daughter, who was visiting from Texas (she's an RN). He admonished me and told me my roof should have been replaced 5 years ago. ---I already knew my roof was bad......THAT'S WHY HE WAS THERE! When he left, my daughter and I felt like scolded children, so I decided I did not want to give them my money.The lower estimate was $1,500 lower. I received the estimate 3 days later than they said I would. (Three days isn't unreasonable, but a quick message saying it would take longer would have been appreciated). The estimate wasn't an itemized proposal, but one paragraph with a price. When I asked questions it took awhile for them to respond, and I felt like they were hard to get a hold of. I looked up their address which was a bit deceiving, because their Suite # is actually a PO box number, and I felt if I needed to get a hold of them after the job was done that it may be difficult. I asked about a warranty and he said there was a one year warranty on labor. (Salgau has a 10 year warranty on labor, and a limited lifetime warranty from Owens Corning on the shingles)When Corey (from Salgau) came out he was kind and professional. He sent an itemized estimate that same day. Salgau's estimate was the only one that included pictures of my roof. I went back and forth asking questions and Corey always replied promptly. I apologized for asking some dumb questions, and he made sure to tell me none of my questions were dumb and to 'ask away' making sure I understood everything and was comfortable with the whole process.I had a full tear down and replacement, and I can't believe it was done in one day (very hard workers)! -Except the copper flashing on my chimney, which was done the next morning. That same day I received the receipt, the labor warranty, and the info for the Owens Corning warranty---which Corey also helped me with.When they were done they cleaned up. My yard, driveway, and walkway looked better than it did before they started! My neighbors have complimented my new roof. And, for the first time ever, I looked forward to the rain that was forecasted yesterday....my leaky roof no longer leaks! :)I am so happy with my new roof, and very comfortable with my decision to choose Salgau. I highly recommend Salgau Roofing. And thank you especially to Corey. Use them!!! Best price, best service, best quality!!! My first experience with Nicolai was to repair a badly damaged 100 year old clay tile roof. I was scared the cost to fix it would be more than the house was worth. His professionals fixed it, replacing all bad hips and valleys with copper flashing and they found the original tiles to replace the broken ones. It's gorgeous! The neighbors thought it was a new tile roof!!! I also had a duplex that needed a new asphalt roof. Salgau's estimate was one of the lowest AND they used copper flashing (that lasts 100 years, so I don't expect any chimney leaks in my lifetime). Wonderful family owned business that is simply the best roofing company in the Toledo area. I've used several on investment properties and my home. Salgau Roofing replaced my roof on 11-14-23 after the damage from the Point Place tornado/hail storm. Connor was the Sales rep who was very straight-forward and honest. Connor was helpful in selecting the shingle color as we were having issues deciding. Connor brought samples for my wife and I to hold up to the house and garage. Connor was always available to answer my questions and help give me direction when I needed some help deciding on vent type etc...Nicolai the owner came to our house twice the day of the roof tear-off and re-installation. He was very helpful in having his crew pull down the gutters on the house and garage. His crew tore off an old metal chimney that was very unsightly. Nicolai was up on the roof with the crew checking everything and giving advice if there was a question. Nicolai left us 1 and 1/2 bundles of shingles as we are thinking of building a dog house.Salgau roofing crew consisted of 14 men that were very experienced and hard working. The crew started working as soon as they arrived. They replaced areas on the roof that had rotten wood without being asked or told to so. Everyone knew their job and worked together as a team. I could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone was polite and courteous to us during the entire process.Connor stopped after all the work was done and inspected the roof on the house and garage. Connor sent us the invoice and receipt along with the warranty the next day. Connor helped me over the phone with info that Owens-Corning asked for on their website to warranty the materials. Great company to work with.

Thankfully we were able to have Salgau Roofing not only finish the roof installation but they did it in one day 😀. We are so pleased with there workers doing the roof installation.

Take a look at before and after pics. Salgau did an excellent job. I have a slate roof that needed a lot of work. Friendly crew, professional, and their work is thorough. They also clean up well. I talked to many people about who to do the work on my slate roof and Salgau was the only name mentioned.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Pricing was very competitive with other companies in the area, but the price was only a small part of why we chose Salgau. We really admired hearing how Nikolai and his wife treat their employees as family. Corey showed a genuine interest in ensuring we were not only satisfied, but impressed. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had along the way. Scheduling was very prompt (within a week of receiving the proposal). The delivery of materials and supplies was literally within 5 minutes of when Corey said they would arrive. The crew was extremely motivated, while not overlooking the details. They were very respectful to our family and property. They were also very respectful with their work hours and making noise, which was very important for our young children and neighbors. The Salgau team did a fantastic job with our roof. We have an old home that we purchased knowing it would be a restoration that took years. The roof was in worse shape than we thought and Salgau took their time, were patient with our needs, and did fantastic work. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this company whole-heartedly. I dealt with multiple companies over the last couple years who either didn't want to tackle the work or simply didn't respond at all. Very pleased with the entire process of getting a new roof. The crew was incredibly reliable and efficient-- they started and completed the job exactly when they said they would, and did high quality work. They worked for 12 hours straight the first day, and finished about 8 hours into the second day. The owner came out a few times to keep an eye on the work and made a point to make contact with us each time. Really professional. We have had neighbors who chose other companies that took 2 or 3 weeks to get the same amount of work done. We had some major repairs done to a flat roof and slate tile roof. This company is very responsive, courteous, professional, and went above and beyond to get this neglected roof back in order. The gentlemen who worked on the roof are true craftsman. They were awesome in letting me know what they did that day, and what they found if out of the ordinary. They even cleaned out a few gutters and cleaned off an aluminum roof that had debris from a previous repair from years ago. And they even repaired a chimney that had some mortar issues. I will definitely be back if they are needed in the future and recommend them to all. We have had a very rainy summer and so far we are DRY! No more leaks! The peace of mind I have now is so very much appreciated. I am so grateful to have found Salgau Roofing and have these talented people do this work. I contacted Salgau roofing to replace our 27 yr old roof on our recently purchased home as well as possible repairs on our chimney. From the beginning Nicolai was honest with me and said the chimney job was too large for him and his crew to handle and recommended a great mason in the area. I appreciated this because he would have easily lied and patched it up but he was so honest. Because of our chimney issue we weren’t able to move forward with the roof right away. Once the chimney was installed we found out the damage to our roof and the patch job done by the previous owner was so bad that would probably not last another Ohio winter without issues. He was able to get our roof replaced 2 weeks after me contacting him about these new concerns. The crew was always at our home early and worked diligently all day. I appreciated how the crew kept the area around our house very clean throughout the day and would clean up at the end of the day so it was minimal disturbance to my neighbors...or at least as little as roofing can be. My neighbor who used to do roofs even commented on how great of a job they did and how he was going to obtain a quote for himself. As far as pricing, it was very reasonable and consistent with other quotes I got in my area, but ultimately went with Salgau roofing after my interaction with Nicolai because he seemed like an honest person. Requested this business to perform a roofing estimate on my elderly parents home. Salgau roofing performed the estimate. In the estimate they wanted all the money upfront $8700. I was giving the company the benefit of doubt and ask for clarification thinking this was a mistake. Nicolai communicated that they want all money upfront for work performed in the area that my parents live due to past experiences of being scammed. He said he had to pay lawyers and fees to recoup his money. I ask him how am i to know that you will finish the job as contracted and he said the company has been around for thirty years with a good reputation. As many people know that means nothing when paying for this type of work to be performed. I was appalled!!!!!!!I am an advocate for the elderly and Nicolai confirmed to me that Salgau roofing is not a trusted business for the elderly. Overall this company have discrminatory practices whereby not all customers are treated the same. Customers on the Northside of Toledo (where this estimate was performed) have to pay all monies upfront before any work starts leaving themselves vulnerable when other area customers do not have to pay all monies upfront.Needless to say i am not selecting this business.

I can't say enough good things about Salgau Roofing. We'd gotten a couple of estimates. Nikolai showed up super prepared. After his inspection, he showed us pictures of all of our potential problems He explained everything in such a way that we could make an informed decision. We got our estimate a couple of days later. It included absolutely everything. His workers busted their butts. They discovered a problem with a pipe causing leakage into our house. He had someone out to help us within the hour. Aside from the plumbing problem, also very reasonable charge, he stuck to the estimate. That was a huge concern of ours. They finished faster than I expected, and cleaned absolutely everything up. The Salgau Roofing Team was Great from start to finish.The owner, Nicolai, was present at every step of the job from the estimate, to the explanation of the work, the installation, the daily clean up, and the final walk thru. The entire crew of five was extremely polite, informative, and hard-working! They did a fast, professional job and were careful not to damage any plants along the sides of our home.The work was completed over a period of three days in between rainstorms. The roofers replaced and sealed areas of leaking flat roof, counter sunk and sealed copper flashing on our leaking chimneys, and thoroughly removed leaves and debris from our gutters and twenty-thirty foot downspouts.The two other companies that offered work estimates for this job gave significantly higher proposals and were not as responsive, professional, or personable.We’re happy to report that it has since stormed and there is no more leaking and our gutters flow freely! We are very satisfied with the work the Salgau team did and would highly recommend them to all our neighbors and friends.
