Beware of Ability Roofing for repairs! We contacted Ability Plus Roofing for an estimate on replacing our failed ridge caps iOctober 2023. On their recommendation, we agreed to have them do a repair instead of a full replacement. Their company assured us that this was not an unusual repair for roof caps, and that they performed this work regularly. A full contract of the work to be completed was agreed on to include fully seal hip and ridge shingles/ridges and seal all exposed nails. After their employee came on Oct 31, 2023, and did the job, we were supposed to receive pictures of the work completed. The employee didn’t let us know he was finished with the job, he just left at some point in the day. No pictures were provided despite multiple requests on our part. We received different answers as to why no pictures had been sent. The file was too big, the email address wouldn’t allow the files to be received. An additional email address was provided, but still no pictures. However, we did get notification that our payment was past due despite not receiving an invoice. We requested a copy of the invoice, and paid immediately by check placing it in the mail that business day. When they had not received the check in 5 days, we received a call asking why they had not received payment? As the check was mailed, I couldn’t explain this but did again ask for the pictures of the completed work. Ability received payment within the next day or so and we let it go, never receiving the requested pictures. During the wind storm on March 9, 2024, a skylight blew off our roof. We contacted a roofer who came the same day as water poured through the missing skylight. To our surprise, the roofer inspecting the damage to the skylight reported that the ridge caps r and nails had not been properly or completely sealed as per the contract. He proceeded to provide us with multiple pictures which clearly showed this problem. We contacted Ability the next business day and informed them of the poor work that had been performed and sent them copies of the pictures without difficulty. We requested a refund for the work not completed by Ability as we now had little trust they had ever intended to do the job properly in the first place and we were now needing to replace the ridge caps as first requested. Ability responded that they would not issue a refund, they were only willing to come and re-do the job. That was the extent of their guarantee. Unfortunately, as senior citizens we would not be able to access the roof to inspect any job done by Ability and declined to have them return. We are now out the original payment plus the cost of having the replacement completed months after torrential downpours over the past months. Pictures of the work done by Ability are attached. Two years ago we discovered that most of the rubber vent boots on the roof had deteriorated. We called Ability Plus and they sent a crew out. They inspected the roof and then made the needed repairs to vent boots and also some flashings around the chimney.I write this two years later because the repairs were excellent and are still holding up well. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price for those repairs.I recommend them highly.

The folks at Ability Plus Roofing delivered in every way to repair our roof that was damaged after a recent wind storm. The damage we saw wasn't as extensive as many of our neighbors but Karl and Carrie made us feel like we were important in their efforts to provide a bid and to make the repairs. Their bid was competitive and the quality of the repairs was exceptional. Post-repair, they cleaned up and probably left the ground area surrounding the repair in better shape than it was when they arrived. Ability Plus is A+ in every way!

Ability Roofing replaced our roof in January, in the rain and they did a truly amazing job. Even though it was raining they kept the inside of the house dry. They gave me daily updates of where they were in the process and any challenges they came accross. I have an older house which needed quite a few panels replaced because of dry rot and they did a great job of fitting the new panels into the existing roof. There quote was pretty much right on, I did pay a little more but that was for the new panels which I was already of aware of what the cost would be so there were no surprises. Ability was very responsive when I called them after discovering a leak in my roof. Karl was out the same day to inspect and provide repair options. The next business day I had a proposal and was able to schedule the repair quickly and at a time that worked for me. From start to finish Ability Plus Roofing did an awesome job! I originally found them through Next Door Bethany recommendations. I was very pleased with the reviews and also my follow up calls to homeowners who used them. We are very happy with the service your company has provided. We needed to put a new skylight in. The two gentlemen who came out to give us our estimate were friendly, professional, and prompt with emailing us a bid. The gentleman who installed our skylight did an excellent job. We were charged what the bid was for. We really appreciate the prompt, excellent service. We were happy that it didn't take very long at all from start to finish. They were very honest and charged us a very good price. The bid doesn't include any cosmetic work that might need to be done to the inside. We were fine with that. Ability did a great job on our new roof. Not only did we get an estimate very quickly, we needed to get scheduled quickly due to a home refinance. They were able to get us done before the appraiser came out which was perfect. Their workmen were good about clean-up. Office staff were efficient. My roof is under a lot of trees and needs to be cleaned every 1-2 years to get the moss off. Ability Plus Roofing has been the best company I have worked with!
