I had a colonoscopy yesterday, nurse Chad and nurse John were amazing not to mention Dr. Jessica Carlson who were all amazing!!!

Had my first colonoscopy at Curry General Hospital. From reception to the Gastro-department, It's light, airy, efficient and everyone is professional and friendly. From start to finish, I met nothing but first class attention from everyone involved. I didn't feel like a number, I felt like a person. Dr. Jessica Carlson was very approachable even prior to my appointment, answering all my questions over the phone with an easy going and knowledgeable manner. As soon as I put the phone down I knew I was in good hands and relaxed.I cannot remember the names of all those involved in my care, nor how they spell their names; but they were all "stars" in their own right too! Sean/Shaun (?), John, (I think there was more than one!) Elizabeth - and Janet. Sorry for all those I have missed, but your faces and kindness I will always remember. In a world where people are quick to complain, and slow to give "Thanks", I wish to say a resounding "Thank You To You All". You are all first class, and I had a very good experience. Two Thumbs Up!

I received excellent treatment from everyone on staff at Curry General Hospital including the administrative staff, the lab techs, the nursing staff and the surgeon who performed my surgery. Dr. Jessica Carlson and her nursing team were standouts and really went out of their way to clearly communicate all of my options and explained the procedure to me thoroughly. They were all kind and compassionate while delivering quality medical treatment with the highest degree of professionalism. I couldn't be happier with the follow-up care I received and my outcome after surgery. I hope to never need to go back to the hospital but would feel very confident receiving future care from this skilled group of providers.

My husband had an acute allergy attack on our recent camping vacation. He was treated quickly and by very efficient people. They saved our vacation. Great place.

Went to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. As soon as the staff was advised why I was there, they immediately got me into a room and began taking information from me and taking vitals, as well as hooking me up for an EKG. Dr. Hani Darwich arrived in my room quickly and read the EKG as well as spoke with the nurse (Jamie), who by the way, was an absolute doll! Competent, professional, compassionate, kind and funny. Dr. Darwich did further examination on me and had labs drawn. After reviewing all materials, he determined I did not have a heart attack, but "possibly" a gallbladder issue. Asked if I wanted some pain med, which I did, and he prescribed just the right amount, knowing I didn't want much. Dr. Darwich ordered a CT scan of my abdomen (unfortunately there was no tech available to perform an ultrasound), which was performed by Brittany - another sweetheart. After reviewing the results and further examination of my abdomen, he decided to consult with another Dr. It was determined that I would follow up with that Dr. the following week for further exam and possible ultrasound. I was sent home with instructions on diet, as well as an antibiotic. I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff at the hospital. Everyone of them treated me with such kindness and caring. And Dr. Harwich was so knowledgeable, yet explained everything to me in a way that I could easily understand. He never rushed me with my questions and took as much time as I needed to clearly understand everything. My experience with Curry General Hospital was definitely a positive one!

Great ER staff. Polite and efficient. I felt they were much better than most all ER hospitals I have been too. 2 minute wait and I'm in the room with care givers. Thank you

I had a test done recently In Curry General (Gold Beach) which required anesthesia. Every step of the way I was met with courtesy and competency. The nurses "in charge" of me were great - so friendly, informative & reassuring. I don't have one negative thing to say about my experience. The new hospital is SO much cleaner and better in every way than the old one (which was pretty bad!) Thanks to doctors, anesthetist, nurses & receptionists.

Best hospital staff. They have very good doctors that take your care into priority. You can trust this hospital to make every effort to nurse you back to good health. The employees need to be recognized for their contributions to our community. Thank you to entire CGH team! You’re the best investment this region has ever made. A rock during the pandemic and feel safe knowing we have this great facility.

I had to take my Husband in today for an Emergency Arthritis Attack. He was flaring up very bad, and on top of that was in Pulmonary Distress. He has over 20 years of records of Arthritis and we brought in paperwork stating the MG dosage he took in the past for these issues. The Doctor was very rude, unprofessional. I even spoke to the Doctor myself as his Wife some one who been with him years, who witnesses these attacks who been with him to doctor appointments. He completely ignored my Husband (The Patient) and Myself about his Arthritis and Breathing Distress which he takes Inhalers for and was needing an Inhaler today, his excuse for my Husbands Flare Up was he is from Portland he does not know anything, and he is filling in because they cannot keep doctors in Curry General. This is a disappointment, he was given 600mg of Ibuprofen when he showed paperwork stating 800mg and he told my Husband he has a strained knee with fluid in it and just go home nothing you can do when he did an MRI on it. I should study medicine, get a degree from a cereal box like this doctor did and open a clinic, id do a lot better than this Doctor and id actually be helping people....its not a lack of resources, or money, or "doctors" its a lack of RESPECT for their patients and complete laziness and greed. Do your damn job and actually help people, this is why all your doctors leave because there probably tired of the excuses you give them too. They talked bad about my husband behind his back while he was in a room waiting too so shows the professionalism. Is that even ethical they can talk about my husbands weight and make jokes? In my opinion you should keep your bad doctors in Portland.

Absolutely horrible establishment. My friend is a doctor there for urgent care and told me to come see her. However the staff that works in scheduling are extremely rude. After weeks to an entire month of trying to reach doctors I finally get information for each one (I needed to speak to many specialist's since I just moved to town). Now they're saying I'm rude because they wouldn't pick up the phone or call me back in weeks and are cancelling my appointments to see my friend. Absolutely horrible staff.Edit in response to their response. Then why is my friend the urgent care doctor? I can say however this is gold beach and meant for your services in general. I'm adding my review to Brookings. However, this review remains as my experiences were the same. Something seriously wrong with our healthcare when doctor sees you for 30 second only to say he not going to help you but then gives you instructions to return of it gets worse. I'm already here don't you think it's not already the worst?

I am so surprised at the bad reviews on here. I almost didn't go in because they scared me. But oh my gosh. This place was amazing. All the nurses and the technician was the best. . Dr. Haney was amazing and explained everything to me. I was totally impressed. Clean hospital, attentive, and very kind. One of my better experiences in ER...

I cannot describe in words the blessing of an experience I just had at Curry General.I am a type 1 diabetic of 39 years, and recently moved to Gold Beach from a very big city. Due to a complication in the way the Oregon Health Plan operates, my prescription for insulin was not filled, and I needed an alternate prescription and it was on a Saturday, no way to get a doc. I walked into the ER and not only was the friendly front desk staff ready to help me, but the doctor was right there listening to my particulars and LITERALLY WROTE ME MY PRESCRIPTION right then and there. The ENTIRETY of my trip from front door of my apartment and back home took 15 minutes. I had tasked my wife with putting my son to bed instead of me tonight, expecting to be in the ER for at least a good hour or two and I was LITERALLY HOME BEFORE HE WAS EVEN ASLEEP.I left literally almost crying tears of joy for how pleasant my life experience has become after this dealing with Curry General. Kudos to you for being the first hospital to ever treat me like a real human being. I would recommend as a course of medical professionals for ANYBODY in the community. Hands down.

My father came into the ER after being hit by a vehicle while he was riding his bike. The ER staff said he didn’t have anything broken or injured from an X-ray exam. He went in again a week later to get checked out again because he was still in a lot of pain. All they did was inject him with a pain killer and sent him on his way. He went in a second time and they did the same. He went to another provider to find out that he actually broke a bone in his knee. Full negligence from this hospital. Do not recommend.

As a first time patient, I am extremely disappointed with the ER side of the hospital. The staff up front was nice and quick friendly and helpful. Once back in the room the doctor and male nurse are very unprofessional and way to full of them selfs. The male nurse will smack his gum in your face while he hooks you up and hollers over to the room across the hall at another patient while you have a pounding headache. The male doctor will tell you your dehydrated and to drink up to 4 gallons of water a day for someone my size “230 lbs 6ft2inch male”. Seems to me like he could use up to 10 more years of schooling. Other than the doctor and nurse the hospital looks great hopefully the doctoral staff can learn to work harder than the janitorial staff the ER was very clean.

Unprofessional and snarky toward my significant other who wanted to come back into the room with me, the doctor was also snarky and rude about the visit in general. Would not recommend going here. They took their sweet time and changed my rooms twice even though all I needed was a prescription. Go to brookings or somewhere else. Don't waste your money here.

I wrote a review that was taken down. Now I'm writing another. This is the next day from that first review where I was told I was ok. I went to the ER in Crescent city the next day. I have been diagnosed with acute bronchitis. I was given an antibiotic drip and 2 prescriptions of antibiotics because of the fluid build up in my lungs. At Curry General they did nothing but check for covid. I've also read other reviews. Your hospital seems to have issues with emergency staff. Try hiring someone who cares about people. That might work.

We had to make a trip to the emergency room on one of our visits as someone in our family had a small accident. The emergency room had very little waiting time and the staff seemed very courteous and helpful. We got in and out quickly and they helped to resolve our issue.

Wow, the service I received as soon as I walked into the emergency room Thursday morning was nothing short of superior. The nurses and docs while very busy for a small town hospital were attentive and engaged. We were never without service or someone to answer questions. Once we found out that the issue was more serious than anyone believed it to be all the right levers were pulled and buttons pushed. The surgical staff was called in the middle of the night and got us taken care of almost immediately. Things were moving pretty quickly but we were given concise information that eased our anxiety and made us comfortable with the upcoming procedure. Once on the ward all the nurses, aides, and staff were most helpful. Thank you to all that made a serious issue into a great outcome.

Went there for functional pulmonary test. They were very friendly; had me sanitize my hands; had to be covid tested before they would see me; waited for about 5 minutes (never got closer than 6' to anyone but my tester the whole time there). eVERYONE i SAW WAS WEARING MASKS. Ericka was great! explained every step and was friendly, professional, and appeared very competent. BEST HOSPITAL VISIT EVER!

I was on opiates for 20 years, when I got the courage to detox and come off them, I went into a suicidal psychotic state, a relative took me to the ER! The ER threatened my relative with the police, and I was thrown into a room had to undress with cameras on me, which I know was against my privacy rights.I had slept 11 hours in 7 days, I was experiencing opiate withdrawal insomnia.I was given a low dose of seroquel to calm me down. They released me drowsy, I walking home and was so confused I lost my perscription. The care was so horrible even in an emergency I will not go to the ER again.I made many complaints to different higher ups to no avail.

Drive up to Medford!! I repeat DRIVE to Medford. Do not go to this hospital for even a cut on your finger. They sent my dad home after haveing a stroke and told him to just contact his regular doctor. That was it just packed him up and sent him home. Very unprofessional im honestly surprised they haven't gotten a lawsuit.

Most horrible unprofessional staff I have ever seen. One nurse I had was rude, condescending, and had NO sympathy or empathy for me in agonizing pain. Doctor didn't even examine me or the area that was swollen and in pain. I had to turn down unnecessary test that had nothing to do with my injury. Then the doctor quickly sent me away w a big bill and in the same agonizing pain, without any anti inflammatory meds nor even a referral!!I sat in my car in the ER parking lot and cried over this experience. Shame on them!

Not an adequate facility to provide emergency care.Staff does not take covid seriously, not screening visitors, neither wearing masks themselves nor requiring visitors to mask.Listening to the nurses congregate at their station, never talking quietly, a person could find out every medical and personal problem of not only the staff but also of patients.... they LOVE to talk and talk loudly! Some employees do not like the management very much 🤣🤣🤣🤣Apparently, they are understaffed as one nurse boasted about working their 6th straight night, having to go back and forth to Brookings and Gold Beach...is that even safe? They have lots of traveling nurses? but are having a hard time getting anyone to come in... I wonder why?A patient that has the covid, one young Asian woman puts on yellow gowns and mask and plastic shield but the doctor stands in the open doorway talking to the patient (tall, thin, dark hair, talks fast with a stutter and a foreign accent). The police bring in a patient screaming and kicking, so violent, scaring the staff, stay for a little bit and then leave. The women staff, faced with a big man yelling and screaming, threatening them, and I didn’t see any hospital security and only the man doctor but he didn’t do anything but talk, and talk, and talk. The nurses told about one of their doctors recently getting choked by a violent patient, they called 9-1-1 but Gold Beach apparently does not have any police at night so they had to call an officer from home. What kind of place is Gold Beach? What a place these people have to work in.Take a night and visit this hospital emergency room, bring popcorn and a coke and enjoy the show🤪👍🍿🥤

On Saturday morning December 11, 2021 at 1 a.m. I was taken by ambulance from the Curry Health Urgent Care to the Gold Beach Hospital for a life-threatening problem. I am giving a 5-star rating for the excellent professional and compassionate treatment I was given by everyone who cared for me - All of them helped save my life.

Dr peipmeimer (sp?) was the most unprofessional doctor i have ever met. I have 7+ years working as a counselor and have accompanied many clients of all backgrounds with a spectrum of issues, both physical and mental, to appointments in the greater Eugene Portland metro area. Never have I witnessed a more unprofessional doctor or nursing staff. Only the front desk clerk was professional. The dr came in the room, left the door slightly open, and quickly went on a long winded explanation of how under funded the hospital was and how it took 8 hours of other patients being transferred out of the hospital. This obviously made my client feel undeserving of care and unimportant. Secondly, his only offer to my client suffering from heroin withdrawal was to watch an actor's depiction of the "horrible and painful process" in a Hollywood movie. I was absolutely dumbfounded. He said the only option was a methadone clinic in salem or portland, though stated they often had "years" of wait lists. He gave no encouraging words, no hope, no affirmation or a positive word in taking a first step in getting sober. My client stated they didn't appreciate his joking about a movie. In a raised voice he aggressively stated he wasn't joking and was "very, very serious". When i pointed this out in a calm manner and asked if he always quoted a movie, he became agitated, rude, short, and slightly aggressive (raised voice, standing up from chair, quick movements, defensive, argumentative, abrasive in tone). I've seen ER doctors remain serenely calm with schizophrenic episodes! This man exhibited absolutely none. He said his movie quote "went over well with other clients". I encouraged him to find other means. . he aggresively stated "I think we are done here" and left abruptly. The nurse returned, said nothing, and handed our discharge papers. There was much stigma in the air and coldness. While consoling my crushed client who's first experience in getting help was obviously awful, they flashed the lights as if to tell us to leave in a more timely fashion, though it had barely been 2 minutes since the nurse has left the room. For anyone going here searching for methadone or suboxone to help with withdrawal and/or options on detox/ inpatient/ outpatient...1- they do not provide it though when we initially called the clerk said they could and deal with this all the time-FALSE. 2-salem has a clinic and after going for 1 week, you can have your prescription transferred for daily pick ups for up to 28 days until you need to return again for a short period of days. The waiting list for inpatient or outpatient programs are not "years" as this idiot dr would tell you. Look into the integrated health clinics. 3- the withdrawal period is *surprise* nothing like his hollywood movie (unless you are forced to go cold turkey i.e jail but in detox programs this isn't the case), they give you anti-anxiety medicatiom, muscle relaxers, and sleep medication in detox, it is not as horrendous as this baffon would describe. Do not let his movie quote scare you away from getting help. He is a absolute moron for stating this to a person bravely seeking help. The entire staff could use a GREAT deal of training in the disease of addiction AND the resources available in our state so as to better inform their patients and their families. Curry county has unfortunately been hit hard from the opioid epidemic and this hospital does nothing to help this lost, stigmatized, and vulnerable population. On a happy note, my client was brave enough to dismiss this first experience and found more capable help in Eugene and has since found sobriety.

After receiving a concussion the hospital refused to let me leave until after a mental health evaluation. I was not suicidal, I suffered an injury caused by an accident. The hospital refused to let me leave and even used passive restraints to prevent me from doing so. While most of curry health network provides amazing care, the emergency room and inpatient services are infuriating and unethical.
