Kay Builders is very accommodating, and took the time to work with me. They provide affordable luxury homes that are in great locations. Kay Builders went above and beyond all measures to assure that the closing process was easy and explained in detail.

* The Good - The option to customize is amazing, our home has great modifications from the plan, and they are happy to accommodate. The modifications in the home are truly spot on. and Incredible. The bad?- absolutely everything. The home is built with the lowest cost materials (imho) with the lowest cost sub-contracted workers (imho) (I think the electricians are legit) for a maximum profit (imho)."Customer service" is just a cog in the wheel. Once they get your deposit check it is all over (imo).Imagine buying a new car with a full warranty... Something goes wrong with the car, you take it to the garage.. the garage is closed, and there are cobwebs in the corners of the bays. No one returns your calls. Your car is broken... what do you do? no one returns your calls. That is the Kay experience (imo). As examples, I can feel wind coming through windows from one side of the home. My basement piping had a significant leak and I can no longer use an outside hose attachment. If you are considering buying from this company, Please walk through one of our communities. Knock on our doors our or just chat with one of us outside. As far as the outside....The landscapers wanted to plant a (soon to be ) illegal tree in our yard (Bradford Pear), and overall our yard is a disaster. By the time our extremely delayed home was delivered the land was very eroded to pebbles as the surface area. The grass was planted on rocks, and now the lot is not a sustainable for healthy grass growth. Also please see the picture. This is my completed back yard, completely acceptable and delivered from the company.*this is all my personal experience, all my opinions.

Our kitchen cabinet doors were literally falling off the hinges. Kay came to try to fix them (on Jan 16th to be exact) & found out they were installed upside down. They estimated that they would be replaced in 4-6 weeks. They left our house with no follow-up email after the visit. It is now going on week 10 & we still have had no replacement cabinets, staring at our dishes in the cabinet because of it. When we emailed them about this situation this week, they said there was a “miscommunication” and they will let us know when it’s all figured out.I regret not following up with them sooner but at least I did or else we’d go another 3 months with no kitchen cabinet doors.Up until this point, we have had a decent experience with Kay, but make sure you follow up with an email every time someone comes to fix something or else you will be left hanging.

Our experience with Kay has been nothing short of extremely frustrating - The Fields at RiverHill. We just surpassed the 2 year mark and are continually getting the run around regarding issues in our house since closing in March 2022.More specifically our kitchen - countertop uneven, backsplash higher on one side of the stove than the other side, cabinets were installed upside down - leading to an unfinished side where the microwave is, cabinets that still need replacing (cabinet was order a year ago, came in the wrong size and we have yet to see it), amongst other issues.A pipe under the sink and the our bathtub needs fixing - still have not had a plumber come out to fix it.The biggest frustration- you keep sending people out to look at the issue, and someone will come out and have no idea what they are fixing nor do they have the supplies to do so.It’s a constant back and forth with the warranty company. Please refer to email chain with Jodi from warranty for an complete all outstanding items and Dave from warranty took notes and pictures the last time he was here. I felt like we were getting somewhere with Dave, but it seems as if nothing is progressing.

I was very pleased with both the professionalism and courtesy given to both my buyers and myself by Pam Rowe and her team at Kay Builders. Our experience was seamless every step of the way due to Pam's communications with us and making sure we had a clear understanding of purchasing a new constructed home. The finished product met our expectations and the Project Manager was extremely helpful during our walk thru inspections. Thank all of you for giving us a wonderful experience. Kay Builders, does incredible work to allow you the freedom to really customize your home. I was able to make significant changes to the exisiting floor plan to allow me the dream home that I wanted to build. All of the people I have worked with from the designers, to foreman of the build to Kay Builders representative at Fields at Riverview, Pam were outstanding. Thanks Kay Builders

TrexlerField is a very nice community visually and neighbors wise. I think Kay Builders adopted their building practices over time so that the more current houses in the community are built based on that learning curve. That may be why you will see negative reviews interspersed with positive ones. That said, with any new build I'd highly recommend getting your best handyman or contractor to do each walk-through with you in each phase of the process. Luckily, we had my brother, and he was able to point out a lot of things that needed to be re-adjusted or fixed properly. None of them were major issues, and Kay did address every issue in a timely manner. Working with the salespeople was great. I will say that you need to do your homework on the important upgrades. Recommend at a minimum: solid core doors, insulated garage doors, gas range, toe kicks kitchen\bath, extra outlets, and ceiling fan boxes. If you have some extra money to spare, go for other upgrades such as kitchen faucet\sink, soft close dovetail draws, bathroom fans with higher air movement and wood flooring throughout the main floor. Don't think for the price you see you should get all those things included. We looked at many houses in the area that were more money and had the simplest construction possible. We were also lucky that Kay worked with us on getting to a price that was reasonable too, but that depends on the housing market at the time. Overall, we love the house and the area!

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Leah from the Design Center. She proved to be extremely knowledgeable and made the overwhelming process smooth and seamless. Leah’s expertise and guidance were invaluable, and what was most impressive was her ability to be helpful without being intrusive or overbearing. Throughout our interactions, it was evident that Leah genuinely had our best interests, as buyers, in mind. We are grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of design services.

After my wife and I made the life-changing decision to move closer to our children and their families, we fell in love with The Fields at Indian Creek in Emmaus. The entire process has been handled in a highly-professional manner with meticulous attention to detail. The sales staff (Sandy and Karen); our design studio coordinator (Leah); and our site supervisor (Jeremiah) have been great to work with. We can't wait to move into our new home in August!

We worked with Leah in the Kay Builders Design Studio. Believe it or not, designing a new home, not yet constructed, can be stressful. Leah made our experience enjoyable and she was very pleasant and professional through the process. She took time to understand the style we like and the look we were going for. She was very knowledgeable about Kay Builders options and pricing and was the helpful hand providing guidance through the decison making process. She didn't rush the decisions and was often willing to go back and re-evaluate choices we made to make sure that we were comfortable with the cohesive look of our new home. I am extremely impressed with Leah's knowledge and extremely grateful for her guidance throughout this process. She was a dream to work with as we planned and designed what we expect will be our dream home. Thank you, Leah.

If your thinking of purchasing a Kay builders home I would drive through the Fields at Jasper Ridge first. You can see how they have fully finished homes and left homeowners not only with unfinished but unusable yards. Instead of yards homeowners have dirt ands weeds with piles of rocks behind their homes. They are unable to put in porches, sheds and fences because Kay has not finished their properties after almost of year of the homes being sold and moved into. The actual homes have shotty cheap construction and your warranty requests will go ignored. The jasper ridge community have homes moved into in 2019 with warranty request items still not addressed and emails and follow ups go ignored.

Working with Leah in the Design Center was a wonderful experience. The time she took and the support she gave while we picked all our finishes for the new house was greatly appreciated. It can be overwhelming to make all those choices around a new home but she made it feel easy and fun.

UPDATE 5/29/21 - With this weekend's rain, water is AGAIN leaking into our garage. See photo below. This will be the 3rd or 4th time Kay has been out to to fix this leak. As you can see, it's across the entire width of the garage. You know what causes this? When people do CHEAP repairs instead of doing it right. How about building a home that doesn't leak in the first place? We went with Kay Builders to build a new single family home in the Lehigh Valley. Unfortunately, the experience has been a disaster, and I would urge folks to stay away from Kay Builders. The issues started almost immediately with our home delivered several months past the delivery date, causing us to incur additional expenses juggling movers and an apartment lease.Post move in, we've had to deal with many issues that you would not expect from a new home. Most frustrating to us, it has been a constant battle with Kay to get them to fix things - even major items.Issues we've had to deal with since moving into our home only 2 years ago:1) Cracked sink marble and floor tile. Floor tile is still not fixed.2) Marble sink not secured to cabinetry. I figured that out one night when the sink slid off the cabinet!3) Duct work not connected in basement, leading to insufficient heating and cooling of certain rooms4) Water leaking from master tub down into kitchen5) Water leaking into basement from multiple entry points6) Water leaking from garage roof into garage. It took several emails to get Kay to fix this, and it had to be done multiple times because it wasn't done right.7) Latest issue is our downstairs toilet stopped flushing. I had a plumber come out, and he assessed that the toilet is faulty and needs to be replaced. Toilets only last for 2 years now?Bottom line for us is you buy a new home to minimize issues, not this and to have to constantly fight with the builder to do things right. We built another home several years ago in another state with a different builder. It was delivered on time. The only "issues" we had post move in were minor paint touch ups. That home was half what we paid Kay Builders for this one riddled with problems. That speaks volumes!

Kay Builders provided us with a quality home at a fair market price during a strong seller’s market. We opted for a “quick delivery” home and the construction was completed on schedule, at the advertised cost, and with good quality. We have had no major issues with the home and those minor issues or concerns that we have had have been taken care of by them in a very prompt and professional manner. The sales, construction, and warranty departments all have been very professional and hard working to meet our expectations. The Fields at Constitution Square is a great townhome community with easy access to several businesses, restaurants, and parks and within reasonable walking distance of downtown Perkasie. The surrounding Bucks County area is absolutely beautiful and this is a great place to live!

As a first timer buying a "brand new" home Kay Builders was side by side with us. As any new homeowner there are things along the way, questions, concerns, and requests. We have had a positive and rewarding experience on all fronts. We love our new home, love our new community, are making new friends and feel welcome here.

We would like to share our experience with Kay Builders. We had a great time working with them. Being able to see the entire process from looking at the land that our house would be built on to walking around our finished house was amazing. Sales manager Joe Lorah was able to answer any of our questions quickly and professionally. We are also very grateful to the Design studio and site manager Brian Israel. From Osipov's family

We do like our new home but we had some hiccups during the process. The person working with us ( Frankie ) left and switched over to Virginia, and it seems there was not much communication between them about our status/ plan moving forward. We basically had to go over everything again with the new person. Then when we did put a deposit down on the house we coordinated a visit to the construction via email with Virginia. When we showed up there was another lady present who said she didn’t know we were coming and was pretty rude to us, despite us having email proof that we coordinated the visit and they confirmed. Then after we bought the house kay builders plumbers left some sort of stopper in our plumbing system and had to drill through the wall to remove it. Then our water heater didn’t work, apparently no one tested it before our move in and it had to be replaced. Then kay builders turned off our electricity in the middle of the winter! We weren’t moved in yet and didn’t even know if happened for a week, we are lucky a pipe didn’t freeze or have other issues. They didn’t give us any warning and when I called and asked them about it they said they ‘would never do that’, but the electricity company confirmed it was them.Although we like our home now I feel like maybe they rushed the process which led to several mistakes. We did like our construction leader, Justin. He was responsive and knowledgeable and got our water heater replaced quickly. Other than Justin, it seemed that the people who worked with kay were inconsiderate and rude at times!

We built a home with Kay about 18 mos ago and we are seriously disappointed! Although the location and layout of the house are exactly what we wanted, overall the craftsmanship and attention to detail is seriously lacking in our home. The materials used are clearly low quality. We paid to upgrade to white cabinets on our kitchen and they are already a mess and falling apart. The company has been very unresponsive to our complaints. Basically once we settled, it wasn’t their problem. Tile work is sloppy, uneven moldings, floors, and window frames. Most outrageous of all is the giant pile of dirt they left on our land for almost a year after we moved in. They were saving it to finish the retention pond next to our house. We literally had to complain to our township to get it taken care of and to get a fence around the retention pond.Even now the retention pond does not function appropriately and has standing water in it all the time. I would not go with Kay for your future building !

Kay Builders did excellent job building our custom home. Linda J. Minnich, Kay Builders Sales Manager is outstanding and helped us from start to end. Linda was very patient in answering the questions, upgrade requirements we had. Always we used to get quick response from Linda and the team. It was great that our house was closed few weeks early than anticipated.Thank you Linda, Shannon and KAY BUILDERS TEAM!!

My husband and I are more than pleased with our new home from Kay! This was our first new construction build and I can't begin to say how smooth everything went. Jimmy our sales agent was extremely thorough and helpful through the entire process. He answered all of my questions promptly. Chris the foreman was great as well. He took his time when showing us our new home room by room. There were a few minor things we noticed and he had it fixed that day. Plus our closing date came almost a month early. I would highly recommend Kay to all of my friends and family.

The Kay Builders Team from the start of our building experience, have been exceptional. For a custom built home Kay Builders exceeded my personalExpectations. All of the building crafts people, were outside our partially completed home at least one hour before of their scheduled appointment time. I would visit the homesite when my safety permitted, several times a week, and watch the framers, roofers, plumbers, tile and wood installers at their craft. Yes, I asked questions, and all of them were courteous to me and my wife. We were told at the start of our house being built, weather permitting, when we could expect our closing date. Kay was pretty much on schedule. Our Fields at Indian Creek to my understanding, was the pilot program for a 55+ community, presented by Kay.. I’m totally satisfied with Kay, and would recommend them, without hesitation. I wish all the workers and staff well, in their future endeavors. I write this without compensation.

Buyers beware!!!!! When we signed the paperwork we were told move in would be in 8-9 months. It took 15 months for us to move in. After we moved in we found a number of issues that were notated in the punch list. It has been 6 months and the punchlist is still not complete. After writing several emails with no response from the team who works the punchlist or their warranty department we still have active issues that are not being addressed.

Buyers beware! Like many other reviewers I wish I could give Kay Builders a negative review. The home seems great once you move in until things just start turning south. Our driveway sank a substantial amount 6 months after we moved in. We were told that Kay would not fix it. My neighbor and I were not happy and Kay refused to do anything until the neighbor reached out to local news stations. What a horrible experience! Our microwave handle broke off within two years of living in the home. We then noticed that the handle was broken prior and super glued back on so we wouldn’t notice. Also after three years of living there our AC unit started leaking. This should not happen to a three year old unit. Shingles also flew off this spring from storms. This is a 4 year old home that should not have these issues. Forget about the joke of the “warranty” we were given. Nothing is covered unless it’s within your first year. Buyers stay away from these crooks!!Update to the owners response: Clearly a super professional response which shows you who you will be going into business with. Also if you read other reviews many have had the same experiences. These are not items just made up to “extort” the company. I wouldn’t be wasting my time my making up these horrible situations. Trust me if you own a Kay home you know you can’t make these things up.. see other reviews for more reference.

We had an awesome experience with Kay Builders while getting our first home in Trexler fields, a year back. We didn't engage any real estate agent and worked directly with Kay's sales agent Fran, and she is just awesome!!! The entire process starting from contract signing to settlement went very smoothly and Kay made sure that any huddles have an easy and quick solution without putting headache on the buyer. I would recommend Kay for all prospective buyers in Lehigh Valley.
