Jon and Ambler Contracting did an incredible job finishing our basement!At the begging of our project we experienced a tropical storm that flooded our basement. Jon suggested that we install a French drain to protect our investment. Jons team took on the job and fixed our water problem.Once the water problem was fixed they got right to work doing all the framing electrical and plumbing. Attention to detail was amazing they even uncovered a small hole in our sewer line that they fixed free of charge. Jon was great at communicating what needed done and any issues that came up.Jon was able to take a small sketch I made in my notebook of what my idea was for my basement and made it a reality. I couldn’t be happier with our new multi purpose space and full bathroom.I will be looking to use Ambler contracting for furniture projectsJob well done!

I have to have my entire roof redone this spring because of the poor work that was performed last spring.They didn't remove warped and old plywood, did not put underlayment in places, did not pull all shingles as discussed in contract. Not only that, but I have to get structural fixes to the roof from the subpar work by he and his subcontractor.I asked him to pay me back since he *knows* they did a horrible job. He gave me about half back, then ghosted on me. But it's going to cost me 2.5 times what I paid him to fix everything.He cut corners everywhere. He doesn't know how to properly estimate a job. (I had to get $600 cash for them at one point to get more materials) He brought in a subcontractor to do the actual roof who cut corners, and is also apparently a con-man. (that dude took his own church for $7000 and didn't do the work)My guess is he can make a space look ok, but the work behind it will be trash.And I would not trust him at all if he has a subcontractor.I have tried to find his Contractor license on the PA website, but I can't find it.Good luck with him... you've been warned.EDIT: Jon Doman is the owner and recently rated himself 5 stars. FyiUpdated with pics. The water running off and not into the gutters was because of his and his subcontractor's placement of ladders against the gutters to get up and down, and then not taking the gutters down to replace them or readjust them.All of the stained under plywood was supposed to be replaced. As you can tell by the bowing of the roof pic and the light coming in from outside that none of the plywood was replaced.I hope that how he treated me and my home is why he is doing a much better job with others. It just is terrible that I didn't even get an apology from him, my full money back, or a proper job done.But I'm glad others are happier with his work. Maybe that means he turned his terrible work ethic around.3/22/24: current situation with leaks in my roof with this rain, circled in yellow.

Ambler Contracting and Jon did a great job with our industrial basement remodel. The basement was completely unusable as a living space before. I gave him a couple drawings to show him what we wanted and he was able to help me work through the logistics of bringing the drawings to life. Jon and his team put in a new beam based on my engineer’a spec, which raised our ceiling height by a foot. They installed a new window in a 18” thick stacked stone foundation. Broke up an old concrete slab and leveled out the floor. Sealed the floor, painted the ceiling and walls. Ran all new electric & plumbing. And that was all before we could get to framing and finishing - which included shiplap detailing, a poured concrete countertop and custom shelving. We’re extremely happy with the way the basement turned out and are planning to have Jon and his team back for some remodeling on the main floor.

Jonathan and his team did a fantastic job repairing several areas on our more than a century old converted carriage house and barn. Replacing a structural beam supporting our porch roof was most challenging, but he handled the job in an expert fashion.We will certainly call on him again!

Jonathan is exceptional contractor ! I had my kitchen remodeled within my budget. He installed new countertops, tiled backsplash , garbage disposal, dishwasher, pot filler , under cabinet lighting and over the sink lighting . He custom built a spice drawer floor to counter top! He made my kitchen a beautiful way more functional kitchen. I'm grateful everyday! Everything continues to be in perfect working order after a year.Thanks Jonathan!I would recommend him to anyone!

Jon does a great job on everything he does. He’s done a number of jobs for me. He put in grab bars in my shower, which look good and are very sturdy.Also Jon figures out how to accomplish the job in the least expensive way. Plus if he says he’s going to be there, he is.He has also dropped everything he’s doing to help me, which really means he does it on his own personal time.I cannot say enough good things about Jon, very conscientious plus he’s a great guy!!

John has done numerous jobs at our house. He is professional and he does beautiful work. We have asked him to complete small jobs, like repairs as well as large jobs like making a nursery and additional bedroom out of a storage area. He makes himself available and has always completed a project in timely manner. Again, his work is beautiful and neat. We plan on using him again on upcoming projects.

Ambler Contracting is the best! I was a little leary when deciding on the right contractor for my job. You hear so many horror stories about abandoned jobs, contractors that take the money and run, underestimated jobs. I am happy to report that none of the above was the case with Ambler Contracting. They were easy to work with, guided through all of my options/costs with expertise, and finished within my allotted budget. I am thankful everyday I walk into my newly redone kitchen! What a beautiful change Jon Doman has provided! I now love to cook in my kitchen!!!! I would highly recommend them for your next project!
