I saw Affordable Decks at the Home & Garden Expo. I talked with Jeff, the owner, and got a good sense of what I wanted after he gave me new ideas (I had my heart set on a color and he showed me one even better!). The CAD drawing comes standard with their consultation and it gives you a really neat visual of what you want. I asked to be put on the schedule at their earliest convenience and luckily for me another home owner canceled so I could get an earlier start. Tim, the construction supervisor, was very nice and thorough. His crew showed up everyday at 7:30 on the dot and finished in a timely manner considering it rained for a good majority of that time. Upon completion, Tim walked me through my new deck with what they did, care instructions and information an owner should know. Afterwards they sent people to come and clean up the work area as well as pressure wash the deck. I was expecting a five minute sloppy wash and instead they spent a good time making sure the deck was pristine. Time will only tell if this is a quality job meant to last, but from the looks of it I'm extremely happy and confident it will! Thanks for s good job guys!

I recently had our second deck built by Affordable Decks, and while the quality of the deck itself is decent, I cannot overlook the abysmal customer service and overall lack of accountability from the company.First and foremost, getting in touch with anyone at Affordable Decks, be it the office workers or the owner, was an exercise in frustration. It often felt like I was dealing with a ghost company. Calls and emails went unanswered for days, making it incredibly difficult to get updates on my project or address any concerns. The lack of communication was appalling and left me feeling completely ignored. We were told the deck would be completed by July 4th weekend, and it was NOT! They did not finish it until a month later. We asked multiple times for the owner Jeff to call or visit us, and he ignored us every time.When I did finally manage to get a response, there was a distinct lack of responsibility-taking on their part. Any issues or mistakes that arose during the project were met with excuses and deflection. It was clear that they were unwilling to acknowledge their errors or make any effort to rectify them. This lack of accountability left me feeling unheard and undervalued as a customer. We have spent almost $40,000 with them and the owner couldn’t even take the time to call us. A simple phone call could have rectified this situation.Furthermore, the project timeline was extended beyond the initially promised completion date without any explanation or apology. This not only inconvenienced us, but also added unnecessary stress to an already frustrating experience.While the quality of the deck itself may meet basic standards, the deplorable customer service and lack of accountability at Affordable Decks overshadow any positive aspects of the project. I would caution anyone considering their services to think twice and be prepared for a frustrating and disappointing customer experience.Service: Deck installation

Such a great experience with these guys, starting from the estimate, taking care of the permit, neatness of work, communication with me regarding my questions and concerns, completing work in timely manner (7 working days for a deck 14x20 feet)... The company was recommended by a few folks in our neighborhood. The whole process from reaching out to them for an estimate to seeing our finished deck was pretty great! They were prompt, responsive and helpful. Any hiccups were promptly addressed and they delivered the deck within the estimated window despite someWeather issues. Would definitely recommend!

We just had our deck rebuilt in the last week by Affordable Decks & Additions and I have to say it was one of the best experiences. From the time we got our estimate to the time of completion, everything as far as timing and construction went as promised. After having a bad experience with a prior deck contractor, I was very cautious in choosing a company to build a new deck. We went with Affordable Decks & Additions and were very pleased. To get started on the project it took a little while, but any time I called I was given an update of where we stood in line behind other customers.I was told our deck would take about 2-3 weeks to complete. They had it done in 2 weeks, working through the bitter cold. The employees were very professional and kept us updated throughout the progress.They did a great job and overall, we were very happy that we went with them for our project.

We had a deck and a beautiful addition put in by Affordable Decks 7+ years ago and they did an excellent job. Recently with the heavy rains we did have a small issue that we wanted them to look at. I thought to myself, no way will they respond or come out this many years later after completing the job. But they answered my call and my email promptly. Sent a crew out that took care of our issues and even did some preventative work on other areas that we didnt even ask them to do. I was so impressed. And they honored their contract and guarantee and did not charge us. I know many contracting companies that would have simply ignored us or given us the run around about why they no longer cover the issue we were having. Again, very impressed with Jeff and his crew.

Affordable Decks & Additions installed our new deck in the Fall of 2019. The whole process was easy and painless, from the initial consultation with Jeff (the owner) to the installation (installers Tom and Tim showed up every day at the same time, and worked very diligently - something we don’t often see with contractors), to the clean up. We are completely satisfied and LOVE our new deck. They also custom built a gate on our deck that gives me the peace of mind that they kids are safe and blocked from the stairs. We definitely recommend this local company.

Affordable Decks and Additions recently completed installation and we are extremely pleased. We can't say enough about all aspects of the process of getting our deck. From the initial conceptual phase (owner Jeff was very involved in giving us a concept and a very fair estimate), to the design phase (Jeff and his team at the office provided clear design drawings, 3-D drawings, product options for our decking, railing, privacy wall, and skirting), through the construction (very talented and professional installers. Paid great attention to detail. Arrived on-time every day, worked full days daily.) Overall, we highly recommend Affordable Decks & Additions.

I had a deck installed by Affordable Decks, it is beautiful and solidly built! The whole process was stellar, from my first phone call, my appointment with the Salesman, Frank, phone calls to the most knowledgeable gentleman in the office, to the installation, ahead of schedule during the polar vortex in February! The installers showed up every morning and worked all day, very nice, polite and very professional, in spite of the freezing cold! I had a terrific experience with this company. The owner made me a cad design so I could envision my deck and the price was reasonable. He made additional suggestions which I appreciated. The actual building of the deck was super fast and they did a beautiful job. My only criticism is that I wish I would have had a layout on the actual ground to get a better idea of the size of the deck as I would have made it bigger. Everyone at this company was polite and efficient! In fact, I am in a townhouse building and so far all the other owners are using this company too!

Do not use this company. Someone came to our home to provide us an estimate for a project we wanted completed. Someone came to our house and was very nice. However, they never provided us an estimate. I called several times and left a message with their receptionist. Each time someone indicated he would call me back with an estimate and pictures. After a month I signed a contract with a different company to complete the project. They still never called or provided me with the estimate.

The Affordable Decks folks were tremendous. Every member of their team we encountered was excellent. They could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Our new deck is amazing. We could not be more please with the project and the people. We highly recommend using them to do any project.

If the option to give Jeff no stars was available, that would be the rating. This project was done in horribly. This guy is as snake oil as it gets. I added a few tidbits to the discussion about the product. I asked Jeff about how hot the deck would get vs a trex Transend that I preferred. He browsed through a marketing page that had a strong about 40% cooler in material. It was absolutely hotter than the trex transend.I then asked that if we could get groved boards to us the plastic stackers which worked out perfect on are last deck with perfect spacing. The result was flimsy nails in the sides of the decks with unequal spacing.After the job was complete, there was writing all over the ledger boards, ledger boards were not on straight, the decking boards were wavy. To add to it, the deck is like a trampoline compared to trex transend product that he sold against.Lastly, one month after completing the deck, I had to call them out 4 separate occasions because the decking kept popping up. Jeff the sleezy owner came out a few times and the final time came out and said he would use another crew to come fix all the issues. A year later he never showed up and he has done this to others.This company is god awful. If you need to pay a few thousand more, do it. They are the worst deck builders in all aspects of the project. Material, professionalism, clean up, and follow up.I’ll leave with this, I am not the type of person to bash companies or waste my time writing bad reviews because I’m bored. I wrote this review because it was definitely deserved and he is god awful. Don’t fall for it. I would pay double to have never had this guy out in the first place.

We love our deck and patio that Affordable built for us in 2018. However, I have been trying to contact them since 4/2019 because my township building inspector contacted me to tell me they never got THREE required inspections (footers, framing, and final) so I cannot be issued an occupancy permit--something that will lower my resale value.I received one email, giving me the dates that the inspections supposedly occurred, but the inspector has NO RECORD of them. I have sent multiple emails since confirming with the inspector that these were NOT DONE, but no one has responded.I have never left anyone a bad review before, but this situation is inexcusable. I paid a lot of money for my deck and these inspections were THEIR responsibility.

This company will soon have built more of our house than originally came with it when we purchased. They built a huge wooden deck and a complete kitchen makeover. We regret hiring another company to save money on our rear and side patio, as the quality of work was clearly inferior. We will hire ADA for all future projects.

I'm interested in having a front porch built and they told me to look for a handyman on Craigslist for a cheap price. I'm disappointed that I was not taken seriously or given the time of day.To respond to your response below: I live on Baptist Road.. about a 10 minute drive from your business. Which, is one of the reasons I even contacted you. I'm not totally sure how large of a porch I will want to go with. I will look else where . Thanks for responding.

We requested a quote in the fall of 2018. After hearing nothing for a few weeks someone called to set up an estimate. They told me they were working in our neighborhood so swinging by would be no issue. We never heard from this person again.

Beware!! Do not hire this company for any project big or small. If anything goes wrong they will not stand behind their work. We have had multiple issues, and Dave and Jeff avoid all phone calls and do everything possible to avoid you. Terrible customer service!!!
