This has been the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. It’s clear that this company is an insurance-chaser and not one that gives a damn about customer service or that takes pride in their work. Just getting hold of someone to answer basic questions took weeks sometimes, and I’m not exaggerating. I paid in advance for two major projects and once they had my money, it was like I didn’t exist. When the work finally got done, I ended up with shoddy work and carpet that was the wrong color--with not so much as an apology. I have no idea how a company like this stays in business other than, again, being fed insurance projects. It’s a shame, and customers should never be treated like this, especially when we shell out thousands of dollars to have work done that just gets ignored or put on the back burner. I will never do business with these folks ever again, and if you can avoid it, you should follow my lead.

We were given this inept excuse for a company to use by our insurance company when we had damage. It took them awhile to come out just to do the initial assessment. Then, it got worse-they don’t return messages left, don’t respond to voicemails. It’s been 3 months and we’re not even scheduled for repairs yet! I don’t like the big hole in my kitchen ceiling-apparently it will still be here for the holidays if I wait for these people. If you can’t handle the job, just say so. Unprofessional and not responsive to their customer’s needs. 0 stars but it won’t let me post without at least 1.

They were prompt in all communications with us, and were very helpful in walking us through the process. In addition, the work they did was professional, and they cleaned up very well after the work. We recently used Boyer and Pentek for a significant water claim in a commercial rental property. 2 businesses were affected. The upstairs business was able to remain open during the reconstruction thanks to the flexibility of Boyer and Pentek. The downstairs needed significantly more work. Initial cleanup/drying, electric, flooring, new ceiling, molding, and painting. We had many different contractors, with varying specialties, come and go during the process. My primary business is next door so I was able to monitor and communicate with all of the workers throughout the process. Each of them were professional, friendly and good at their trade. The owner did a great job communicating with us. Unfortunately, a carpeting back order did delay completion but again they rearranged plans to get the business back in business as quickly as possible. No one wants to wake up to a major loss. It's a stressful, chaotic, and confusing situation to be in no matter how many times you've been through it. Coming into the insurance claim reporting process, I talked with my carrier, and they asked me to pick a company that I would like to work with. Not knowing any contacts in the industry, I had asked for recommendations and Boyer & Pentek, Inc. came highly recommended. After dismissing a couple of seemingly less reputable recommendations of other providers, I went forward and talked with Jake Boyer and he agreed to come out for an assessment. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and customer advocacy skills were apparent from the first visit. After putting a plan together, I got the documents signed and we began the restoration process. During restoration, Jake had found the original problem was misdiagnosed by a different company. He handled informing my insurance carrier, provided a plan of action, and dispatched his team to quickly expand the scope of work and remedy the issue before additional damage was caused. All in all, about half of my house has been rebuilt by Jake and his team. Now that I have a new basement, laundry room, woodshop, kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, and plumbing, I can honestly say that I am blown away by the before and after. I discovered Boyer & Pentek as a result of an insurance claim to my primary residence. When I opened my insurance claim I received a call from them within an hour. They were onsite to begin water remediation within two hours. This was impressive as their offices are on the East side of the city of Pittsburgh and my home is roughly 45 miles from their offices.Tony, Billy, and Josh were extremely professional and worked around my schedule to coordinate repairs. Once they began the repairs you could set your clock by their arrival times. They were on the job everyday with the appropriate talent to continue through all facets of the remodel. From demo, to flooring, to finished carpentry, to painting. And everything in between.I am quite the perfectionist and the whole team catered to my needs until I was completely satisfied with the results. I can’t imagine a better experience and highly recommend them to anyone. In a world where it is becoming increasingly difficult to find contractors you can count on to deliver, Boyer & Pentek is a breath of fresh air. Jake Boyer and his team were phenomenal. Jake came out initially to evaluate everything and was complete and thorough. He was awesome. He initially worked with our insurance company effectively and then sent workers to our house. They were all very polite and efficient. Jake was always aware of what was completed in our house. We were very happy with all the workers and the scheduling of our work. Jake knew our questions before we asked them. Now well over a month later, my insurance has been in contact with them at least twice without any response. No phone call, email, nothing. We had water damage to our dining room due to a wax seal failing on our toilet. Allstate had Boyer and Pentak contact us directly as they are an approved contractor. The process was unbelievably easy and the work was done far better than our expectations. We had recently been through another water damage issue with a different insurance company and it was a nightmare. Took over a year to complete and it was done really poorly in fact the day the other project was completed was the same day the toilet overflowed. Boyer and pentak’s drywall contractor redid the mess the other contractor left after repairing my dining room ceiling. He was such an expert you can not tell where the damage was in either room. He was polite, extremely clean and an expert matching the ceiling texture in both rooms. The painter from Boyer and pentak did a fantastic job and knowing I was painting the adjoining room myself he took the time to teach me some helpful tips. He also left the room perfectly clean. The final crew to come was the carpet installers. I was so impressed with the quality of their work and how clean they were during the removal process that we decided to replace all of the carpet in the rest of our house using Boyer and pentak. The carpet guys knew my kids had asthma and allergies and they really cleaned up and left none of the dust behind. Jake Boyer was our project manager and he arrived exactly when he told me he would,he was very easy to contact if I had a question and he placed a lock box on my front door so I wouldn’t have to take off work while the contractors were fixing the mess. Working with Boyer and pentak was so easy it really took the stress out of the home repair. I will call them first for anything home repair related even if it’s not an insurance claim. I found their prices reasonable and the quality of work is so much better than anyone else who has ever done projects in our house. The process was really fast but not ever sacrificing the quality of the repair. I highly recommend the company everyone I spoke with or worked with was so professional and talented it was a blessing to have them in our home.

We had water damage from 2nd floor bathroom down through kitchen ceiling. Got off to rough start. In the end. They did a beautiful job. The whole process during this covid pandemic has been stressful in itself. All workers remained professional. I am especially pleased with Howard. He put the tile in the bathroom. Remarkable job. In the end I am pleased with whole process. I'm grateful to have my home finished. With a play on words, I hope I never need there services again, But if any other disaster would happen in my home again. We had a pipe break causing damage to all three floors of our home. Boyer Pentek were out within a few hours and continued with the clean up and restoration. There crews of professional painters, floor installers, plumbers, sheet rock installers were great. Not only did they do a professional job but they were genuinely nice people who took pride in there work. I can't say enough about this company. I was referred by my homeowners insurance company.They did an amazing job tearing out the water damage- however they were 2.5 hours late without notice.Fast forward to hiring them for the work and they have been unavailable and wishy washy with what they can/can’t do.They were suppose to start work two weeks ago, and have yet to even call me with an update. I had water damage and was referred to Boyer &Pentek by our Insurance company. Jake came out and did an estimate, he said that he would send usa copy of the esimate, a week went by and we heard nothing from Jake. We left messages on the main voice-mail and someone called back stating that he would give the message to Jake, however we never received a call back even after leaving another message. This entire process is extremely frustrating as the water damage occurred in August and it will be November in two days.Service: Water damage-related mold removal

Did a roof repair over a barn I purchased a year ago. The roof leaks ever few feet. A terrible installation. This was done by Boyer Pentek shortly before I purchased the property. I asked about fixing their poor work about 5 months after the job was done, shortly after I moved in and discovered the leaks pouring through in streams during a hard rain. After several calls with no call backs someone finally told me no warranty on repair work. I've since made several attempts to seal the leaks but every time there is a heavy rain, I think of the name Buyer and Pentek - the poorest quality work I've ever seen. Stay away.Service: Roofing

An elderly relative's home was damaged by an upstairs water leak that damaged the upstairs bathroom, hallway, stairway...and the plaster ceilings in the kitchen, dinning room and living room. As well as the hardwood floors in the dining room and living room. The damages exceeded $35,000. Since I knew no contractors, I asked her insurance company to recommend one. The insurance company suggested Boyer & Pentek. I'm pleased to say Boyer & Pentek handled the entire job superbly....their craftsmanship was outstanding, and I believe the home is now worth more than it was before the damage occurred. Don’t use this company for restoration. Poor quality work, including code violations that were caught by another contractor. Hairs all over the walls after they painted. Shoddy job done replacing and refinishing wood floors including hairs in poly, gouges, no subfloor installed against code, swirl marks in wood, hardened bubbles in poly, a warped looking floor where poly lipped upwards as it dried between floorboards - this was after we gave them a chance to fix it! Supervisor doesn’t care. They are a disaster. Avoid!

In my opinion this company showed little motivation to finish the job or start on time. I became tired of asking for work to be redone. I will be hiring someone else for further work and redos. The job took far too long to complete and much longer than quoted. Boyer & Pentek failed to meet my minimum expectations. I would describe job site attendance as low. Had a good experience with some of the guys when they were actually on site. It felt like my job was the last priority on the schedule. This was an overall disappointment. Personally, I recommend you look elsewhere.

Terrible. The painters were GREAT, but we hade to basically re- do everything the "cleaning" crew did. Careless work that took far longer then needed. Avoid at all costs. Our insurance company was raped for nearly 20,000$ and we were left with a house only marginally better than when they got there. They should be embarrassed.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! It was so difficult trying to get a hold of anyone and when I would get somebody, I was told they would have someone else call me back. Weeks would go by and never received a call back. They were supposed to repair water damage done to the ceiling in my babys nursery, after they patched the roof they never came back. Recieved an invoice for $650 eight months after the fact... when I called to ask them about the invoice and to notify them the job was never completed, no one answered the phone nor did they return my calls ( called and left 2 voicemails). Terrible communication and customer service. DO NOT USE THEM!
