I give it 5 stars in its own right. It’s not stocked like the Home Depot but it did have what I was looking for today. The staff is very friendly and helpful but I’m thinking they may cater more to the professional contractors. The store is a DIY and once was a lumber mill my understanding. The building for the mill is still on premise but I didn’t go over to it to see what’s in it. It may have more inventory. Inventory for painters tape, various wood stains and putties, sledge hammers was on the slim side. I couldn’t say if it’s corporate owned. Hardware seems well stocked and the showroom for cabinets, kitchen and bath layouts and home closet doors and entry doors looks like very good quality. For remodeling on the home front I’d definitely check it out. Decking such as Trex like material is definitely better quality than the big box home improvement stores. This I wish I had known before I made steps and decking over the past 2 years.

I purchased lumber for my deck. 24' x 12'mostly pressure treated 2 x6 x 12'sIt was a collection of every piece of junk they had. Twisted split you name it. I had them replace over 75% and that was garbage too.I would not buy anything from them!

I have a mixed review, great wood selection and nice ppl. However I spent over $1500 on roofing supplies that I was quoted 2-3 weeks and arrived over two months later, they where unable to tell me the arrival every time I called and left me in a bad position with my customer who thought I took her money and split. They offered no compensation for my waisted time, loss of work and the aggravation I put up with. I also got a bad review from my customer and was told she would never use my services again. Palmerston lumber. Could only apologize and place blame on the delivery guys, use with caution

Delivery driver needs to be terminated!! Refused to drop delivery at jobsite! Contractor and 2 subcontractors forced to carry and restack 200 pound trusses over 130 feet ! Driver argued screamed yelled and threatened to drop the delivery in the street!! DO NOT PREPAY this company!! It was 20 degrees outside today! This driver and company have no heart, once your paid they don't care what happens!

Palmerton Lumber is a an awesome Lumberyard just about has everything you would need. It's not on the level of the Lowe's or Home Depot of course but when you need custom millwork, a good variety of lumber of every length, and very very helpful and knowledgeable counter staff this is the place to go if you're building or working in the area. I use a lot of their rough cut Pine for interior accent work and they also have a 1 by 6 and 1 by 8 wainscot which I use extensively and it's hard to find that anywhere else.

It's a better experience to go to a place like this and have someone help you instead of wondering around a big box store aimlessly. They also have good quality lumber here as well.
