We hired Akiladelphia primarily to address the rat and mouse infestation issue in our house. They were getting in through our crawl space, basement wall, and the walls behind our kitchen cabinets. In the evening we'd hear them running back and forth through our living room ceiling and could even hear them in the walls in our bedrooms. While we were at it, we asked Akil and his crew to remodel our kitchen (pictures included).Akil's crew reinforced our basement walls, dug us a real crawl space, poured a slab of concrete to seal it, redid the crawl space walls, and added lighting and insulation down there. Then they cut out the drywall in the kitchen and put in metal sheeting and concrete behind it to keep rodents from re-entering. Finally, they remodeled the kitchen, including the new floor, installed new cabinets, new countertop, new backsplash, even built the new window above the sink, added recessed lighting, new back door, and new pantry cabinets around the refrigerator. The added storage space and natural light in the kitchen have been especially beneficial to us.It's been almost a year now since they finished and in that time we've not seen a single rat and only saw one mouse that whole time when the house next door was getting re-done. Akil went the extra mile to keep the rodents out and it's been a big help. We also love the kitchen, and the price for all the work was very reasonable!

My new condo was only lacking in one thing---storage space. I needed a large closet built and rewiring of an outlet for a stackable washer and dryer to free up another closet. When we moved to our current house in 2017, we used Akiladelphia as a GC for the series of renovations and improvements we wanted to make before moving in. Our experience was uniformly positive. Akil connected us to competent, personable subcontractors who were able to execute on our ideas--new flooring, total re-paint of the interior and façade, finishing the basement--with minimal fuss and a notable quality of work.In addition, Akil himself came up with a pretty unique solution to a problem we had with the basement stairs. One side of the stairs was entirely open, which seemed unsafe; but the stairs were so narrow, we were concerned that closing it would mean we'd never get anything down there. Akil drew on his experience in movie set and parade construction to build us a hinged wall that we can swivel open when necessary. Akil's team did a great job! I had a leak somewhere around a roof door, so it was not a straightforward roofing job or carpentry job or siding job. Other pros either didn't want it or gave me really high estimates. I wish I could give a 10 star rating... Akil and his team deserve it. We faced a very tight window on a complicated kitchen and master bath demolition and renovation. In addition, Akil renovated our outdoor space and then at our request, came back and replaced some patio doors. Finally, when our furnace failed, Akil put us in touch with his hvac contractor who performed a tricky furnace replacement within 24 hrs, right when very cold weather was coming in.We are so grateful that we found Akil and his team; they were responsive, efficient, great to work with, cost effective, timely, dependable and kept the site clean and secure.
