George started our kitchen renovation in July 2023, my kitchen just got finished end of February 2024, and it was finished by someone else, because George collected a second payment and never came back to finish the work. When HE WAS working in the kitchen, they were VERY INCONSISTENT and would come a couple days a week, if that to work. Anytime he would respond ,after us texting and texting him, he would have a Fantastical story, and he was always the victim!! We Hate to have to leave this review, but we feel he cannot get away with what he did to us. We had No stove, No Sink, No Kitchen for 8 months. We have 4 children in our home. And he simply did not Care!! He left demolition trash on our porch for weeks, and we received multiple fines that WE had to pay out of pocket!! Everytime they came to work in our kitchen he had a different group of shady guys. The last guy he had working in our kitchen even went to the bathroom in our kitchen multiple times, and it took us a week to get rid of the smell. It was Disgusting!! Please, if you decide to work with him get a VERY detailed contract before hand. If you need small jobs done, he’s good, he can”t handle large projects. Second payment you wasn’t half way finish. No need to lie, look at the picture, how were you going to put cabinets in and the walls wasn’t finish or painted, I’m not the only one that has said the same thing, so you don’t have crack heads working for you, I guess that a lie to and this is the first time your hearing about this. Have a good life.

We hired GJL Construction and paid half the contracted costs.I had to fire George Lawrence owner because of the poor workmanship. He would show up once a week between 2.0 and 3.75 hours. All of the work completed except one roughed in wall needs to be re-done. Includes two windows, Window Capping and refrigerant lines for a split heating and AC unit. I have hired other contractors to repair and complete the scope of the original contract. I asked the owner George Lawrence to come to an agreement and refund money that was not spent. He said he would not because I fired him. This is a BAD CONTRACTOR DO NOT HIRE.George I read your response and the last time we spoke you told me that you would send the itemized list to me for the money spent. We would come to an agreement on the refund. I guess that was another one of your GEORGEISM.I used the term FIRE because you told me I fired you, I terminated the contract because of your poor work ethic and bad work.The one roughed in wall I thought was ok also needed to be repaired. Nothing you did could be used. See pictiure below of the wall your built.When you showed up three hours late and then started with your nonsense. She told you, that if she worked like you, her boss would have fired me by now.You started with your nonsense and she told you straight on. You came back and told my wife that you were wrong and she was right 300 percent. Your own workers apologized and asked if she was ok.Update on the room, we hired another contractor and the room is finished. They worked from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM everyday.The room looks terrific,I will share with you the written remarks from the other contractors hired in court, You will loose, I may even get more money back.

March 11, 2024We had a water leak behind the wall in my livingroom. George came out to inspect the area. After a few days, I received an estimate and we were able to agree on a date for demolition. I am very, very pleased with GJL's work that was performed, professional expertise, knowledge and his staff. I am creating a list for other projects for GJL.

It was such a pleasure working with GJL Construction. My heater wouldn't come on Saturday and the first company I called said I needed a new heater. Lost I started searching on line and found GJL Construction. George came right out and diagnosed the problem ( a short in a wire) and had my heat up and running the same day for a fraction of the price I was quoted. I look forward to enjoying a long relationship with this company for all my repair/construction needs.

I reached out to GJL CONSTRUCTION from Angi 's list of companies that were listed to do the job I needed, replacement of fittings on a new oil tank. That were done incorrectly during the installation. After speaking with George several times, we set up an appointment date. On that date George and crew arrived and professionally corrected the issues in a timely matter and they didn't take short cuts. They did the job correctly and I have had several oil deliveries with Peace of mind . He wanted me to contact him if any problems occurred, none so far. I have recommended GJL CONSTRUC to several family and friends. And he didn't try to kill my wallet!!!!

It was a pleasure working with George. His service was impeccable and I'm appreciative of his response and timing. I called his company for an estimate to have my water heater replaced...he gave me a great price in comparison to a previous call and we set up a time for installation. To my surprise and delight he called a day earlier with time to manage my job and I had hot water before the evening was over. I would highly recommend this company and plan to use them for my central air installation.
