We were intimidated to take on a major house renovation. It seemed so hard to manage and make so many decisions. Thankfully New Market Builders was the perfect partner. They held our hands all the way through, listened to what we wanted and needed, and delivered absolutely beautiful work. I know I will love our new kitchen and bathroom just as much in ten or fifteen years as I do today. Added to that, they made living in our house during the reno possible, went above and beyond to help solve various problems that cropped up along the way, and their staff are so talented, kind, respectful, and helpful. New Market Builders did a major remodel for us that drastically improved our quality of life, both in terms of usability (design) and quality (craftmanship). They made it a pleasure to live in our house again and we are so thankful that we were able to get them to do our remodel.Throughout the project (several months) they communicated well and were very professional. I was lucky enough to connect with NMB years ago when I had a roof leak that I just couldn’t get fixed. Four other contractors had tried and failed. I got the recommendation from a friend’s dad who said “If you can use NMB and you don’t, you’re making a mistake.” Mike and his team not only sorted out my roof, they also fixed some moisture problems I thought were unfixable.NMB are simply the most professional, responsive, and talented team of builders I’ve ever worked with. When I bought a condo I needed to renovate, there was no question for me who I would use. Both Lauren and Mike are very creative and fun to work with. Lauren comes up with several different designs after listening carefully to your needs, and Mike does absolutely beautiful custom woodwork. I bought in an old building and there ended up being some structural problems. I was so grateful to be working with Mike who does the job the way you would do it for yourself if you only could—he’s careful, thorough, detail-oriented. He’s both a superb manager and a true craftsman.

We worked with New Market Builders to complete a fairly complex project in our last home. They removed a load-bearing wall, opening up our Fishtown row home from front to back which required engagement with a structural engineer. Start to finish, we found them responsive, punctual, respectful, and creative. We felt completely confident in the critical structural decisions that were being made as well as the advice we received on floor finishes, etc. They brainstormed a unique steel channel header (rather than the boring wood/drywall version) and even repurposed an original piece of wood when finishing the channel, adding a ton of charm to our old rowhome. Lauren, Mike and their team are incredible. I bought a house that was a “train wreck” and needed a full remodel. While I was feeling quite discouraged, Lauren and Mike visited and could clearly visualize a transformation. I called New Market Builders when I was desperate to fix a leak in my setback balcony that caused a leak in my infant son’s room. 4 contractors had tried and been unsuccessful. NMB was knowledgeable, professional, and FIXED EVERYTHING! They showed up when they were supposed to, didn’t cut a single corner, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day so our home was livable, even with the extensive work being done. They did such great work that we we called them as soon as we bought our house in the suburbs so they could finish our basement (another flawless and thoughtful job).
