I want to thank everyone over at Countrywide for the amazing job they did to replace our roof. After researching several contractors in the area, I was pleased to find Countrywide and that they had an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and some very positive reviews. After a couple of meetings with their sales rep and the owner Arthur (I always have a lot of questions before moving forward), I was very confident that I had the best group of folks to do the repairs and replacement of our roof. Everyone I dealt with from Arthur and Gerald, out in the field, to Sandy and Katy, in the office, and all the guys working on the roof, (from construction, roofing, dry wall and gutters), all displayed a friendly professionalism and informative patience that I very much appreciated. I highly recommend them for any project you may have. As we move forward with our new house, I will definitely contact them for other projects that we will have. Many thanks!!!

Countrywide installed new windows in my house recently. Mr. Garry kept me in the loop both before and during installation The crews that did the work were all professional and wonderful to work with. Also, the follow-up after the job was done is impressive. I do not hesitate to recommend this company and the work ethic I experienced. A pleasure to do business with them!

We had several jobs completed by CWE, an in-law suite addition, pool deck, and several other repairs. Each time the job was completed on time and the work was beautiful. If there were any questions or issues, the owner (Arthur) personally stopped by to address the issues or sent a worker out right away. Arthur the owner is a con man and a bully. He will talk over you for hours until you sign paperwork to work with him, but he will not deliver. He will promise to work with your insurance company and then leave you hanging when there's a problem. His prices are way higher than the industry standard and he overcharges for labor. He says the only bad reviews here are people who didn't hire him, but that's wrong -- the bad reviews are from people he screwed over!

I had about a 400 sq foot attic space finished by the firm and I was pleased with my interactions from start to finish. The planning process was done on site and was responsive to my input. I had drywall, flooring, and electrical installed. Three separate teams worked on my home and were all of good quality. Any logistical issues were handled by Countrywide making the whole process stress free on my end. Any small issue, which is to be expected in these sorts of dealings, I had was rapidly resolved by Countrywide without any fuss. The workmanship was good quality and the customer service was high touch, no stress, and responsive to my needs as a customer. I want to take the time out to review my experience with Countrywide Enterprises. I would like to start off with the fact that when I came in contact with this company, I had just suffered a water damage in my secondary home, I was in a traumatic state of mind, and I was shocked, worrisome, naïve, confused and unexperienced. I was not a brand new homeowner, but this was the first time that I was exposed to this type of situation, 90% of my house was destroyed. I spoke to Arthur Garry, the owner of CWE, who was referred to me and it was the best thing I could have asked for and needed. Arthur is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and honest. For someone who have never dealt with the insurance company, I was faced with intimidation and dishonesty but speaking with Arthur, he reassured me that he was going to help me throughout the process. It took 14 months but Arthur kept his word and he was there and my claim was successfully paid and my house was reconstructed. My house is even more beautiful and well-constructed than before, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Everyone at CWE was very helpful and professional which is much appreciated but Katelyn was a sweetheart, she would call me or email me with updates or for my opinion on the reconstruction process. She was patient, understanding and professional. As, I stated before, this was my first time dealing with such a nightmare and the only reason why I didn’t have a mental breakdown was because of the dedicated, friendly and professional service that I experienced from everyone at CWE. My house is beautiful, functional, the finishes are well done, and the quality is excellent, it does not look like it was rushed or done by inexperienced workers. Countrywide Enterprises did a FABULOUS job re-siding our home in Stroudsburg, PA. We are SO happy with the quality of the work done by Arthur Garry's team of "construction artisans" --- yes, my wife Sharon and I saw their expertise and artistry daily as they ALL did an outstanding, highly-professional, and timely job. The finished work (including new gutters) looks beautiful !! We consider ourselves fortunate to have found these people, and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. NO hesitation in making that statement, at all. We couldn't be more pleased. I cannot recommend Arthur and his company strongly enough... Twice now they have come to our assistance at our home for unexpected water damage and his team handled everything without a hitch! Super professional, very on top of their communication, and extremely helpful when you need it the most! If you need anything done to a property this is the guy to call!

Arthur Garry and his team are professional, courteous and reliable. They are not the least expensive contractors out there, but we've used them time and time again because they do such outstanding work. Our addition looks like it was part of our original house, and our pool deck is absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you so much to Arthur and Countrywide Enterprises for their exceptional service!

REPLY TO OWNER, UPDATE 06/20/2019: Thanks for your reply. Elliott and Arthur both called me to ask that I remove this review, in an almost intimidating tone. As my original review states, I did not mind spending $250 - TWO TIMES - for a total of $500 with your company for estimates that did not take more than 3-5 hours each (at best). They were single page and one price estimates. I am reducing my rating to two stars due to the phone calls and accusation that I want something for nothing. Previously said, I am disappointed that your price was nearly $13,000 for work that another provider recently completed for $6,000 (and turned out gorgeous). I was looking forward to using the cost of my estimates towards real work at my property - not for estimates. For those reading this review, please see my other review from the other provider and pictures. I did offer to part ways peacefully if Arthur could refund me $250 of $500 I spent, which I thought was reasonable given the disappointing pricing - so he would still pocket $250 for his efforts in estimates.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Company is a general contractor that outsources many or all components of their jobs (which is fine) and the estimates are $250 (which is also fine, a rule they have for "before home closing", even though this wasn't being used for a purchase contract negotiation), so I do not recommend this company unless you have job that is maybe an insurance repair (with lots of paperwork) and/or you might have a significant mix of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing being done. Their estimate was 50-60% more than my other two estimates from providers that actually do the work. Their office staff call and email often after the estimate, so I liked that support. I did like the estimates they provided with pictures and measurements, plus they did come out with one of their subcontractors. Elliott was my estimator - and like the other review - I did find his email address odd (using a different name or alias "agarry", I think it's Arthur Garry, the owner?). I also found it odd that my job was masonry and Elliott said he could not estimate that (after I drove into PA from NYC), but he did make good by getting the opinion from the masonry subcontractor.I do feel like I "spun my wheels" with them, but I was able to use the estimate and pictures for other providers, so the $250 was OK by me and not a total loss (but, obviously disappointed on the pricing being so high and the loss of $250 that could have gone towards the job itself).

My basement flooded and I contacted Countrywide to do the clean up and repairs. I was extremely pleased with their professionalism and efficiency at handling my job. I would 110% recommend Countrywide to anyone who is looking for a company they can fully trust and do get the job done correctly.

The experience was a complete waste of time. We met with Elliot twice. During our first scheduled appointment, he assessed the scope and seemed to be extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of construction and engineering. During the follow-up, a few weeks later, he returned with a cost estimate for the project. During the conversation in our kitchen, Elliot proceeded to pull out a well documented award schedule for Countrywide, which included what appeared to be impressive industry reviews. After Elliot's 15 minute accolade spiel, he then gave a verbal quote for the work. I thought it was fair and then I asked him if he could provide a written document (basic contract) which should've included labor and material costs. I noticed that he was reading from what appeared to be a wrinkled piece of paper torn from a miniature ruled notepad with scribbled numbers on it. Out of pure confusion, I smirked a bit, and asked if he could offer something that I would feel comfortable signing. I proceeded to show him a printed sample of previous job estimates and contracts we are used to seeing from our pros. He said that it was simple enough and that he would work on the quote within the week and submit it for review. That was several weeks ago. We've followed up though different communication channels only to find out that we could not reach him directly as calls are routed through a service and the email address that appears on his business card, does not correspond to his name by any stretch of the imagination. We're not quite sure how Countrywide has received these so-called stellar reviews, but rest assured this is certainly a genuine article of fact. I've read another review on Angie'sList where the company's responded to another customer who in their words, wanted to "mix and match" materials, so they elected to ignore them when the customer followed up for a promised project quote. That was not the case here, and although that may have been the case for that project, it doesnt shine very well to disregard a prospect's request by not following up to communicate disinterest with some degree of professional diplomacy. It appears that this company doesn't care to put things in writing, or when asked to do so, they quickly flee and clearly have a setup in place so that the rep cannot be contacted directly when they choose to engage in this and perhaps other questionable acts. If their approach is to disengage without notice as they clearly wrote in their response to that customer, what message does that send to potential prospects here on Angieslist? The cloak and daggerish email addresses and rerouted answering services are evocative of strategic ponzi-like activity in my opinion. Word of advice for Countrywide: Hire a PR person. Quickly.
