Hilton Head Solar was the only company out of about seven willing to work with me. I had a very unique roof in that it was metal but looked like Spanish tile. They took their time, engineered a solution, and here I am with a 19.2 kWH system. As I'm on the water and prone to hurricane-force winds, it was not a typical install. Though the job took a little time from start to finish, it was worth it. They took pictures when I asked and included drone shots (thanks, Greg). I included a picture of it 2/3 done, as the other side can't be seen. I know that I will be adding two batteries as well, and I won't let any other company touch this system now except Hilton Head Solar.

First of all let me say, I do not write reviews. That said, I am writing one because Hilton Head Solar deserves a GREAT review.The entire process from start to finish was the best experience. Remember, this is a construction project. Many things can go wrong. There were a couple of speed bumps due to outside sources. HHS took care of them in a timely and professional manner.They have stayed in contact after the installation to be sure that their system is working as planned. We couldn't be happier.If you are thinking of going solar, you need to talk to these guys!

Now that I have had my solar system for three months I can now give an honest review. As a person who values my money I did an intense research for solar, I had maybe three companies come out to give their so called quotes. I wanted renewable energy not a loud gas sucking generator, especially with the rising fuel cost. I called my electric company and they recommended Hilton Head Solar, so I gave them a call. I was not disappointed! Their high tech equipment was awesome; they didn’t even have to come to my house to work up a quote unlike other companies. Doug was very patient with me because I was nervous about this purchase, for one this is a big investment for my home and a big junk of money to be paid. Their customer service is top notch. I cannot tell you how many times I have called to ask questions and sometimes I wasn’t on the extremely friendly side either. Nevertheless their staff never wavered and remained friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about any issues I had. HHS has all the up to date solar equipment and even with the shortage they still had a great inventory and finished my installment on time. Another thing I found to be awesome is that they are a local company and I know where they are located. Even after three months of having my solar I had an issue with my roof, I called HHS and they sent their head technician right out to look at my roof. I was impressed he came over after hours to make sure he inspected the roof and put my mind at ease. Stated he would be back to fix the minor issue for free, now if that’s not top notch and good quality control. There are a couple of more items for solar I would like and I will not be going anywhere else but HHS. Solar is a big step for any homeowner, make sure to go with the right company!

Hilton Head Solar installed my 17 panels with all electrical hook ups in one day last year. They were very professional from coming to start the project on time to measuring accurately to install the panels and a complete clean up when done.They estimated extra panels based on my usage to handle 100% of usage. After one year, my electrical usage Dropped from $77 a month to $5 a month,. I highly recommend Hilton Head Solar to everyone out there looking to install solar panels to there home.

Hilton Head Solar was great. Detailed sales process, they made sure my questions were answered (I had a lot) and the system fit my needs and was installed to my standards. After install they stay in touch and make sure things are running nicely. Already got my first ZERO electric bill (well there is a $9 service fee from electric company lol) actually have credits piling up as the system is producing more than my home is consuming. Neighbors who went with Hilton Head Solar last year helped my decision and now I've joined the satisfied customer club. Excited to see how much juice these panels will crank out this summer!

From start to finish Hilton Head Solar was professional and attentive. They were honest with the cost up front, there were no hidden or extra charges. They were very knowledgeable of the products, and educated me on what type of panels, and inverter to purchase and why. The system they installed is producing almost 100% of my electrical needs just like they said it would. They follow up with me on a regular basis to see if I am pleased with the system and to see if I have any questions. I would recommend Hilton Head Solar to anyone looking to install Solar for their home or business.

We had originally committed to another company that had come to our door, but when the rep for that other company was caught being dishonest, we kicked that company to the curb and was referred to Hilton Head Solar. The ladies and gentlemen of HHS were a pleasure to work with and their communication was outstanding. Our panels look and work great. We couldn't be happier! I received pricing from four different companies and had three in home presentations. The size and price from each company varied and while I was in contact with SCE&G about their net metering program, HHS answered my questions honestly where some of the others did not.Hilton Head Solar won my business because they were the only company local to Bluffton SC, promised (and delivered on) a quality installation, and even though they were not the least expensive, we negotiated a great deal that fit my budget!The install crew was amazing. I have worked in the construction industry all of my life and these guys worked like a finely tuned machine. They installed 22 panels and all of the electrical connections in one day. They answered all of my questions, were courteous and very professional. I highly recommend HHS to anyone considering solar power.

UPDATE 1/25/19: Hilton Head Solar continues to impress me. I recently had one of my inverters stop working. Before I even knew something was wrong, Alexis reached out to find a time when someone could come take a look. They were out the next day and as soon as the replacement arrived they were back out to get me up and running. HH Solar's customer service is exceptional even well after the installation.ORIGINAL: If you are interested in solar, this is the company to use! Hilton Head Solar is a great company with an exceptional team. Kendall on the sales team is very friendly and easy to work with. She presented us with data to help support our decision making, but was not pushy. Even with rain almost everyday since our system was installed, it is exceeding our expectation. Brent and team were also easy to work with and did an awesome job on the installation (in brutal heat). The work was done with exceptional attention to detail and care. You can tell they take pride in their work. The building inspector even mentioned they did much more than what is required. I highly recommend this company.

I had my solar installed by a different company (a total nightmare) and there were so many stories of them not installing properly and installing faulty equipment. So, I called Hilton Head Solar and asked them to do an inspection to put my mind at ease. They were very quick to come out, very professional and very pleasant. They updated my Enphase so I was actually able to keep track of my production and usage. I can't thank them enough. I will be using Hilton Head Solar going forward for all servicing and maintenance.

I am very happy with the performance of Hilton Head Solar (HHS). They provided the best value compared to the regional competition, and seemed to have the greatest solar PV knowledge. Their overall installation was of a quality I typically do not expect here in the Low Country of South Carolina (very neat and very well labelled electrical install with all rails attached to rafters). I really like the overall competence of all the people I dealt with in the process. I especially enjoy meeting Steven, who I found to be very pleasant and intelligent; I made a new friend. I plan to tell my friends and do additional business with HHS in future.

Overall my experience with Hilton Head Solar was pretty positive. I had already torn off the rotten roof to my carport and I had already purchased most of the materials. However, due to the number of renovations on the house and the scope of the carport project I enlisted HHS to do the replacement including new joists, OSB, ice and water water, and shingles. Their crew was very efficient until I noticed they had punched through the ceiling in a couple places. Although it was upsetting I more or less attributed the error to the manner in which the house was constructed. I informed them that with my expertise I could make the minor repairs needed in exchange for negotiating a small discount. If it wasn't for this one small issue I would gladly have provided a 5 star review here. I was impressed they got the job done in one day and upon my own inspection was a pretty quality installation. I don't usually mention individual names in reviews but I need to note how on top of things Jordan and how on top of things he was, even through the little mishap. I was VERY impressed. Good job guys!

Hilton Head Solar was wonderful to work with. Steve Schwartz and I talked many time to come up with a design that we would be happy with. I asked a lot of questions and he was always there to assist me and let me make the decision I wanted. He NEVER pressured me like other places. Our original design started with LG 280W panels and Enphase inverters but we ended up going with SunPower 400W panels and SMA Inverters. My wife was extremely happy when she saw what was normally a $200 - $400 electric bill come in at $15. Can't wait to see the bill next summer when our bill is usually around $600. Again, job well done and everyone we spoke and worked with were excellent.

We were struggling with some issues with another solar company that did an instal for us. I contacted Hilton Head Solar and the owner of the company called me directly. With his vast knowledge, we were able to come up with a resolution with our other company to our satisfaction. Had I not been armed with the information that was shared with me, we would have ended up short of our promised production. Although we didn’t buy from HHS, I feel like I can highly recommend them from my experience. I talked to several other companies and HHS was the only one that came up with the best solution. The Hilton Head Solar and Roofing Team did an amazing job designing and installing our new solar system in Pooler, GA. From the first meeting with the sales team, they made us feel comfortable and did a thorough job explaining the intricacies of the solar process. Additionally, their roofing team was professional and expertly removed and replaced our roof while taking extra care to remove all of the debris from the yard. The install work and process was great, and the communication throughout was great. Our only issue was coordinating getting them turned on with Dominion and HHSolar, which is partly out of their control. Very reasonably price and glad to support a local business.

Phenomenal! We shopped around and ended up going with Hilton Head Solar. We were super reluctant but ended up jumping in. From start to finish they made the process so smooth. The guys that did the install were so professional, courteous, and good at what they did. I was in the construction industry for years and I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt that their skill and craftsmanship is top notch. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. The solar on our sailboat was not working to capacity, so we called Hilton Head Solar and they agreed to come to our boat located in Beaufort, SC.They were very knowledgeable and were able to resolve the problem in about 30 mins. They were very professional and reasonable. We highly recommend them for your next solar installation or for troubleshooting a problem.

Started out great but it quickly went downhill. The job took months not weeks to finish. They never completed work got paid and have not heard back since. Power went out last week and solar battery backup system did not come on. The savings vs the cost just did not play out as advertised.
