DO NOT USE GUY ROOFING...I also made the mistake of using Guy Roofing....Big Mistake !!! Shoddy work, Deceptive Sales Quotes and Way over priced. The sales guy gave us an estimate of around 15K and never told us the final price. The price ended up being 22K. He also recommended expensive EPDM roofing for a small section that would blend right in with the rest of the shingles. It looks like a tarp... LESSON LEARNED !!!

I don't usually do reviews online but I was so impressed and pleased with my roof replacement I thought it would be a disservice to the many Guy employees not to do the review. I was completely satisfied from the initial sales guy David, to Ashley and Christie in scheduling and production to all the two crews that did the install thru to the Quality Check by Randy and final invoicing. Great job by all. The crews were highly skilled,professional and completed the work in 1 1/2 days. Our house was made beautiful by the new roof. Thanks to Guy Roofing. Highly recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement.

Bought a house 09/2020 that had a roof completely replaced by Guy Roofing 02/2018 thru the previous owners home insurance. Have a major leak and they said the warranty didn't extend to us. The girl "Ricky" I was speaking with then asked if I wanted them to come out for a quote. I'd have to be insane to have a company who can't stand behind their work for 5 years come out to try and fix it again! Stay away from these guys as they don't back their own workmanship!

I've never had to beg a company to take my business, so this was a first. We are purchasing a home and are getting home and system inspections completed during our due diligence period. We had our other inspections completed with no issue. The general home inspection noted some items regarding the roof, so we needed additional inspection to ensure everything is sound. After scheduling a time online with this company and notifying all parties, I received a call stating that they would not come out since I was not the property owner. I explained that we are ordering our due diligence inspections and they said they would only come out after we purchased the home, which obviously defeats the purpose of having inspections done during due diligence. I asked them if they were even familiar with due diligence and they were not, which I found to be odd. Our other inspectors have been knowledgeable and have bent over backwards to provide excellent customer service and have gained a long-term customer as a result. We will be going elsewhere for future roofing needs, however.

We recently had a tree limb fall on the corner of our house, and do some damage to the roof and to the gutter on the back of our house. I called Guy roofing to come out and give me an estimate, and Kevin, who is very friendly came out to see how Guy roofing could help us.Kevin ended up sending me two totals for the work that would be completed if we decided to move forward, however, he told me that it was Guy roofing policy to not provide detailed estimates. I explained to him that I needed a detailed estimate with pictures so that I could provide this to my insurance company.For whatever reason, Guy roofing will not provide a written detailed estimate so that our insurance company could review under our homeowners insurance policy. As a result, we went with another roofing company who provided a written estimate within an hours of visiting our home.Edit: 4/19/2024: notice how Guy Roofings response doesn’t negate what I said in my post here. I had a small job, just a few shingles to be replaced. I called twice to verify small jobs were acceptable. Wasted the $150 for a site visit. The service guy was nice but thousands to replace a couple shingles is only for someone who has money to burn.

They are the most deceitful people l have ever encountered with. They did a Condo and never finished the work. Did not put flashing around the chimney causing it to leak and they had to place the roof twice before now. The roof is only almost 4 years old. And is leaking again because of poor work. Tried to call several times but they would not come out . They put a mechanical lien on the property that they didn't finish. Would never recommend them never recommend them to anyone. Stay far away from these people. Very dishonest people.

They made a small leak worse which caused damage to the inside of the home. You can see the discoloration damage in the second photo. It also caused rippling on the ceiling that can't be fixed unless the ceiling is replaced. They tried to tell us that the rippling was there prior to their work on our roof but I know it was not because I just finished painting the ceiling and spent a long time looking at it.Third photo was what it looked like before they came.Service: Roof repair

When we originally spoke with salesman regarding estimate for job, we asked for at least one person to be on job that spoke English. Crew now here and no one understands us. Calling the company, we were told that they commiserate with us. They couldn't talk to crews either. How can we talk to the crew about the problems of our roof if no one else understands?Yes, well, both my husband and I didn't hear from the on site supervisor. About 1130am, one of the workers asked us for a saw. He explained his van was broken into and the saw was stolen. After many minutes, we were able to figure out he wanted to borrow ours. As my husband loaned the saw, I called Guy Roofing to tell them about the saw. Shortly thereafter, Joey, the supervisor showed up , apologized, explained it was all on his shoulders. He explained he was new to the job...whew. I explained that I have no problems with Latinos, but it is the responsibility of the company to pay their workers so they have a safe place to live, and responsibility to teach them the skills they need to do job, including speaking English. With Joey on site, I thought things would go better.At 6PM, still working and Joey gone. At 7PM and too dark to work, t workers still working attempting to clean up. One worker still on the roof, in the dark. At 7:30 PM, hubby and I went out and told them to vamoos. Finally at 8, we watched them leave. A worker assured us they would come back in morning go finish cleanup.They had better. The reply from Mr. Guy is appreciated, but inadequate.Called for update on clean up time....no clean up time planned. We we told that the crew tries to avoid returning to old job. Sounds like crew is encouraged to finish in a day which is commendable, however lack of leadership on site and proper tools delayed completion.I feel that the Latino crew was very good doing the work. The level of quality control was hindered severely from an admitted language barrier between superior and crew.The insurance company paid for roofing, but I will pay for nail in my tires.Service: Roof installation

DO NOT USE GUY ROOFING. Wanted free estimate on roof. Ended up signing up with them accidentally. Didn’t pay any money up front. They Got my information from insurance without my consent. They kept on harassing me to do my roof. They called me texted and mailed letters of harassment that they wanted their 18% which was $3,300 cancellation fee. They continued to threaten me with their attorneys. I couldn’t believe it. I have cancer and take biweekly chemo treatments and heart failure. They kept on threatening me. Very sad indeed

I head a lot of good things about Guy Roofing. With the recent hail storm and damage we decided to get a few quotes. Guy Roofing was the first company to come out. David showed up and met me and my wife. David was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything in detail and even showed us a few things. We decided right after he left we did not need to see anymore companies. The crew was on time and worked very hard during a very hot day installing the new roof. The even came back the next day to clean up even more. Austin the project manager was in constant contact with me. I have already recommended several of my friends to this company. Great experience from start to finish! Our sales rep (Dave), scheduler (Ashley) and quality specialist (Justin) were all great!! The site crew finished in one day (even after being interrupted by two rain showers!) and left everything clean and as they found it! Other houses in our neighborhood used other roofing companies, and they didn't have the positive experience we did. (We have a nail in our tire to prove that!!) Guy Roofing may not give you the cheapest quote, but, in the end, you'll probably pay more in both money and aggravation if you go elsewhere.

Would not recommend at all. Customer Service is awful, have placed three calls and never get a call back from them. We had to have our roof replaced due to hail damage. Covered everything in the front yard to the point we could not even get in the front door, when it came to the back yard nothing at all was covered and they left a disaster for us to clean up.

Scheduled an appointment online today. I had to drive 50 miles to get there and they did not show. Called after 40 minutes and someone said they needed more information. Also said they had called. Funny thing, there were no recent calls on my phone. They had already asked many questions online. Probably felt the job was too small. I mean what difference does it make if you are coming to estimate storm damage? Only listed one of the rentals online. What they thought was a 1500 square foot job was actually over 10,000 square feet. When you disrespect the value of time, you will never get their jobs.

Several years ago Guy Roofing came out and did a roof tuneup on my house after having the smaller companies promise a song and dance and never to be heard from. Guy Roofing did a great job on the roof tune up and we promised when the time came for a roof replacement, that we would use Guy Roofing. Fast forward to the present and it was time after the most recent hail storm. Guy Roofing did a EXCELLENT job with the replacement and took extra care during cleanup with having a dog. The entire experience with the whole process was tremendous.

If i could leave a 0 star i would bc unfortunately 1 star is way to much for this company. This company did our roof 5 yrs ago and immediately the poor work on my roof start showing up, during this past yrs they have to come to fix all their damages they cause on my roof more than 6 times and finally 5 yrs came by and my house has been completely destroy inside for all their mistakes and we still paying for it. So if you have problems with your roof bc of their poor work after 5 yrs, you are completely on your own. I wish i can post the pictures of all the water damage i have behind my fireplace is full of mold and completely rotted bc of my roof leaks after they installed. Very unfortunate but i know God will provides us to fix this situation in our home, they don't care bc is a multimillionaire company and believe me when i said that's what matter to them $😔Service: Roof installation

Scheduled a meeting to price and compare a dimensional shingle and standing seam roof. The kid was 40min late, that's understandable as I live in the Stix. He was also young and had delicate hands, had never installed a roof in his life, clearly just a trained saleman. That was also understandable but he had little knowledge of what I was talking about when I asked about metal roof coatings. He promised me a quote later that night or in the morning because he didn't have good enough signal to produce one there, one day, two days, at the end of the 3rd whole day after his visit and I have received no contact or response. It was generally a poor representation of the company.TLDR;-Late-Sale rep was inexperienced and lacking roofing knowledge-no follow up or quote after taking my time and leaving work early to meet

The people we dealt with were nice (so two starts for that), the ongoing leak that we spent $4,000 out of pocket to fix is not. We were told this expensive fix would stop the leak. It did not. They came out and blamed the gutters, then said they sealed them and it should be good now. Well we still have a leak and now they say it's the gutters and they can't do anything. The porch roof they replaced is very small, maybe 6'x4', for $4K I would not expect an ongoing leak. Won't be recommending them to anyone.Service: Roof repair

I had a roof leak and called Guy Roofing Inc. A sales rep came and said the roof looked great and repairs could be made to a window that was leaking and a spot leaking on top of the house. I received a quote of $6199 and signed a contract to have the work done. The sales rep assured me that Guy Roofing Inc. guarantees their work and if the area continued to leak they would come and fix it at no charge.A crew came to make the repairs and did not speak to me about the job, but a crew member did tell the man who came to fix my ceilings that the roof needed replaced and he didn't understand why they were wasting time repairing the leaks. I called the company and told them what was said and asked if I actually needed a new roof. I was told no, the sales rep who did my assessment was correct, and only the repairs were needed. I also told them that the window repair looked bad: there were deep marks from the ladder on the fascia as well as tar dripping down it. A piece of railing had been removed and reattached, the sites of reattachment look bad, they are not the same color as the siding, there are large areas of paint stripped off the railing, and there were green screws in the black rubber used for repair. A supervisor came and inspected the roof and window, agreed that the window looked bad and said he would send someone to fix it. He also said my roof was in good shape, not in need of replacement.The roof began leaking again so I called them to come and fix their "guaranteed" repair. A crew came and worked on the area. Another crew came and replaced the damaged fascia, but nothing further was done to the window. It still looks bad, and the rubber used for reseating is not even attached to the house. I spoke with a crew member and he told me, again, that the roof was not in need of replacement and that he "resealed the plumbing boot" and this was where the problem was. Twice more the leak occurred when raining, twice more I called them for service. The 2nd time, a quality inspector came out and told me the roof looked bad, it needed complete replacement. At this point, 3 crews, the sales rep, and a supervisor had all stated that the roof did not need replacement which was obviously untrue.The sales rep came back to give me an estimate on the replacement. The estimate was $14199. She told me that the $6199 I had paid would be applied to this balance, and that if I chose not to use Guy Roofing Inc. that the money would be refunded. She even told me to cancel the automatic payments that I had set up with the finance company as I would not need them if Guy Roofing Inc. did not do the replacement. I signed a contract for the replacement. Days later, she texted and told me that the owner's wife was now saying I would have to pay an additional $3000 out of pocket for "ice and water underlayment" or they would not warranty the roof, which was already listed in the contract. I asked why this was not already included in the estimate and was told that I didn't qualify for financing for that amount and that it was left off so that I would qualify. We could not pay this extra amount, so they refused to honor the signed contract.I began receiving statements from the finance company so I messaged the sales rep to see when I should expect the refund. She informed me that the owner's wife denied the refund. I sent an email to Guy Roofing Inc. detailing all of this, and got no response. I filed a complaint with the NC AG office with all of these details. I received a response, which included Guy Roofing Inc.'s outright lies about the situation. The decision stated that, since there was a dispute of facts, I would have to take the case to small claims court. The letter from Guy Roofing Inc. stated that they initially told me my roof needed repair and I refused and asked for repair only (not true). The letter stated that the leak was in a different area than the area they repaired (not true).I hope this helps someone deciding who to use for roof repair. I plan to pursue some action and to get this out in as many places as I can.Service: Roof repair

Of all the roofing companies in the upstate, there surely has to be better ones than this. Told on 2 occasions by Guy Roofing’s salespeople/inspectors we had hail damage to our roof and gutters and strung along for weeks only to be told while on a 3 way call with our insurance company that our damage was only wear and tear. Throughout the process there was zero communication from Guy Roofing (like salespersons phones going direct to full voicemails) and I constantly had to follow up with them about submitting documentation to our insurance company. My roof is pretty much flat with few valley's, they were able to get it done in a day. As far as billing goes, Sylvia handled everything, she was polite and professional! I unfortunately decided to hire Guy Roofing to do a relatively minor repair on my roof because some nail pops were causing a leak into my laundry room.The salesperson who came out was nice and responsive. I don't have any complaints about him personally. However, his entire pitch was about how Guy Roofing charges more because they have great service, never have any BBB complaints, all of their contractors go through mandatory training hours, etc. He said they charge a premium because (they claim) they have a premium service. I had responsiveness issues from other roofers and I needed the job done quickly, so I was fine paying a premium if I was going to get a premium service. I hired Guy Roofing for $1900 when other companies quoted around $1100.When the 2 guys came out to do the repair, they were nice enough, but they smoked cigarettes the entire time they did the job, so I had to keep my windows closed to keep the smoke out of my house. That would have been bad enough if they actually fixed the leak I hired them to. But next time it rained, I walked into my laundry room and the leak was WORSE than it was before I hired Guy Roofing. Obviously frustrated, I emailed the sales rep, who told their office and had another person come out and fix the original crew's work (i.e. actually do the job I paid them to do).Unfortunately, the continued leak after Guy Roofing's shoddy repair caused damage to my ceiling that wasn't there before I hired them. There was a very minor stain before I hired them, but the continued leak after their 'repair' caused my ceiling to warp and ripple.I told the rep, who assured me in writing that Guy Roofing would take responsibility and repair the damage to my ceiling. When I called in to have this work scheduled, the woman on the phone also assured me they'd have it taken care of. However, right after that call a person who I gather is some kind of manager, called me back and told me that Guy Roofing would NOT take care of the damage that was caused by their shoddy work (which, again, I paid a premium for). He said the damage to my ceiling was pre-existing, even though his own employees took photos directly disproving that claim. After arguing with him for some time, he said he'd have to 'talk to management' to see what they could do.After this call, I again emailed the original sales rep, who insisted that Guy Roofing would repair the ceiling damage, both the paint and warping. The manager then called me again and reversed course, saying that they would take care of the damage.When the interior contractor came out to repair the ceiling, he showed me a text FROM THE SAME MANAGER saying not to take care of the whole ceiling, just to touch up the paint where there was staining, directly contradicting what he told me they'd do.I let him just touch up the paint, but I did follow up with the manager, who said that they couldn't repair the whole ceiling in that room because they didn't realize it was plywood and the contractor only deals with sheetrock. This was a lie, because he had texted the contractor not to repair the ceiling before he even got to my home.After expressing my frustration again to this manager, he offered to refund me $300 to put the matter to rest. At this point I was sick of dealing with Guy Roofing, so I verbally accepted.HOWEVER, I then received an agreement to sign in order to receive this refund, which had a NDA and non-disparagement clause, saying that if I signed (which I did not), I would not write any negative reviews about Guy Roofing online. They were trying to buy my silence by refunding me a fraction of the cost of the ceiling repair I now need because of their shoddy work.If you are considering Guy Roofing, save yourself some time and money. Take a hammer, whack a hole in your own roof, then give yourself a lobotomy with a screwdriver.Even in their response to me below, they deny any responsibility for the damage.
