Schoeneman's had the solution I needed when it came time to replace my 50+ year old single pane windows. Don Kaarre, from the Sioux Falls store, had all the answers I needed for a direct replacement of my awning style units. The product selection was good and the unit price was well within my budget. The windows arrived in relatively good time and Don had arranged with a local installer to remove the old windows and install the new. The installer showed up ready to work and had all the new windows installed in under two days. Amazing quality of work! They look great and function as designed. I'm very happy with the result.

Over the last 8 months or so, I have got to meet the staff as Schoenemans Hawarden location as I worked on fixing an older house. It has been a great experience to work with a small team that is friendly, helpful and full of useful suggestions, particularly when compared to big box hardware stores. Pices are good as well. I am a very satisfied customer!

We have been updating our house and were looking for siding. Schoenemans is very cost competitive. Shopped around at all the big box stores and their knowledge of products and service blew away competition. Gary was easy to work with, took his time to answer all of our questions, made sure we had all additional supplies we needed. Materials were paid for at noon, all products were delivered before 5 same day. Would recommend to anyone.

We have always had good luck with all products purchased at Schoenaman's. We recently had some treated timber delivered and had a great customer experience. At 7:45 on a cool, wet morning, Chris noticed our 2.5 year old son admiring his flatbed truck. Chris invited my toddler to look around the truck and honk the horn, then gave both he and my other son carpenter's pencils! It was such a kind gesture, and a great way to start our day.

I hate giving poor reviews but that is the reality sometimes. This was the first time stepping into Schoenemans - we went to a variety of stores searching for shiplap for a project we are doing at home. We had a very friendly gentleman help us in providing a quote for our project. I was disappointed though that I was pushed to buying long boards for my project. I know the cost per board is exponentially higher the longer the board you buy. I was given a quote for 16’ boards. Stating that that would provide the least amount of waste. I had mentioned I was planning on having seams in the wall that didn’t line up - for texture and that I didn’t need that long of board nor would there really be much waste…. We walked away with a quote for nearly 4x what we actually ended up paying. So my take away was friendly but I can find quality in a better price range elsewhere.

This is a great place for building materials and originated from an impressive local family. The quality of products is 5 stars but the prices reflect that. They can often be undercut but yiu will struggle to find a straight board from a big box chain store.Weigh your options carefully and if time is your main concern, go here and get the project finished. If budget is your focus, go somewhere else and fight the project the entire way to its end.

When shopping for replacement windows, we were excited to find Schoeneman's had a Window Replacement program that provides clients with a specialist to assist the buyer from product selection though installation. We were so pleased with the professionalism and knowledge of Don Kaarre, a true Window Replacement Specialist. Don was patient and helpful during product selection. He was prompt and detailed with the quotes. Don handled the vetting and selection of the installer. We were very pleased with the installation by K & E Remodeling. Everything was done on time and with no financial surprises. The installation crew was skilled and courteous. Don provided us updates throughout the installation. When we decide to tackle other project we will start with a call to Don Kaarre at Shoeneman’s.

Very rude staff. Very tense. A lot of swear words from staff being yelled around office. Not welcoming at all. Front desk guys are all crabby. Terrible customer experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

If you ever have a Anderson window problem DO NOT CONTACT SCHOENEMAN'S! I had a situation with a patio door (200 perma shield) that had spontaneous combustion on the left panel. Called Schoenaman's because I thought they where the Andersen window reps. Big, Big mistake!!! They come over to look and take pictures at my broken panel and said something had hit the glass. I said that the only thing that hit this glass was the dog's nose. Believe it or not, the one rep Terry said" How big is the dog? The other guy Mike started shaking his head and said little, as in 10 pounds ! Long story short. They left me with a shattered panel for 3 weeks and said it won't be covered but, they could sell me a panel at a discounted price of $510.00 WHAT? I said I'm going to call Andersen myself. Mike said oh" you don't need to that" in a worried tone. I went over to talk with a guy I've known at Home Depot that works in the windows and doors to see what he could do. I showed him the pictures of the shattered panel and he immediately said yep" that's definitely spontaneous glass combustion. Then i told him what transpired with schoenamans. He said let me call my Andersen rep. and see what's going on. After hanging up he said they have no record of it even being reported! WHAT! I said they told me they turned it in and it was denied? He said nope, they have no record of it at all! With in a day I get a call from the Andersen Window heads and they tell me that everything will be warrantied and replaced at no charge. I should of took them to court but didn't due to the fact that Craig Hanson one of the head chiefs at Andersen wanted to settle it and did. Conclusion... They still work there.
