I make certain when possible to write reviews for people or companies that my husband and I use. This review has proven to be difficult to write. For it to be accurate, I must divide people into categories and review them separately.This past summer (2023) we needed a complete tear-off and replacement of our roof. We have a very complicated roof with a flat roof, steep pitches, low pitches, sky lights, and dead valleys. Our landscaping is also extensive and many of the established plants are forty years old. In talking to representatives from many roofing companies, we settled on Brian Elder Roofing.Our initial contact was with Brent Rainer. He is an invaluable employee for the company. From our first meeting and throughout the process, he was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable both about all facets of roofing, but also the ins and outs of navigating an insurance claim.We spoke extensively to Brent and outlined our many concerns regarding the project itself and our landscaping. He agreed with those and we felt confident. Brent was with us throughout what would become an ordeal. He never wavered in his assurances that the job was not complete until we were satisfied. Although he had many responsibilities beyond our project, he was always only a phone call away. Many times he came to our house at the end of the day to “put out fires” caused by crew members. Brent deserves five stars in this review.The foreman was knowledgeable and desired a good outcome for us. From our perspective, his absence from the job site resulted in many mistakes that were difficult for us and costly for the roofing company. I did not feel that he had the respect of the two crews who worked on our property. Rating him separately, I would have to give him only three stars.The two crews who worked on the project by and large disrespected our landscaping and their work. In one example, the flat roof was to be torn off and replaced after the rest of the extensive regular roofing was done. A tarp was put on our driveway and roofing debris, along with decking boards, shunted down the brand new shingles between two of our front dormers. The damage caused to the new shingles necessitated completely replacing all of the ones in that area from the gutter up to the flat roof. This was a costly mistake for the roofing company and a disappointment to us. If rated separately, I would give the first crew one star and the second crew two stars.When all was over, I sent Brian Elder an email and attached a list of eighteen problems we had encountered and which had to be (and were) corrected. To his credit, he called me and was willing to discuss everything. By that time, we had signed off on the job, but Mr. Elder assured us that crew one had been fired and the second crew had done a poor job. He asked if there was anything more to be done and offered his sincere apology. I would give Brian Elder five stars. He took responsibility, made necessary corrections, and showed concern. I feel the company is reputable because of Mr. Elder’s desire to make things right for the customer. Overall, I gave four stars rather than five because of the aforementioned difficulties with the crews and the lack of oversight of the foreman.

We had our roof replaced this last week by the Brian Elder Roofing Company. We had damage done by a storm that had gone through Hernando. A neighbor suggested having our roof checked. I contacted Wesley, the Project Manager, and asked him to check our roof. He responded quickly to my call and came by our house the next day. After examining our roof he felt like we were eligible for a new roof. He met with the insurance adjuster to show him the damage that he had found and what would need to be replaced, including the decking. He literally was our advocate to getting the roof repaired. Within a week we were on the schedule for replacement.When it was time for the repairs to be done the workmen showed up when they said they would and they worked very hard and long hours! They were finished in two and a half days! Something else that was important was that they were diligent about cleaning up after the job, including using a sweeping magnet in flower beds and the yard!From the time the first call was made to Wesley the whole roofing project was done professionally, the workers were pleasant, communication was clear, and all of our repairs inside and out were taken care of by this company. It was nice not to have to keep trying to get ahold of someone to help but they were proactive about completing the job. We would definitely recommend the Brian Elder Roofing Company for your needs! Brent treated me like family and took care of everything. The roof repair was done in one day and that included them cleaning up EVERYTHING. I haven’t found one nail in my yard. Years ago, I taught customer service in a large organization. I used examples of how to do it right — and wrong. I sometimes had individuals come in to speak to what caused them to give exceptional service. What motivated them. If I were still teaching, I would be using Mark Morris as a best case example and asking him to come and talk to new employees during orientation. Doing business with Brian Elder roofing was a joy! Brent Rainer, Project Manager, made what I thought would be a stressful situation, something that I didn't have to think about. I was switching from an insurance provider that I had been with for a long time to a new provider. Upon inspection, the new provider said they couldn't insure our home unless the roof was replaced by the provider I was switching from because it was showing years of storm damage. Brent worked with both insurance companies on my behalf. He was at my home for inspection by both companies. When the company I was leaving came out to inspect, Brent arrived before they did. He took pictures during their inspection and made sure their inspection results were accurate. He communicated with me continuously and would have my questions answered before I asked them. He gave me a date for my new roof installation, told me my roof could be installed in one day and they were here. After the work began he was able to confirm that the job would be finished in one day. We are so happy with our new roof. The workers cleaned my property during installation and after they were finished with the roof. My yard actually looked better than before they started😊. Everything turned out the way I needed it to. Brent took care of our needs as if he was handling his own personal business. Mr. Wesley Terry was our project manager for replacing my mom’s roof. It started as a wind-damage job and the insurance company paid for half of the new roof. It was a tear off jas well. I want to provide updates. In 2021, the roof was leaked, and a careless fix was done. No wonder it's leaking now, damaged part of the house and they are going to charge us to fix their problem.Bad luck,7/27/2023---------------------------I spent 15K on roof replacement but my experience with them hasn’t been good overall, however, I think the salesman is a responsible person. (my main concern is quality because the team who did the roof replacement can't speak English and it leaks now just within 3 month of replacement.) See the details below:1. Summary: How I started root replacementTime: 2019-11.What: The salesman took a look on the roof and convinced us to replace the entire roof by saying, if there is a leak, it is very hard to say where it comes from. If you asked us to fix this leak, we can only replace the shingle on top of it, you pay it and we can’t guarantee it will work.Fact: Now when I’m writing this, I still feel like this logic is very convincible.2. Summary: Team came all of a sudden and can’t speak English.Time: 2020-1What: All of a sudden, a team knocked my door at 7 am on a Saturday morning. I was very angry because no one told me that they will replace the roof today. Even worse, there is only one person is able to speak English in this team of 6 or 7 people! I complained about it to the salesman, but he said he had a terrible week. So I said OK, it could be that he forgot to tell me the schedule. He also reassured me that even though they can’t speak English, they can do professional job. I highly doubt it though. So the roof replacement took 2 days and they damaged my lawn.Fact: it turns out that I’m right, they did a messy job. See what happens next.3. Summary: Leaking again and damaged my house.Time: 2020-4What: With 15K cost of roof replacement, I didn’t expect this to happen at all. The google review shows a good reputation for this company, however, just within 3 month of replacement, it leaks again?!Fact: let them replace the roof for you, they gangrene to fix any leaks for 50 years. You will probably also have 50 years of nightmare. This is all based on the fact the leak occurs just within 3 month of replacement, I highly doubt their quality.
