Was looking for a roofer to repair my roof. Did a search on the web for recommended roofers in the local area of Millington and Don Sharp pulled up as one of the results. Contacted Don Sharp Home Improvements late Friday afternoon via their online form off their webpage. Come that following Monday morning, the owner Don Sharp called me on my cellphone requesting more details of my needs. I told him I needed an estimate on a new roof, window replacement and gutter installation. After we were done talking, Don sent me via email information about his company, a copy of their license and insurance, and some reviews from previous customers. By that afternoon, Don had one of his Project Managers (Dustin) contact me to arrange times for the estimates. The turnaround on the estimates were provided quickly and Don & his team were very patient with us as they awaited our final decision. When we finally decided to do business with Don for our home improvement needs, his team were once again very patient and understanding as we went through the process of securing the loan with our bank for the funding. The communication/correspondence through every facet of the work being done on our home was seamless. Don’s team has done great work on our home! Professionalism through and through!! I couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommend!!

Don Sharp Home Improvements installed siding, energy efficient windows, shutters, and gutters. Project began on time and was completed in a little over a week (rain delays). The installation team was very professional, friendly, and respectful of the property. They were in constant communication with me updating me on the progress of ordering materials all the way through until completion of the job. Dustin was incredibly helpful in assisting me with choosing a color scheme. The house looks absolutely amazing! Don Sharp Home Improvement has done work for us in the past. Several years ago they installed vinyl siding on our house. The weather turned bad during the process, but they stayed with it until it was completed. We were very happy with the job. After the June 25th Storm in Bartlett, we had considerable damage to the vinyl siding on toone outside wall. I contacted Don personally and within 10 days the siding was repaired! There was some hidden damage that they found, and they repaired that as well! To say we were happy is an understatement!

Nearly a year ago, we started work with a different contractor to finish our bonus-room. After a number of cost-overruns, missed-deadlines, constant excuses and questionable workmanship, we fired the contractor.We were left with the nightmare of a partially completed bonus-room that needed a lot of work to try and get back on track. We then started looking for other contractors to finish the job. We had many recommendations and leads for a different contractor, however most would not return our calls. Those contractors that did bid seemed that their bids were entirely too high.We then contacted Don Sharp Home Improvements to come give us a bid. Don came over and he discussed all of our options and what needed to happen to get the project back on track. A few days later, he scheduled his drywall crew and finish-carpenter to come and assess our needs. A few days later, Don emailed us the quote. We felt the bid was very fair. We made our decision to sign the contract with Don.Work on the bonus-room started shortly after. We immediately noticed that actual progress was being made on a day-to-day basis. A nice surprise was that Don would periodically email/text us pictures of the progress that was being made. It was soon obvious that we had made the correct decision in hiring Don.In addition to finishing the bonus room, we have since had him replace three windows, replace all of the shutters on the front side of the house and replace rotting siding on the back side of our house. All these jobs were completed on schedule and we’re pleased with the quality of the work, materials and craftsmanship.Don gave us a lot of great ideas and suggestions during the process but was never pushy or never tried to expand the scope of the project. He seemed sympathetic to our situation and worked within the budget.Our ONLY regret was not hiring Don Sharp Home Improvements the first time. We look forward to working with Don on future home-improvement projects.As a side-note, you’re always leery of strangers being in your home when you’re not there. We never worried with any of Don’s crew. In fact, one day we came home to find that one of his workers had brought a FedEx package inside that had been delivered to us and left at our door.

We have done business with Don for many years. For Roofing, gutters, exterior and interior painting. He has always been the first one I call. Recently Don sent Carlos Chavez to oversee replacing 19 interior doors with frames. They did great work and were very meticulous in their work. I was really afraid that the paint I had on hand or that they purchased to touch up would not match, but it was amazing. They cleaned up and made sure I was happy with the work before leaving. We contacted Don Sharp Home Improvements to repair what we thought was just a few missing shingle tabs from wind damage. They came out to do the repair and noticed more wind damage than we could see from the ground. They advised us to consider speaking with our insurance company. We did. The insurance adjuster decided it would be best to replace the whole roof. Don and Alan were great communicators throughout the process, meeting us to sign documents that needed to be notarized and sent to our mortgage company, being patient as we waited on the insurance and mortgage company processes and being quick to get the job executed on a week where it looked like the weather wasn't going to cooperate. Their crew showed up at 7am and worked hard and fast until past 7pm for 2 days, wrapping up the 3rd morning (we have a big roof). Don is always quick to answer the phone and any questions or concerns that we have. We trust him and we highly recommend him for your next home project.

We had a tree crash into our roof and covered porch during last summer's storms and needed a contractor who could fix the roof, eaves, and rebuild the porch cover. Don and Dustin were both knowledgeable, patient and very easy to work with. When a problem arose due to a roofing mistake, they were quick to respond and remedy the situation. Eric and his crew did a fantastic job rebuilding the porch cover even better than it was before.End result is a beautiful back porch, looking better than it has in years. Thank you all so much!

From start to finish, the communication and execution was great. We had 16 windows installed to replace the screens on our back porch. After reading so many positive reviews about Don Sharp Home Improvements, I decided to contact the company for a major renovation project that included replacing the roof, lots of rotten wood, all Masonite siding with Hardie board and remodeling the dormers and the front porch. This project required planning, coordination, and communication. Don and his crew delivered! Don responded (while on vacation) to my initial call and sent someone out to provide the roof replacement quote. I was impressed because there are so many nonresponsive contractors in the area. Fortunately, Dustin, Erick and his crew continued with excellent communication, customer service and professionalism. Don and his team stand by their words of ensuring an exceptional customer experience. I feel that the entire team went above and beyond. The work performed was top notch. I have received so many compliments on the renovations. Don Sharp and his team did an amazing job and delivered quality work. I was able to update my 1980’s country style house to a fresh modern farmhouse. I don't want to give an entirely negative review, but I also want people to know what they're getting. I bought windows through Don Sharp. I didn't go top of the line, but also didn't go budget Lowes windows either. At least I didn't think I was.The quality of the windows was overhyped, in my opinion. One of the windows won't open inwards because a plastic piece extends into the groove of between the window and the frame so it can't come out. This is something that would have been readily apparent if the installers tested the windows after putting them in. I should have tested them myself at the time but it didn't occur to me that they wouldn't have. I actually just found this problem today, about a year later, because I hadn't had reason to open that window inwards until now. That's what is prompting me to write this review.The contract stated that they would haul away the old windows. They didn't. They left them on the curb and when I called them to come get the windows I was told to just wait and see if the city would pick them up. The city did but they use a truck with a claw machine and it broke the windows leaving glass shards everywhere. This was in addition to the old broken frames the installers left scattered in my yard. When I told them they needed to come clean up the glass they started asking me about buying more windows before the glass and frames had been cleaned up from my yard.The installers also failed to smooth the caulk on one of the windows. I didn't catch this until a couple of weeks later because it's a rarely used window. At this point I was sick of working with them so I just cleaned off the old caulk and redid it myself.The installers were also late by like a couple of months. I understand with COVID the supply chain was a mess, but they wouldn't let me know that they weren't coming until the actual appointment time.If you're looking for budget windows with budget level installation and don't mind a bit of a hassle, this will work for you. If you're trying to improve the value of your home and want nice products and nice work, go somewhere else.I've seen Don's replies to other reviews, including one where he gave the guy's first name publicly even though it's hidden on his profile (real classy), and I see that the response is that customers have the ability to check the work before they leave. This is true. Make sure you check thoroughly.
