The simple story of our build with Sherlock Homes was that our home was built ahead of schedule and on budget, with unbelievable communication and reliability. Not to mention, we have been in our new home for a few weeks now, and it is everything we envisioned and the quality is first rate. From the first sales meeting with Shad, to the build communications with Thadeus, and the on-site coordination with Trevor, these folks have it down to a science. Their vendors and contractors are loyal to them and their customers, enabling on time and reliable work. There are no surprises; everything is above board and transparent. This was our first build, and we saw so many unfortunate home building stories on line; this was not one of those. This was an absolute success story and we cannot recommend Sherlock Homes enough!

We hired Sherlock Home Builders to build our dream Victorian country home in the College Grove, TN, area. To put our total build from start to finish in a few words would be, WOW, unbelievable, beat our expectations, built our home exactly as planned, even added a few free surprises along the journey. We have built homes in the past with other builders and have always had problems unresolved, but with the Sherlock team we never -- and I mean never -- had any issues that came up that were not taken care of immediately. Sherlock strove for our happiness 100% of the time. Sherlock is the most organized, efficient, and detailed builder in the surrounding Middle TN area. If you're looking for a builder, there are a few things you might want to consider: If you have a building issue and you call, will your builder always be there? Will your builder be conscious of your budget? Will your builder be detailed in all matters of your build? Will your builder be protective of your needs? Will your builder be gracious and kind during the complete build? Will your builder complete the home on time? After your home is completed, will your builder still be with you if any unforeseen situation arises? Will your builder become your friend? For us the answer to all these questions is a resounding YES! If you're looking for a builder to understands your needs, I would hire Sherlock Home Builders a thousand time over.

Sherlock Homes Builders just recently built a barn for our home. They did a beautiful job - very fast, reliable, professional, responsive and communications were great. They provided detailed information upfront regarding the project and maintained excellent updates throughout the process. We highly recommend them for any new build and/or remodel. People need to know the truth about the Schwartz brothers trading under the name of “Sherlock Homes” without being threatened with legal action for writing an honest review. Main concerns are the structural integrity of the house due to foundation and drainage issues occurring due to a lack of thought or care. Absolutely terrible craftsmanship all round for a brand new home built with a lack of quality control or attention to detail. They use mostly non skilled labor crews they like to refer to as “technicians” with their goal to build you a new home as fast as possible using the cheapest materials and labor possible to maximize their profit. Customer satisfaction is not the priority or goal. The final walk-through to highlight issues not noticed by them is a joke when pointing out defects, they get personally offended and emotionally upset very easily when showing them the poor quality. All they want to do is rush you through to get that final signature for payment and then onto the next house. Absolutely cannot endorse or recommend these “builders” to anyone. Cookie-cutter track homes are far superior quality compared to these rogues.Feel free to reach out to me to go into details of my experience and tour our new home. My home burnet to the ground so I called Sherlock Homes and Shad met me on site of the rubble that was left…I liked him right away. He took care of getting me the house that I loved. Thaddeus is very good at what he does in the building process. Then Trevor was the man on-site to make sure things were done right and on schedule.The Swartz brothers are the best. I still think they are great and would recommend them to anyone in need of building a house. They knew how bad we needed to be back in our new home and they did all they could to get us there! Got us in 2 weeks a head of schedule. We recently moved into our house built by Sherlock Homes Builders and are incredibly happy with our beautiful home! Working with the Schwartz brothers was a pleasure. They listened to what we wanted for our home and built it at a price we were comfortable with . Working with their vendors was very easy and they were able to assist us in purchasing the style of products we wanted, while keeping us within our budget. We looked forward to our Friday reports and always knew where we were in the building process. Also whenever we had a question we always got a quick response. It was an amazing experience that was completely stress free because they handled all the details. Our home was completed a month ahead of schedule! Sherlock built us a home in 2016. We were not happy with the process and/or the end result. Their attention to detail, customer service and quality of work were all poor. If we had to use one word to describe their work on our house, it would be sloppy, in all aspects. If you hire these “custom builders”... get use to hearing: “No”...”it meets code”...”I don’t see a problem”...”Have you looked at your contract?”And don’t expose any framing. Apparently, framing and the wood supporting a house is supposed to look crooked, weak and full of splits... “that’s what you asked for.” (exposed).If they tell you something or promise you something for the house, check your contract. They told us several things and never wrote it down and in the end we never got what they promised because it wasn’t written in the contract.We could write a book about all the problems. To keep it short, here are some pictures. Things not pictured; we have sagging floors, crooked railings around the porch, doors that do not shut, paint job that is sloppy and when they have fixed other items, the fixes were just as bad (fixing a wobbly banister with glue and shims that you can see). With all their previous “fixes” we have decided to abandon our warranty period because we want the errors fixed the right way.J&M from Maury County TN

Best home building experience I could have imagined!! I have so many good things to say it will be hard to keep it short. Starting with Shad who walked me though the entire process of what a build would be like and worked closely with me to come up with the perfect floor plan. He answered all my questions and never made be feel as if i was bothering him with some silly questions I had. Next, Thaddeus who was our contact through the entire build. He was our life line through the process and made sure to communicate throughly any changes or updates. He was always happy and available to answer questions or explain changes. He is super organized and really knows what he is doing and does it well. Lastly Trevor who was on site with the contractors and making sure everything with the house was going smoothly. We didn't have much direct communication with him expect for walkthroughs but if we had questions about anything specific on the job he would jump on the call to explain it to us and what our options were. He was great during the walk throughs to make us feel comfortable with what was going on and would be the first to point out something he felt wasn't up to standards even if we missed it, and have it fixed.We were building from out of state and were very nervous about the communication with a builder from so far away. Little did we know Sherlock Homes Builders would be excellent in this department, They kept us updated weekly, often sent pictures of new things happening and if we asked from more or specific photos of something they got them to us quickly.They accommodated our tight schedule with flights to TN during COVID and made sure we had all our appointments for finishes lined up. All the vendors they used were very helpful and had great products. All this added up gave us the dream home we had hoped for in the end!We have now been living in the house almost 2 months LOVE it. The small things that have come up that have needed repair or we noticed weren't quite as expected, they have been quick to get someone out to take care of the problem. And follow up to make sure it completed and to our standards.I would recommend Sherlock Homes Builders to anybody looking to build in Middle TN!!

We had a great experience with Sherlock Homes through the home building journey! We were given their information as a prospective local builder by one of the lenders in middle Tennessee that we were considering and we are glad we went with them... from our first meeting with Shad to talk about what we were looking to build, to working with Thaddeus and Trevor during the building and completion stages, we felt at peace the entire time! They kept us updated on progress weekly, contacted us immediately when they saw "yellow flags" to make sure we were aware and understood any possible delays in the schedule and worked with us to bring in the building timeline (window supply issues/delays)! I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with this great local family builder!We are very happy with the quality of our house! We were never caught off guard by the weekly progress reports because they always kept us informed on progress and potential delays. They addressed our concerns as we raised them and answered any questions that we had along the way! We highly recommend Sherlock Homes Builders. They built us our amazing forever home exactly as we wanted. They were organized, responsive, professional, friendly, and did superb quality work. We built with Sherlock in 2017. Even before we signed the contract to build, the Schwartz brothers were willing to help us assess our build site and address some preliminary matters. It was a positive experience from the time we signed the contract until our home was completed to our specifications and on time.This is a family business, and they worked very well as a team. They were always quick to respond which is important when you are addressing the inevitable issues that arise and need to be addressed during the build process. They used WhatsApp which allowed us to communicate at any time of day and also maintained a record of our discussions for ease of reference.;Sherlock provided us with a fixed price contract and outlined the agreement in detail. We did spend a lot of time on the front end working out the details. Even with planning, we wanted to make a few changes/upgrades during the process, and they were always willing to enter the change order with fair pricing. As with any contract, it is good to make sure that you understand what is included in the price, and Sherlock's standard is very high quality.Sherlock provides for a 1-year warranty on any issue. We had a home inspection just before the warranty was about to end, and the home inspection found only a couple of minor cosmetic-type issues. These were fixed with no questions asked. We also had our garage door get off of the track after the warranty period and, when I called to get the name of the installer, Sherlock stated they would take care of it. It was fixed that day.Would I recommend Sherlock? Absolutely. If we were going to build again, they would be who I would call.

We worked with Sherlock Homes Builders in 2017. This was our first homebuilding experience and we are so pleased with our new home. We were a bit anxious, asked hundreds of questions and learned a lot during the process. From the very first meeting, we felt at ease with them and we were always treated with respect. They were (and still are) readily available to answer a question or problem-solve. Communication, customer service, and professionalism was beyond our expectations in every way. Shad, Trevor, and Thaddeus work well as a team and their individual areas of expertise complement each other. The entire process was not without some glitches but everything was handled promptly and to our satisfaction. In our background research on builders, Sherlock came highly recommended by not only their vendors/contractors but also our banker. If we ever build another home, they will be our first call!

Lets face it, building a home is always a challenge however, we enjoyed our experience with the Schwartz Bros/Sherlock Homes. We built our new home in 2016 out in the country and found that no matter the issues we faced, Trevor, always met us with a smile and a hug. He worked with us to make sure we were satisfied with the end result. All the contractors on site were good guys and treated us like part of the gang. Despite the stressful parts of building a new home, they always seemed to find a way to offer suggestions or workarounds usually with a good laugh. We have recommended Sherlock Builders to anyone who has asked us for advice. Its hard to find good guys in such a tough business, we were pleasantly surprised to find such a company exists.

We built our home in 2006, when the market was hot. We had a great first-time building experience with the usual delays, and felt the builder listened to our specific requests and worked with subcontractors that we requested. In addition, we felt the building costs were very fair. The only thing I would say negative is the fact that the front-door configuration that was installed was different from the model we saw, and we weren't advised of that fact. Otherwise, the house is 12 years old. has withstood the test of time, are now thinking of building again, and will consider Sherlock.

I have had to contact them on a few different occasions regarding where I could purchase materials that was used to construct the home and Danny’s customer service has been nothing short of outstanding!!Thank you Sherlock Homes for building a quality home!
