I purchased their ultimate underground shelter. Their website shows roof ventilation but they have changed the design and no longer offer rooftop vents and have switched to small vents in the door, which appear to be inadequate. In my opinion this is an extremely poor design as it allows condensation from the metal door to build up in the shelter and over time you will have standing water in your shelter from the constant rain of condensation coming off the metal door. This company should be ashamed of itself with their false advertising and cost cutting measures hurting their customers. I don't have lots of money but needed a shelter for my family now I have an expensive hole in the ground. Worst $5000 Ive ever spent.

Worst purchase I could've made. I bought a shelter, got in installed. After a few months it lifted up about a foot. I called and email the company. After finally getting a hold of someone they said they could come out to fix it. They came, made a mess in my yard trying to collect dirt to just fill it in. I called again stating I was not happy with the result and the "solution" they had done. Eventually the owner called and said she was going to send someone else to fix it. That they would dig it out, dig around it and let the excess water out and reinstall. The worker came out to my house, looked at it and said no that can't be fixed and that it was collect water because of where it was. The same place they suggested to me when they came to install it. Never heard anything back again. Now I'm stuck with the shelter that I have to literally raise my leg up to be able to get in. Please look elsewhere for a shelter. Oh and if you have problem, don't expect to have it looked at soon. They'll put you on a "list" and theyll call like 6 months later out of nowhere saying we'll be there tomorrow.

I purchased the "Ultimate" underground shelter from them. The installation crew was nice, and, did a great job. However, I have two issues. 1: Ventilation... They no longer have the rooftop vents. They drilled some holes in the door and put a cover over it. This does not allow enough ventilation, in my opinion. All of their website photos still show the original rooftop turbines. 2: I am right at 6ft tall and have major back problems. I purchased this unit solely based on the description that stated an inside height of 6'1". IT IS NOT! The inside height is barely 5'10". I have to hunch over when moving around. This adds to my back problems. I would not have purchased this shelter had I known the inside height was not as advertised. I would have found one that was.The side-to-side dimensions are not accurate, either. Its several inches smaller than advertised in all directions. The other dimensions were not a huge deal to me, but, they should still be truthful in their advertising. So, will the shelter do its' job? yes. I didn't make them dig it back up. But, beware. The dimenions are not as advertised, and, you'll need to leave the door open ALOT due to the lack of ventilation.

They installed a storm shelter then within a couple of months it started lifting. In about 6 months it had lifted about a foot. Making it hard for us to get in it. When I called in Feb 2022 they said they could come out in 12 weeks. It’s now late August 2022 about 6 months and no one ever came. I finally called back, just for them to say if it’s floating we can’t do anything about it. No refund, no fix… it’s an act of god and too bad for us. I recommended them at the beginning to friends and 2 of them got one. But I will never recommend them again.

The guys that installed were very professional and nice. Though it took longer than expected to get the shelter I think it was the best choice and everyone I had contact with were very helpful and professional.

Excellent Service, Quick and Easy Install, Great Price. I definitely recommend them and their product!!I purchased and had installed the Standard Under-Ground Storm Shelter.I t took them 1 Hr and 20 minutes from arrival to leaving. Within that time, The hole was dug, the Storm Shelter was Placed inserted and covered up, the excess dirt was moved to another location on my property, the area was cleaned up, I was given instructions and tips on how to care for the shelter, all my questions were answered and then they were gone.An Excellent . Experience!

we ordered a deluxe above ground shelter, it was delivered and strapped down today they did a great job and were very friendly to boot. The shelter is very well built , and it was well worth the wait ! the wife and I would totally recommend fain storm shelters to anyone looking for a good storm shelter. thanks again to the team at Fain storm shelters. bill/pam

We purchased a storm shelter in the spring of 2012 so I've given this issue quite some time. I am sorry to say that I do regret that purchase. The shelters moisture problem is a tremendous issue. I have to basically keep the door standing open with a box fan blowing into the shelter when the weather is nice. Having a storm shelter door standing open with little kids running around is not a good thing. I installed a ventilation fan this spring and it's still no better. It collects anywhere from 1-3" of water typically over the course of a couple weeks without leaving the door open. This is due to the extreme amount of condensation build up. I don't believe there is the presence of a physical leak although the water is definitely worse after a day or two of rain.The only support I've gotten when emailing the company is just the statement that it usually straightens itself out after a year or two and that they don't really have Much of an issue with the ones at the store. It's unfortunate that if I'm not constantly managing that on a weekly basis then the shelter would not be safe enough for our family to go into due to the mold and mildew and water from all the condensation. In closing it would be a strong suggestion to avoid purchasing a concrete storm shelter from this company.

The people at Fain are just amazing friendly they care and do an amazing job me and my wife bought an ultimate underground storm shelter wait time was a bit long but not because of them they can not and will not put it in the ground until the ground is dry that’s for your safety and so the shelter will not float up shelter went in amazing guys made sure it was level I love it! Thanks again so much!!!

Quick to get me set up during a horrible tornado season a few years back. I was lucky enough to have mine located beside my driveway. Due to all the rain, others were having to wait for weeks. Getting ready to call about another for family members elsewhere. In & out in a few hours. And great to work with.

I called after the Kentuck tornado outbreak in December 2021. They said 8-12 weeks for delivery. I have emailed them around April/May for a delivery and installation update and they replied that they’d be out within a few weeks. It is now August of ‘22 and I have no shelter nor have I ever heard back from them.

These are first rate shelters at an affordable price. Very strong and well built. They do require some landscaping on top (on the underground models) if you want them to look respectable.
