Full review coming. I'm my opinion I cannot recommend you use Blue Star construction. How do I start. Jacob told us we should expect 3 weeks for our project to be completed ( new covered deck and siding), we'll that took 3 1/2 months. We experienced constant delays do to materials not being delivered when needed, and having constant problems getting ahold of Jacob or his secretary. I know other reviews state how professional he was, but we did not see any of that after we signed the contract with him. I originally posted a honest review of this project and was offered a discount to remove the review. We'll the review is back up due to we cannot get repairs made that was promised to be taken care of 2 weeks ago. We spent 50k on this project and it has been a headache the entire time. I recommend you avoid this company like the plague.UPDATE: Still no response from this company, this has been the worst experience we have ever had with any company I have dealt with. Our experience was not the best with this company. Jacob & the crew were very nice and that makes this hard for me to post. That being said, we would not recommend using this company without getting EVERYTHING in writing.We started talking to them in August 2022 & was told they would start our decking project in November 2022.Never heard from them so we called them & called them & called them.Finally, March 2023 they started on our project. They finished April 2023, which wasn't too bad. We felt they rushed to finish and we have issues that they won't come back to fix. Again, we called & called & called. Obviously they don't guarantee their work, as we are still'waiting' for them to come fix the issues.One major issue is a warped post that holds up the deck which my husband is trying to replace on his own as we don't have the funds to hire another contractor. Our deck is very high & that was the whole reason we hired Blue Star Construction in the first place. So very disappointed.Services: Deck installation, Deck remodeling

He was knowledgeable and efficient, personable and polite. He went above and beyond anything I would have expected. He's trustworthy and deserving of anybody's business. You can't go wrong here!

I have to agree with Chip on this one. I’m not happy at all with the communication. They are eager to get in touch with you when they are asking for money, but when you try to contact them about the status of the project, the phones go to voicemail and you don’t ever get a call back. I was told on Aug 10th that my siding was 2 weeks out. When I called last week about when I could expect them to start, Matthew said he thought they were already doing my siding. I haven’t talked to Jacob in months… his voicemail message is still saying he is unavailable until after Memorial Day! And, his voicemail is full so I can’t even leave him a message. Also, the office number is a recording, so again, no contact with an actual person. I have called Jacob a few times today and it goes straight to a full voicemail like his phone is turned off. Looks like I may need the BBB for this one. I am $20,000 paid into this project and can’t get in touch with anyone. Pretty disappointing.Service: Roof repair for storm & wind damage

I recently had the opportunity to use Blue Star Construction's services, and could not be happier with the results. After having storm damage to my aging roof, I contacted Blue Star and they had a complete new roof on in no time. Not only that, but they repaired a loose gutter and built a new handrail for my porch steps, as well. I will definitely be using them for some future projects, and highly recommend their services. We have been calling him and the office and get answering service and mail box is full. Left text messages no response. Not reliable do not hire!!!! Now we are at the beginning of calling other roofers. So 😔

very attentive at the beginning and before the project started. Once the project started couldn't get Jacob to return calls. Project was estimated to be done in around 2 weeks time and took 12 due to not having the right supplies, and lack of coordination. Doesn't return phone calls, doesn't show up, gives excuse after excuse. Thought we were on a good path when the project closed; however, we have had an issue and need it fixed and he didn't respond to us for awhile then said he would be out the next week. That has been well over a month ago and now won't return any calls. DO NOT let him fool you and give you the same excuses he gave us when we asked about previous issues that were reported like this.

I will leave my post as is until the job is done, and after all of this the job is still not finished and he will not take my calls he sends it to a mailbox that is always full, or even call me back, he had a contract with me to do a specific job and they did not fulfill that obligation, I would not use this company . Jacob even told me he knew it wasn’t done right and he would fix it, well a year later no Jacob or Blue Star or anyone, so I guess I got conned out of my money DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and to the ones that he did complete your job feel very lucky

See update below!Had their "guy" (they do not do the work but sub it out) build a 10 x 16 deck with stairs 50" high against a new house in clay soil. The deck is 1.5 inches out of square so the end with the stairs is angled, he tried to crutch the stairs to fit and they are off at another angle while the stringers were not measured and cut properly leaving no nosing on the steps. Balusters nailed to 2x4s and the nails missed the 2x4 on many. 5K for a deck that won't last two years and needs to be rebuilt today, I should sue but I just want them to go away. Beware, the people you talk to have no control over the work or the quality of what is done it is just a broker for jobsFollowup: 11/06/23 I did call and they came out to promise me it would be repaired. From the current reviews you can guess what happened - NOTHING! This is a company that should be shut down they cause so many people so much pain and hardship. No care, no regard for other people, there are plenty of good people in the construction business it just takes scum like this to give the whole industry a bad reputation. What an honest fair company this is! Jacob came out and gave me an honest opinion about my current siding and a fair price to do the house over. This is a very reputable company. Jacob was not pushy for the business and I felt at ease that if we deicde to reside our house, we will be using Blue Star. Fair price compared to other companies we've contacted! Highly recommend this Blue Star.

This was the worst experience ever. I see that people have started changing their reviews once they get their money back but I won't be. They sent some kid out to quote some attic insulation. The experience was fine and we paid a deposit of $955 to get started. We were told the office lady would call and schedule the installation. Two weeks later, no one had called. I called them to cancel and get a refund and was told I'd have it in about a week. A week came and went. I called the kid back, I think Tristan? And he basically told me that they didn't have the money. They used our deposit to buy materials for other projects and once they finished those, they could refund us. We let another week go and filed a claim with our credit card company. They refunded us and we never heard from Blue Star or who ever they were. They charge said Kirkland Tucker, whoever that is. This place is a scam. I should have known better than to put money down. If a company can't cover materials for a job without up front payment, DON'T USE THEM!

Beware of this company!!! Where to begin... My troubles with this company and its owner started a year ago. Jacob Wilson owner of Blue Star Contruction was contracted to build an addition and put a new roof on my house. This contract which began in July 2022 and was supposed to be finished before Christmas of 2022. Jacob Wilson requested a down pay for the addition and the roof so construction could begin. When Christmas of 2022 came, I still do not have an addition or a new roof as a matter-of-fact construction has not even started. During the latter half of 2022 multiple attempts were made to contact Jacob trying to get something done. Jacob will not answer his phone, he will not return voice messages or text messages. When I finally did get him to answer the phone, he blamed me, saying I had blocked his number. This is the same weather you call his cell phone or office phone. So now we make it to January 2023, I was promised that my project will begin and be completed by the end of February. Nope!!! Wrong!!! Around the first of March Jacob came to me DEMANDING and BEGGING for a progress payment. For a project that hasn't even begun. Jacob was mad I could hear him cussing as he hung the phone up, because I said NO!! No more money until the project gets going. Then a miracle happens!!! People start showing up to do my project. They would come hammer a nail, then not show back up for three weeks. then come back hammer another nail. so forth and so on. So now the subcontractor tells me Jacob want pay him or even communicate with him and he is done. Now I have an addition that I can't access. There are no doors, no siding. just four walls and a roof. And by the way still no roof for the house!!! So, I have fired Jacob and his so-called construction company. I have DEMANDED my down payment back for the roof over $6,000 that he refuses to give back to me. This is what kind of man he is, if you can even call him a man. I had to fire him through a text message because he wouldn't answer his phone three weeks ago. The only person that will talk to me is some women through her personal cell phone, who keeps giving me the run around. Jacob has not attempted to contact me at all. OH, I forgot Jacob, I blocked your number. Blue Star Contruction is a SCAM. Jacob Robs Pete to pay Paul. I will be reporting this company and its owner to the local, state and federal authorities!!!!!Service: Roof installation

Initially, I was impressed with Blue Star during the proposal and contract period of our project and had high hopes for the project. We contracted to build a roof over our deck and to re-stain the existing deck, and stain the addition. What was sold as a 1 week job turned into 5 months worth of delays and us having to clean up a mess. Even when we requested communications about delays, we rarely received them. Multiple times we were told someone would be by to do work or that work would be done by a certain date and it wasn’t done. Eventually, Jacob suggested and we agreed, to negotiate in the contract for a discounted amount due to the extended delays and for the mess we were left to clean up, and to be honest, I just wanted to be done dealing with Bluestar. We still have to replace a patio table, power wash the paving stones, the doghouse and surrounding concrete due to overspray of stain and replace a strand of lights that were damaged by overspray from the stain. On March 4th I paid 850.00 for materials to kirkland tucker he said he needed the money up front materials to fix my siding on the house that was a portion that I was told by someone they sent up months ago that it was a 2 hr job. Been waiting almost a year. When they after 9 months the guys that were going to fix it it was the wrong color and they going to get with me to fix it but called to get my money back and still not heard anything as of January 2023. I will say 850.00 may not seem a lot for so but it is for me. It is a shame that you cannot get honest work without people trying to take advantage of you. However I'm a firm believer you reap what you sow and your business will never prosper until you do right by people.

Blue star was a joy to work with from the beginning where they came out to give me an estimate to the finished project.They repaired a leak around my fireplace. Additionally I had them put blow in insulation in my attic. All was done professionally and everyone on both projects were courteous.I had nothing but a great experience from start to finish and would highly recommend Blue Star construction both for their high quality workmanship to a fair price for both of my projects. I was referred to Blue Star Construction by a colleague who told me that this company did good work. I sent them a message through their website and received a call the next day (today) that went to voicemail. I returned their call and was connected to their automated service but the call kept dropping after a few rings so I tried a few more times but the same thing happened - I'm not sure if their phone system was having issues or if my cell reception was poor. Either way, I waited a bit and called again periodically and couldn't get through to anyone. Right before 5PM I received a call from a Kurt (or Matt?) who sounded agitated and before I could tell him about the work I needed done he began telling me that the number of times I called was "excessive" and that if I would have left a message they would've returned my call. He also went on to say that he was in a meeting and had to leave because his phone kept going off. At that point I was immediately done with this company... this guy clearly needs to take a class on customer etiquette. I can't speak to their work, and I never will, because if this is how their sales reps speak to potential customers I refuse to give them my business. I certainly can't recommend this company to anyone I know and nor will my colleague who recommended them to me after I told him about this unfortunate experience.

Best thing about this company was their communication. Every time I called and needed to leave message cause they were busy they called me back same day and usually less than 30 mins later. Now that my new roof is completed I'm happy with the work and quality. I definitely recommend this company and in a few year's I'll be using their services again for my siding.

They grossly overcharge to compensate a kick back structure within the company so get multiple quotes. They are misrepresenting themselves as contractors and refused to provide license information. The crew they used on my property appeared high or drunk and did very poor work, they caused more damage to the property than they were hired to repair. When we brought our disapproval to the company’s attention their crew robbed our house. We have this on video. I would not recommended unsupervised work.. oh and they peep on women; we complained about that too.They used stolen supplies from our property to complete a larger job down the road; I’m not sure who they charged for the materials but we were charged 7x more than average.Hope this helps. Hire someone else.*edit.. They will also attempt to undermine your authority (noted in blue star’s response) as a homeowner, I have video of their crew robbing my home with me inside if anyone wants to see it.Services: Installation, Exterior painting, General repairs, Gutter cleaning
