I’ve had fantastic work from Weather Tamer’s. They did a metal roof, vinyl siding and doors on our old home about 3 years ago. They were quick, tidy and did wonderful work! When we purchased a new home it needed a new roof and had a little rot on some siding, therefore ; I called Weather Tamer’s again because they did such great work for us in the past. We had a leak in the roof and they patched it immediately then got us on their schedule within 8 weeks to replace the roof. We went with an asphalt roof this time. Their pricing is good and they did excellent work. They also repaired the rotten siding piece at no extra charge.

Pricing was fair and very competitive. Work was done ahead of the timeframe in the contract. Workers did a great job and cleaned everything up prior to leaving. Highly recommended.

I was quoted a fair price and there were no price increases. The job began in less than three weeks and was completed quickly. A few details were discussed and agreed upon but were not outlined in the contract. (A big mistake on my part). I was not provided photos of the progress as agreed upon. 7/16 osb was used instead of the 5/8 that was agreed upon (7/16 is minimum code for the job). I was able to catch a few major mistakes but can't confirm they were adequately corrected. Half the sheeting was already on before I saw that no baffling was being installed. I was told the 7/16 sheeting was removed without damaging it ,the baffles were installed, and the sheeting renailed. Osb is notoriously weak in this regard so i have my suspicions. I was told R-19 insulation was used but i have no proof. The roof was shingled and finished off with regular cap shingles. I pointed out that the roof needed a ridge vent to breath and a ridge vent was installed the next day. I'm not sure how an experienced roofing company uses the wrong sheeting, forgets the baffles, and then doesn't install a ridge vent? I can only assume a proper gap was left/made in the sheeting for the ridge vent because there wouldn't have been a ventalation gap for just a regular cap. (Another reason I requested pictures). The baffles they used were designed for the corner of the eves and were dual use 16" and 24" baffles. I believe they were not the correct baffles to use throughout the roof and worry about adequate ventilation as the fiberglass insulation can easily flatten out the gap on fold back section on the eve baffles. A new facia board had to be installed because the old one was rotten. It was not painted and then covered back up by the gutter. The unpainted wood will rot quickly without paint. The pre-existing leaf guards on the gutters were bent in a few places during the job and not fixed even after I pointed the out damaged spots. I was told two of my rafters had to be cut and patched because of rot but have no idea if they were or if it was done correctly. (Again a picture would have helped). Overall, I felt like I needed to be present the whole time to make sure the job was done correctly. When I wasn't there the wrong sheeting was used, the baffles were left out, the facia board was not painted, the ridge vent was left off, structural changes were made (possibly incorrectly), and I am left feeling like I have a substandard roof. I would love to selectively dismantle the roof in places to make sure those mistakes were properly corrected but it's nearly impossible to do that without ruining the roof.

I’m sad to see that Weather Tamers is closed. They took great care of us after the tornadoes came through the Tri-Cities in 2010 or 2011. Mike and James were very friendly and treated us like family. They replaced storm damaged windows and vinyl siding on our house. They did a great job and were very professional! They were very dependable.

I have called Weather Tamer on about five different occasions to get a quote on our siding and windows. It has been a year since they came out the first time for the siding, and about 8 months since they came out and took measurements for the windows. And still no quote. Every time I call I never receive a call back. I understand being busy, but at least a call back saying "We are overbooked, find another company" would be nice.

Weather Tamers replaced my windows and installed vinyl siding on my 1930s home which transformed the outside to a beautiful and maintained home. The work was flawless and the worker, I wish that I had kept his name, was professional, hard working and respectful of my home. The work was completed in a timely manner. I will be contacting Weather Tamers for a carport after my first experience. Family owned and trustworthy. Thank you!

Am very dissatisfied with this product. Was given a 5 year warranty. 4 years into warranty, needed gutters cleaned, called for 2 estimates to clean and was told the gutters couldn’t be cleaned because the roof was cut to close to the gutter. Call weather tamer asking how I was supposed to get my gutters cleaned, was told it wasn’t their problem but mine. This was within my 5 year warranty time.Recently called another company to have gutter guards installed and was told the roof needed to be cut back to install them, when the roof was installed no room was left to clean the gutters. Was told that the roof installers should have left room to clean out gutters. The gutter guard folks called and was told I was out of my warranty. Am extremely upset because I called within my warranty time with the problem but told verbally it was my problem. Spoke to representative today and they did not believe me. This is very shoddy service, I had no reason to lie about this. The gutters have been a problem since roof installed. Why would any roofer leave no room to clean the gutters? They installed the gutters and the roof. I do not recommend this company. Dissatisfied in Asheville.

I got a new roof almost 2 years ago. I am happy enough with it, but there have been some problems. They have been out 3 times to fix the 2 issues and now they are fixed. However, there is still one problem and we have made numerous calls. We are always told that they will come out and repair it....months go by and we call again...andeveagain...and again. I am frustrated that it takes so much effort. I also called 3 times to get a quote for gutters and never had anyone show up. When my roof is finally right I will change my star rating, but I bet if I was still holding part of my payment it would be fixed right away.July 1, 2017My roof was FINALLY repaired and I am satisfied so I am changing my rating to a 3.5. I would like to make it a 5, but because of the time waiting for a repair and the numerous calls I had to make to get someone to respond I can't. I also received a letter that says " Attached is a bill for the service work caused by the guy that worked on your chimney that caused damage to the shingles we came and replaced. We are willing to waive this charge ($400.00) if you remove the derogatory reviews from the internet like you said you would."No one worked on my chimney...it was merely painted by a man standing on a ladder, not on the roof.I am satisfied with my roof now. I have changed my star rating from a 2 to a 3.5.Aug.10, 2017Having just read the owners response I have to comment again. It was NOT paint on the shingles, it was something Weather Tamer painted on to stop a leak. It was NOT the color of the chimney, it was black goo. And a shingle had come off. I have pictures. I had changed my rating on this and said I was satisfied now. I'm not sure why every customer's less than perfect review gets a negative response.

Being first time homebuyers, my finance and I purchased a home that we knew needed some initial repairs, however we were not expecting to incur the cost of replacing the roof. I wanted to thank the crew at Weather Tamer for turning a stressful situation into a beautiful remodel. They handled everything from the financing to the finished product. The work was quality and done in a timely fashion, which is a blessing this time of year when the elements are coming inside. I had weather tamer replace my roof, windows, siding, soffets and gutters in 2007. I can't say enough good about the quality of workmanship and product I received. My roof looks great. The windows are great but the siding is awesome. It has never warped , chipped, or faded since it was installed. I have it pressure washed every year and it still looks new. Use Weather Tamer. They are not cheap but you get the quality you are paying for! Best desicion I made!

Horrible horrible service, called them for an estimate and it took them for me to call two more times so they can come. They lied to my home insurance and got extra money for repairs they didn’t even do. After 5 years of my house being roofer, now they’re saying they don’t even have my record on file! Straight ridiculous, having to have my insurance company call them directly.And after they took a good month finishing my roof, I still ended up having a leak. Either way, they get their money’s worth from insurance company. I would NEVER recommend “Weather Tamer Home Improvement” and with each negative response they get; they always have something smart to say back as if they’re not wrong.

The roofers doing the work ran out of underlining and started putting shingles without the paid for underlining on until I got home and caught them doing this. I also observed a section of plywood that had damage and was shingled over. My original roof was 25 yrs old and no leaks. After Weather Tamers my skylight leaked and some ridge cap came off. It took almost a month to get them back. I normally don't do reviews but the crew that worked on my house was terrible. I'm still having problems with my roof 4 yrs later.

Three months ago I had Weather Tamer put a metal roof on my Doublewide home . After getting several bids, I chose them basically because 1) they had the lowest price and 2) were the least pushy. They arrived on the day of the replacement on time and went straight to work. They were extemely professional and treated my little home on the mountain with great respect. They completed the job in 1/2 day and they took extreme effort to make sure every little scrap was removed and all traces of the job gone. Well my roof is beautiful and I am beyond happy with it. The best thing is my power bills have reduced drastically since the installation. My bills are 15% lower than any other year, and that afternoon heating up is almost not noticable. If you are considering a new roof, not only should you consider going metal but the ONLY company you should use is Weather Tamer Home Improvements where Mike and his crew treat your house like it was thier home.

Paid cash for new metal roof, gutters and down spout in April 2017 roof is great gutters are not right water spills over the sides on front of house and the end caps leak (No clogs I keep them clean) ive called several times to get the repairs done they schedule for there guys as they call them to come out onna certain day and time and they never show up. The day they came out to install the roof and gutters they were an hour late. My new gutters are not much different than the old ones. $8900 for this job and can't get them to come back out for repairs!! Would not hire them again!! I would do the job myself from now on!!

I called to find out their general charge for siding and to my surprise, the female person on the phone had no clue how much her business is charging. And this is a critical step in avoiding overcharges later. Very suspicious as no contractor has a secretary that goofy so that she does not know her price list on which her income depends. Be aware !!!

We had weather tamer put our siding on less than 5 years ago and made sure to get the life-time warranty coverage, including parts and labor. We have a piece that needs to be re-attached. When I called, they informed me that it would be a $50.00 travel fee from Johnson City to Bluff City. It has never cost me $50.00 to go from Johnson City to Bluff City, even taking the longest way around. I do not mind paying the gas bill to and from Johnson City to Bluff City, but it isn't $50.00.

Our siding looks awesome. The crew picked up every scrap and cleaned up beyond what they should of. They stayed in contact wity me through the whole project and was more affordable than most in this area. Even made sure I knew if I ever had any issues to call them and they would be right out to fix. Now that's customer service. Will use again if needed!
