Darrell Dunn, and his crew are absolutely amazing! We had a serious septic explosion 3 weeks after we bought our home here in Johnson City. We could not get ANYONE out to even give us a quote. I contacted Darrell on a Friday night, basically in tears, and ge showed up at my door Saturday morning! The guys were able to completely rebuild my bathroom in less than 3 weeks! They worked with me, and we created together some beautiful accent tile work, I am SO happy I found ya'll. They are coming back to overhaul my entire basement next week, and they will be the ONLY company we use here moving forward! Mike, and David took there time, and made sure everything was super safe, and beautiful for my husband and I. Thank you MR. Fix it!

Darrell and his team had our deck tore out and rebuilt in 2.5 days! They checked in with me throughout the process to make sure they built it exactly how I wanted. They tidied up the jobsite and made sure I was happy before they left. I wish I had taken a before picture to show what an improvement they made. I had all of my flooring replaced and my kitchen completely torn out and remodeled. Darrell (the owner) first came by and discussed what we wanted to do. We knew what we wanted but was still unsure of colors. He brought samples for us to look at and told us if we didn’t like them he would bring more. We decided on colors and within 2 days we had a price and contract done. Once we got the materials in his awesome crew went to work. His crew is some of the best and hardest working guys I have ever seen!!! They are really nice, professional, and just all around good guys!! Everyday they were here at 700-730 ready to go. One thing I really liked was they were cleaned up and done around 330-430 everyday so I could go and get some stuff done in the evening instead of waiting on them to finish. The kitchen isn’t 100% done yet ( waiting on the countertops) but everything they have done so far is outstanding and has made me enjoy my house more now. Posted some before and in progress pictures and will add the finished one once it is done. Mr. Dunn and his crew contracted to build a 16X42’ covered, screened in deck for our house. Working with Daryl, Jamie and Richard was a pleasure. They built the deck I described and the craftsmanship was impeccable. They were here working every day the weather was good and completed the project in a little over a month. My husband and I like to entertain and now have the perfect outdoor venue. We had a tile shower installed 3 years ago by Darrell (Mr Fix It). We discovered back in January that it was leaking behind the wall. We called Darrell and he sent Mike out to re-grout it. Still leaked. Darrell will not answer my calls now. We have had a bathroom fitter and a plumber out since to look at it and they tell us it was improperly installed. Mr Fix It will not return my calls and we are going to have to have the whole shower re-installed. Such a shame after all the business we have given him. He did our guest bath about a year ago and did some deck work. I will never understand why he will not call me back and fix his problem. I would never recommend him to anyone.

So Darrell and his crew just finished tearing out my old deck and installing a multi step multi level deck with a roof and i could not be happier. From inception to completion he gave advice and answered our questions promptly. The crew was there around 0730 and left by 1500, 1530 at the latest which allowed me to have a clear place to park. If you knew the parking and yard situation, you would understand how important this was. The little things the guys did, such as beveling the edges of the railing really showed their pride in their work. I am proud to have people see the deck and it will be good to entertain on. We had a large screened in deck built. Overall, the deck is very nice. It did take almost 6 months to complete though, we’d never know when they were coming. We had to pay to fix a mistake they made that wasn’t up to code. Sometimes they missed attention to details and the owner was sometimes short with us. They left a small hole in the side of our house and never responded when I reached out about it.Service: Deck construction

I have known Darrell for many years and already knew the quality of his work. About five years ago I had him reroof our current home and it has held up beautifully well. This summer it was time to have our deck replaced and he tore out the old deck and installed a new deck over 1200 square feet and had a screened in porch added as well. So since we had invested in a new deck we went ahead and had him restain the entire house, paint the windows and doors, and had him replace new gutters and exterior lights. Defiantly a one stop shop. Yes I am a licensed contractor as well but I just did not have the time to devote and Darrell and his crew took care of everything like it was thier own home. I would not recommend this company, due to Mr. Dunn using cheap or defective materials, not getting the requested sinks, mirrors, etc and not being concerned about poor craftsmanship. He doesn’t offer an itemized invoice and we had to go purchase many of the materials ourselves because he didn’t want to shop at the store that had the style/color that we wanted.Service: Bathroom remodeling

Darrell and his crew did an amazing job. We just purchased our new home in December and wanted to make a few changes around the house, mainly adding a new deck so we can take in our new view. Here is a list of what all his crew completed for us and it is amazing.1.) New Deck (connected to our existing front porch)-Amazing work, looks great, super sturdy. I don't see this thing having any problems in the future at all.2.) Removed a window in our main bedroom and replaced it with a door to walk onto the new deck.-Once again, looks absolutely amazing and you can't tell this door wasn't there to begin with.3.) Replaced the kitchen sink and faucet.-Super job here, looks great, no leaks, works great.4.) Added a new outlet in one of my walk in closets.-I'm placing all of my networking stuff here and needed a power outlet here so I didn't have to use an extension cord. I usually don't write reviews, but I feel that my experience with this company should be shared. I was referred to Darrell by a mutual friend. I needed a new roof and inside ceiling repair. I thought...why not just remodel a few more areas in my house while I was at it!! When he came to talk to me, I thought I had an idea of the changes I wanted made. But then, he made some suggestions I never even thought of, and they were perfect. I now have a screened-in porch/deck, an outer deck, a larger, more modern bathroom, a beautiful roof, and a new look inside. I live in a older house and there were some unexpected problems along the way, but they went the extra mile and took care of them all. Not only was I pleased with the work, but the workers as well. The best part of it all is how much my grandchildren love my house now. There's nothing better than to see them enjoying it as much as I am. Mr. Dunn and his wonderful crew of workman have done 3 major projects for us over the last two years. Two full remodels of master and second bath last year. Their work and care were both outstanding and we love our new bathrooms. They just finished a full gut job of our kitchen and oh my goodness what a transformation. Again the crew was great and worked effectively and amazed at how clean it was after each day of work. The only issues we have is that they have done such an amazing job we now want them to do several more projects for us. Kudos to the Mr. Fix It team for making our home look so wonderful!! My old deck was worn and falling apart. Darrell and his crew came and removed the old one and built us a new deck that's 3/4 covered with a screened in room and we couldn't be happier. His crew was professional and arrived on time every day through out the build. It was a pleasure getting to know them during their time on the build. The job Mr. Darrell Dunn and crew did was outstanding!!! To see my "before" and "after" was beyond remarkable...the old deck was removed and hauled-off and then the work started towards building my new front deck. Mr. Dunn made some nice suggestions and we agreed. The crew was one that cared and was very conscientious. This deck is not only well-crafted as far as "looks" are concerned, but it is so "sturdy" and well put together. My old deck was 33-years old and was an eyesore; it was also not safe as far as walking on it. NOW...could not ask for more. Horrible and unpleasant experience! Not sure, where my previous review went. But I posted before and it is not here anymore. The owner is a plain bully and does not stick to verbal or written agreements/estimates. Was promised a door and later told by an employee (!) , sorry not able to install door. Was under impression we would get a shower door...no shower door either( again an employee).The tile that I picked out was all the sudden only available in VA. Telling us that the price would go up. Lucky me, I researched and the tile was right here in Kingsport. When you ask around here in Kingsport you will come across other businesses that don't have good things to say about this guy. He will trick you and not stick to his word! Don't hire this company! Can not believe that he is still in business!
