Bill, Carlos, Will and all crews from Blass Construction worked seamlessly to build our custom back porch and outdoor kitchen. Bill was in constant communication keeping us up to date on who would be showing up to work and what to expect next. We have enjoyed our completed addition for more than a year now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the quality of their work. They are our first call anytime we have a new project. We recommend Blass Construction with no hesitation.

I am being very generous with 3 Stars. The winter storm left some of my gutters and soffit on the ground and some hanging off my house. Blass Construction came on the scene and got the open spaces to my attic sealed up until work could start. Communication was great at first. Once they contracted the work out to Brothers Gutters, everything went south. They sent 2 guys who spoke no English with no supervisor on the job. They tried to use the old 2 x 4 that had snapped under the weight of the ice, though I paid for new wood, and there were places it butted together with no support. The wood nailed up in the center was angled, yet the ends were straight. They had completely missed to the right and left of the rafter ends with nails on over half of the back of the house. One guy tried to use about a 9 inch screw and he split the wood. I contacted Blass and they made them fix it, as far as I know. Now comes the gutter crew, even worse. My rear gutter had too much fall on one side and not enough on the other. The end caps weren’t on all the way and no caulk inside at the ends. They also tried to put back my old gutter guard that was bent, even though I paid for new gutter guard. There were gaps up to 6 inches where there was no gutter guard. Keep in mind, I had to spend my time supervising their crew. They actually did a good job on the front middle section. Blass made them redo the rear gutter, but they scratched up my new fascia metal wrap and my new gutters doing it. They also scuffed up my siding. Blass told me they would make it right, until they got tired of coming back over and over because the work was not done correctly. The front right gutter was the worst. There were gaps where the gutter was away from the house and angle downward. The drip guard didn’t fit like it did everywhere else. I kept telling them something was wrong, but they said it was good. They scuffed up the fascia metal in the front and scratched my new gutter, but they did not replace it. They even went to my neighbors house once and started taking his gutter off and they argued with him when he told them it was the wrong house. They left debris and screws in my flower beds and driveway and left tools behind too. The only reason I paid the final bill is because they upgraded me to a 5 Year Warranty and pressure washed my house. While the rear siding should have been replaced, they cleaned it up enough that it’s bearable and will eventually blend in. I did not want them to touch my house again and mess something else up. They used my ladders and never put them back where they got them from. Even the guy that pressure washed left my hose laying out in the yard instead of putting it back. They certainly do not pay attention to detail or clean up their mess. They left damage to my home that was not there before. I had another gutter company come out and they are replacing the damaged fascia that had pulled away from my house on the front right side that Blass missed and he is going to touch up my scratched gutters. He is also replacing the gutter on the left that had pulled away and was angled that Blass said was ok. It is not ok. While they made an effort to make things right, the bottom line is they didn’t. They simply got tired of dealing with it and left the customer to deal with their poor work. Do not let them use Brothers Gutters if they work on your house. I can’t speak for the work an actual Blass Crew may do, but they missed things and left messes as well. I will never use them again and I do not recommend them, at least for gutters and soffits.

After 14 years of water occasionally leaking into our lower level during heavy rain storms coming from the south, we called our original construction contractor (Keener Homes) to see if he could locate the point of water intrusion. It was determined that the crew that installed our deck in 2008 had not installed "flashing" around the perimeter of our deck. Keener had switched to using Blass Construction for framing and deck installs shortly after building our home. Carlos Blas (the owner of Blass Construction) came to our home to review our options. One option was to use a sealant along the floor of the deck and under the vinyl siding. We weren't comfortable with that option because I felt the sealant would eventually break down and we'd be right back where we started with occasional leaks. We decided to have our entire deck replaced to remedy the problem and ensure a water tight deck.Carlos was great to deal with. He worked with us to satisfy every concern and detail we had with the new deck install. I'm a detailed oriented guy and I can't say enough about the professionalism of Carlos and his crew. Our new deck looks fantastic and most importantly, we no longer have any water intrusion into the lower level of our home. I highly recommend Blass Construction for the jobs they specialize in.As a side note, I must give praise to Keener Homes for their great support for this issue. Even though it was 14 years after our home was built, Kit Keener came to our home the next day after we called to evaluate the problem. Replacing the entire deck was our decision and I didn't expect Keener Homes to pay for that. But the great thing was, Keener paid for any expense related to the lack of "flashing" on the original deck installation. That's a GREAT home builder IMHO!!!Service: Deck construction

Wanted to do a great job, and did; I never felt that they were looking to cut corners to make an extra nickel. We had a roof leak around our chimney that had occurred off and on for many years. We had several different companies attempt to repair the area but the leak would eventually return. During a rainy period in February 2023 the leaking became a constant issue while we were out of town and had guests staying in our house. Blass Construction happened to be working on another house nearby and our guest walked over to see if someone could take a look at the roof.Bill Mear came by the next day and determined that the flashing on the chimney was bad and needed to be replaced all the way around along with all of the shingles in the chimney area. He could see where previous repair attempts were made but they didn’t address the flashing issue.We needed the leaking stopped ASAP and Bill said they could get to it within two weeks. I was shocked they could get a crew scheduled that quickly. Not only that, their price was so fair that we decided to replace the entire roof, which was getting old and had lost a lot of the grit off the singles.The job was completed in one day and on schedule. They cleaned up the site well and the roof looks great. So far no leaks and we’ve had some heavy rain storms since the work was completed.On top of everything else, we were out of town the entire time. Bill’s communication was great and he minimized the inconvenience for our guests. I was able to make payments electronically by clicking on a payment button right in the emailed invoice. Super convenient!We are extremely pleased with the customer service and the workmanship from Blass Comstruction and Bill Mear. Unfortunately, we are not accustomed to such responsiveness from contractors. We will be getting quotes from Blass Construction for additional projects in the future.

Was this process long, when you live in the home under construction, yes. Did we have hurdles and unexpected challenges, yes. Did Blass construction lead us through every turn, absolutely. The process included demolition, new foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, hvac, Sheetrock, finish work and landscaping. They did all of this and stayed on budget.
