If myself, a friend, or neighbor ever has to go through the process of working with a restoration company, I without hesitation recommend Rocky Top Restoration. They are people who care.I discovered a leak in the piping to my refrigerator and called Rocky Top Restoration -- I am so glad I did. Randall and Allie have been immensely helpful in navigating this entire stressful process. They took time on the weekend to assess the situation and provide advice. They quickly came up with an estimate that was competitive compared to the 2nd estimate I had received from another company for the same project. Once the process was to start, they subcontracted a company to assist in the removal of my granite counter tops without damaging them, quickly (and neatly) removed the damaged material and placed high quality drying equipment. Charles was in charge of the remediation project at my house and was professional and polite. Each day he checked in on the drying equipment and progress, which included days over the weekend.Overall, I'd rate the remediation process a 4.5. Although initially the team was extremely responsive (beyond my expectations), as the project has gone on, some of the communication has been slower or less complete. For example, I was hoping to receive an update (e.g. phone call) after the demolition phase had completed (e.g. what did they find, was anything unexpected). Instead, I had to initiate most of this communication and ask the questions to get answers on what to expect in terms of timeline and next steps. As a new home owner that also works outside the business of restoration, I had no concept of how things progress and wish I could have been told what to expect. However, with that being said- when I have had questions, Randall, Allie, and Charles have been more than willing to answer them. I have just had to learn to be more patient and understand that with water damage it is a long process. The remediation process has finished (again, very well done) and now I am waiting on the reconstruction, which understandably has a longer timeline.Again - If myself, a friend, or neighbor ever has to go through the process of working with a restoration company, I without hesitation recommend Rocky Top Restoration. A 6 month NIGHTMARE with Rocky Top Restoration (RTR)! We trusted the reviews after we had a shower leak in Sept. 2023 & went with RTR. The mitigation team did mitigation and said we would not see them again, as the construction team would be out to demo shower and do repairs. To our surprise the same mitigation team came back to demo the shower. They broke through the bathroom drywall from inside the shower on TWO sides. They broke our floor tile & did NOT mention it to us, requiring replacement of the entire floor! Again, mitigation told us they were finished and we would not be seeing them again! The tile guy (who we had to wait several weeks for, who we were assured “would be worth the wait”) came sometimes at 9am, sometimes at 10:30, would always leave for an hour+ for lunch and work an hour or sometimes a few hrs after lunch. Then we wouldn’t see him again for a couple of weeks. He was finishing with grout and once again in walks the mitigation team to demo the floor tile. The tile guy (who was very hard to get scheduled with) left mad saying he told Allie (the mgr) he could not grout a new shower with dust and tiles flying everywhere. We had to just be thankful when he did show up because our hands were tied. To give you an idea of how long this was dragging out, this was on 1/29/24. Removing baseboards the mitigation team damaged our walls with crowbars, couldn’t get the vanities out, unnecessarily cut water lines, and ultimately had to call their supervisors Randall & Jacob(the project manager who we only saw this one time) to help them remove them. Charles (mitigation)was very frustrated and expressed his feelings with extreme profanity (recorded and shared with the owner Matt Henegar) while standing in our driveway. He also stated that this is “not what we do, we don’t do countertops”. When I asked the mitigation team who would be reinstalling the vanities they said “oh it won’t be us! There is a construction crew that knows more about that than we do”! Randall (the mitigation manager)then said I’m glad those are out and “all I know is we won’t have to touch them again” (we being his mitigation team) as the construction team (who we NEVER saw) would reinstall them! As you can see with the timeline none of this work was done consistently! Allie would send the mitigation team out whenever she wanted to. We could not cut ties with RTR at that point bc they had already done so much EXTRA damage that they were going to have to repair and cover the cost. Allie was one of the rudest reps I have ever dealt with as a customer! I have endless emails back and forth with her showing this. Eventually in 3/2024 the shower was finished. Allie said she was sending the mitigation team once again to reinstall our vanities, hang door casings & floorboards. At this point I said do NOT come back! I finished it all myself! The shower appears that a 5 year old was practicing cutting and hanging tile. Uneven grout lines, jagged edged tiles, thin set showing & uneven tiles. The attached pictures of the finished shower tile speak for themselves. After 6 mos of dealing with Allie and her insults as she was adding bogus charges to the bill I decided to contact the owner Matt Henegar. When I spoke with Matt, he had seen the photos of the shower and his first response was “I’ve seen pictures from before your leak and your shower tile did not look that great before either”! He then changed his tune and said he disagreed with our frustrations but asked if we wanted him to come replace the whole shower? To which I said absolutely NOT, I will never allow RTR back in my home to cause any further damage! After going back & forth about the charges (Allie was trying to charge for work I had done myself, I have the invoice) Matt agreed to a small discount saying the shower could easily be repaired. So I sent him more photos (since nobody from RTR has been here or even called to see if we were satisfied). Matt then agreed to reduce the remaining bill by about 1/3 which I accepted just to be done with this 6 month ordeal & RTR. See tile pics!

This company has made everything so simple. One phone call and they were on the job the next day cleaning up the wet mess and taking all the necessary steps to dry it all up and remove the damaged debris. We are extremely pleased with Rocky Top’s work so far. Our house was hit by the tornado on August 7th. Once we connected with Rocky Top, they took care of storing our furniture, drying out the house from further rain damage that loose tarps had let in, and re roofing in just a matter of days. Our house has a long way to go for it’s restoration but we are confident we are in good hands with Rocky Top and our project manage Jacob Chauvin. And all the trades men that have been there have be absolute wonderful to work with.

I spoke to Randy Peterson at Rocky Top Restoration regarding some water damage and mold in my home due to faulty construction of my foundation. Everyone else I had spoken to regarding this issue from my home builder, my homeowner's insurance, and other contractors and inspection companies had passed me around from department to department, nobody taking responsibility for anything. Randy did not do that. He was the only person who took responsibility, called who he needed to call, then got back to me right away regarding a time someone from his company could come out and perform the inspection; a time, furthermore, that was both immediate and fit around my family's schedule for school, work, and medical appointments. I had a water leak from tubing connected to the fridge ice maker. Water on the kitchen floor caused a lump in the floor, and leaked down into the basement ceiling. One section of ceiling had a substantial bulge from leaking water. Project Mgr Rob McGuire was conscientious in his responsibilities, and came by twice to check his measurements on the areas needing repair. Since my situation wasn't critical for day to day living, restoration work began 3 months after the damage event. But once it began, the very qualified workers repaired the damage on the kitchen floor, put in new vinyl plank flooring; replaced portions of the basement ceiling and repainted it, and painted the walls adjacent to the ceiling with 2 coats of latex to cover a former oil based paint. All the work was completed in three days! And it really surpassed my expectations. I am especially excited about my new vinyl kitchen floor.Regarding the RTR staff: Rob McGuire was superb as the Point Man, supply orderer, and "pack horse" for deliveries. He also assisted me with some small tasks that this elderly woman needed help with. And he was absolutely the most polite employee I have ever worked with.I also enjoyed chatting with my painter Will, and we shared several conversations with oatmeal cookies in hand while he was standing on his ladder painting. He was very courteous and went the extra mile in helping on a couple of small tasks.Jay was the subcontractor who repaired my kitchen floor and laid my beautiful new vinyl floating floor. His focus and attention to detail was amazing with every piece of wood trim.Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased with the repair work done by Rocky Top Restoration. Outstanding in every way… quality work, cleanliness, punctual, excellent materials used, excellent craftsmanship, new what they were doing, treated my property like it was their own, made sure I was well pleased and in today’s age it is very hard to write sure pleasantries unless they are well deserved. All within a very reasonable budget.I had gotten numerous quotes over a span of 3 years and tried one repair man and had bad results. Received numerous too high quotes from people who were inept.But Rocky Top Restorations was referred to me by a friend and Mike Hawkins came out. He listened patiently to all the work I wanted done. He carefully examined the damages from wood rot. He agreed with my assessments and made perfect recommendations. The end results, Mike got his team of Kevin, Trevor, Mark and Stacy on the job and they took it from there. Replacing wood rot at the base of 3 large columns on the front porch and replaced wood and trim on rear deck due to water damage and reroofed.The rear damage was more excessive than originally revealed. We had a dishwasher leak that went in between original vinyl flooring and porcelain tile. We were given 3 companies, from our insurance (referrals from others). Did some background check and reviews for all and decided to call Rocky Top. Aly came out the same day to assess the issue the damage and had her crew start working ASAP. They did a great job of demolition of the damaged area and drying the subfloor. Trying to assess any further damage. She was great to work with and her crew was just as great (especially with our 4-year old granddaughter and her questions). We were very impressed with Aly and her crew. When this portion was completed, we met our project manager, Rob McGuire. He began assessing the situation and determining what was needed and also working with our insurance agent. Once the approvals were completed, work began again. Demolition of the remaining floor, cabinets and the process of putting it back together. Rob kept us informed with the schedule and answered ALL of our questions and concerns, whether they were crazy or not. (We have never been through a renovation like this before. We had LOTS of questions). We also had several special requests and Rob was great in working with us on these also. We, of course, had a few “bumps” along the way, but Aly and Rob was very accommodating and we appreciate them working with us. Rob’s crew was also an amazing group and had no issues with them My husband and I have NO reservations in referring this company to others, and we have.
