Several roof shingles were blown off in March 2023. Insurance Co determined the missing shingles could be replaced. Chris Smith performed a detailed on-roof visual inspection concluding the insurance proposed replacement shingles would not match and that any attempt to remove the existing shingles would cause further additional damage. He ordered an independent repairability analysis and comparability review. The reviews concluded shingles were neither compatible nor repairable. Chris accommodated all additional Ins Co requests; his Operations manager Alex was actively involved throughout this process. Another inspection was performed in late August. Chris accompanied the adjuster providing supporting documentation regarding repairability and compatibility. Chris’s efforts were successful. A full roof replacement was approved. A scope changes was requested to replace of a stove pipe chimney. Alex evaluated chimney options. He recommended relocating the flue closer to the roof peak and installing additional framing and bracing. Joseph (Smith Project Manager) was assigned to assist and oversee the roofing crew. Joeseph assured the work went smoothly and the area was thoroughly cleaned. Brad (Smith Senior Project Manager) provided oversight for the entire project. Several issues which arose during the chimney construction (framing, flue alignment, chimney cap fitting, seam sealing). Brad, made sure the issues were satisfactorily resolved which included many hours of his hands-on work. I am pleased beyond any expectations on their persistence, support, and quality of work performed. I would highly recommend Smith Roofing for any roofing project and exterior repairs.My thanks and gratitude go to Chris, Alex, Brad, Joseph and those back at the office who provided support throughout this project.

I had a lot of hope in this company for they have many good reviews. The person who initially helped us left the company around the time that our job took place, so it is possible that the transition simply led to miscommunication, but ultimately, my experience working with Smith Roofing & Exteriors was disappointing. On the day that they worked on my house I happened to be sick with Covid, so I was unable to meet them and see/comment on the job as it was occurring. After trying to get the company to amend/finish/fix the job according to the terms we had agreed to with the first representative (who had left), I could tell that the company was much less responsive than they were when we first started to work with them. I ultimately hired another company to get our job closer to addressing the problem that I originally hired Smith Roofing for.

The ridge vent on my house was bouncing up and down like a toddler on a spring and Chris came quickly to inspect and give an estimate followed closely by Johnathan and crew to replace the vent. They also did a great job of making the repair blend to the existing roof. They were fast, affordable, and efficient! Smith Roofing did a great job replacing the roof on my two story utility building! Davis Rhea came to give me a quote within a couple of days and was very thorough in the process and discussed everything in detail as to what I wanted completed and what would be provided by each party. We both signed off on the written agreement via cell phone. I was contacted quickly with a schedule of timing and was contacted the day before arrival of the crew by Jonathan Skiles to confirm timing etc. The crew did a great job and finished by the end of the day including cleaning up everything. I am very satisfied with the job.

We had Smith roofing replace our entire roof. We fist met Chris, who was friendly, knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the process. Once signed contract, Chris followed up and we were handed over to site manager Jonathan. Jonathan was friendly, detailed and kept us informed on every detail. He and Chris both followed up, provided their telephone numbers for direct access if you needed them. The workers, layed tarp all around perimeter of home, they worked quickly and efficiently. Our roof was finished within 2 days ! Best of all the workers did wonderful site cleanup. As far as pricing, we found them to be affordable and beat the other estimates prices we had! Very happy with our experience with Smith Roofing. Thomas and Jonathan had great communication with us during the entire process. Jonathan was even able to get our repairs started a day earlier than scheduled. When the repairs were completed, they cleaned up everything around the house leaving no trace behind them. We hired Smith’s to install new windows, siding, and gutters. Paul was our project manager and he did a great job keeping things moving. There was an issue with the installation of a custom window and the window had to be reordered but Paul made sure that we were happy with how everything looked.

We have relied on the skills of the Smith team for several projects in the past, so we knew that's who we wanted to call when we started experiencing roofing issues. Chris Smith and Chris McBride came out for the initial consultations and I learned more than I ever wanted to know about roofs :) They took the time to make sure we understood our options and we decided on the full roof replacement using Owens Corning products (with an awesome warranty). They left hundreds of nails around our house and in our attic. They also broke the glass housing off one of our outside lights when they were throwing shingles off the roof and somehow broke landscaping timbers around a garden bed. They also left a piece of sheet metal flashing on the roof that slid off the next day. The flashing is extremely sharp and rigid metal that would have killed someone if it hit them. They did replace the timbers, but the guys doing the work had very little respect for our property. Noah and Jonathan were the best to deal with.

I could not be more happy with our deck replacement. What an upgrade! Everyone that I came in contact with was wonderful start to finish. The crew did a fantastic job with excellent workmanship and I felt they took the time they needed to do the job RIGHT. What I liked best though was my communication with the project manager Kris. He really worked with me to help make good decisions all of the way along. The big difference between this experience and other contractors I have worked with is Kris kept me informed almost daily of what was happening and what I could expect that day. There was never a "Jee I wonder if they are coming by to work today" I am already speaking with them for the next project here.

We selected Smith Roofing for replacing the siding on our house. Chris McBride came out for the initial consultations and he took the time to explain the options. The project manager was Paul Slack who oversaw the work. His crew did a great job in installing the siding. They were easy to work with and very courteous. Some changes were made to include chimney repair and installation of a door, and Paul was able to reasonably accommodate that. Some finishing touches could have been better. Overall, we were pleased with the outcome. We will continue to consider them for future home projects.

The person inspecting our roof and crawling through our unfinished attic was very thorough and noticed water damage that we were unaware of. Chris Smith worked with us on the quote to find the most reasonable solution for our needs. I was impressed with the level of of communication and responsiveness to our questions. Brad Tindell, our project manager, kept us informed each step of the way and personally relocated a roof vent that could have been a problem in the future. The roofing crew were hardworking, efficient and obviously very experienced. They were careful to protect the shrubbery and did a thorough clean up. I hired Smith Roofing & Exteriors to remodel my house. The scope of the project included adding a 15X20 room on the back of the house, adding a 20X30 deck with 2 ramps, and knocking down a wall in the middle of the house to open up for a living room/dining room combo. Ground breaking took place on September 1, 2023 and was completed on November 14, 2023.I am extremely pleased with the final result. The project manager took my design and MADE IT HAPPEN, right down to the last detail. During the process, I was informed regularly on how things were going and what to expect. The communication was excellent. The workers were on site almost every day during the 10-week project and some even worked on the weekend.The project manager kept me informed of any financial adjustments that had to be made. If there had to be an increase in the quote due to and unforeseen obstacle in construction, I had the opportunity to approve it. Still, even with a slight increase in the original quote, the project manager worked diligently to keep the final costs within my budget. When I was presented with the final payment amount, it was exactly what I anticipated it would be. There were no surprised added on to the final payment.I would highly recommend Smith Roofing & Exteriors. The workers are dependable and very professional. They work quickly and do the job exceptionally well. I also appreciate that they were honest with me and treated me with respect and professionalism. He took time to show us pictures of our roof and explain exactly what was needed. He spent time ensuring that what we wanted from material to color to financing options were exactly what we wanted! We used smith not because they were not cheap but for the quality that they portrayed to us. We had thomas come out and do the quote. When doing the walk thru three different time with thomas on our insurance job we mention a chimney, cap install and an antenna removal which was just two screws to be done and we were under the understanding this was in the quote. The day before the install we were hit with a $1500 add on (+$800 for a chimney cap that retails $56 for a 12x12) And we’re talking with thomas and management. It didn’t seem like they wanted to do much to help us out with this situation. It was pretty much pay this amount and there’s no cheaper options they can give me(they already had are roof check at this point so it’s not like we could ask for a refund) l. also you would expect this to be discussed before we gave payment which was a complete shock. After speaking with bruce the General manager regarding this last min add on we agreed to at least have them at get start on the roof from which we agreed and he reply there on the way. As 1pm rolled around and still not roofer we reach out to thomas then to come to find out thomas,bruce, and Noah have failed to Communicate with each other about the scheduling and the job at hand. They then clear up it would be the next day. On the following day, they were there on time and started the roof process. No one ever made Contact with us by the time the job was complete and we never did a walk thru on that day and there “site manger never even said a word to use not even hi or I’m here to start on the roof”. After they were completed with the roof With in 2 hours after they left the job park service(being that cove lake state park touch our property line) Made contact with us regarding construction trash on TVA property. (We were informed that it doesn’t matter if it’s a bottle or a 3 yard dumpster full of trash is trash on TVA property it is considered dumping on Federal land and Not littering because it’s construction material which would subject use to a possible 1k fine and court) The installers did a very bad job when it came to site, Cleanliness. Ramen noodle lids Scattered our yard, and even seen on camera just leading blowing it into the Neighbors yard as If that’s very professional. In my opinion, the craftsmanship is So so. Was very disappointed to see that no One came for quality control regarding their product/service. When I brought the concerns to thomas, he stated he would be there And we would do a walk-through And look at the work. Thomas never showed up at the 8am when he stated he would. ( he says because the trash issues was addressed he assumed he didn’t need to come)The biggest thing I would recommend Is a better quality control system as well Structure with regards to their subcontractors and management of Subcontractors. I would assume a representative of their Site be there at all times to make sure their business Is being portrayed To the standards put on their website. The other thing is communication it seems like there’s a lot And I mean a lot of people Not communicating and or not on the same page. Though my home was just a roof, them being a contractor, I would think that they would have this Down pat being that contractors manage multiple subcontract At the same time. Being so over the situation I just want this to be over with As a business owner myself, the amount of time, and energy I’ve had to put into this is ridiculous and cost me money Being my focus is having to be on this vs my own bussiness.

We hired Smith Roofing to complete a chimney/house siding project and to make repairs to a poorly renovated and leaking sunroom. We were very pleased with the outcome. Chris was able to come up with a reasonable plan for the sunroom after numerous others could not. He ordered our supplies and got us on the schedule quickly. They showed up on time and completed the project quickly and neatly. It would have been done in less than a week but there were repairs needed due to others’ bad workmanship. Talley oversaw the work and he is one of the best professionals that we've ever had. He made the project go very smoothly. He was hardworking, detail-oriented and willing to answer many questions. When we found a small problem several weeks later, he came back out to the house and made it right. If you can have him on your project I think you’d be very happy with the end results.
