We did an emergency repair of a fiber for Steve Durham & they ghosted us after we sent them an invoice. Their main phone #s been disconnected and the cellphone #’s mailbox is full. Don’t do business with them, they’re crooks!!

Durham recently replaced my hot water heater, and I can't remember having a better experience. They were prompt, courteous, patient, knowledgeable, and took a true interest in getting the job done right. What's more, they were genuinely concerned we were without hot water, and worked their schedule to get it fixed in a timely manner. I dealt with the owner and a lady in their office (can't remember her name) and they were both awesome! I have already recommended Durham to my neighbors and will continue to do so every opportunity I have. They deserve 5 stars at the very least. Thank you, guys!

Normally, I do not write reviews, but after all the negative reviews on this company I did not want them in my home. Home Owners Warranty sent this contractor out to the house, the experience with the warranty company left a bitter taste in my mouth, but Durham was very professional and went above and beyond what they were required to do!Apparently, I did not select the right reason for requesting the work order (because none of the reasons on the website correctly matched my experience, and warranty company did not read the notes). The contractor showed up thinking I had a toilet that would not flush. At first they said there was nothing they could do to help me since I did not have a clogged toilet. The contractor was cool under pressure and handled my frustration well while I got the warranty company on the phone. He fixed 2 slow draining sinks and diagnosed the problem with the toilet even though it was not on his work order. Warranty company created a new work order to resolve the problem and I had to be put on the schedule for the issue to be resolved. They made a second trip out to the house and again went above and beyond to be sure I was taken care of. I would definitely recommend the company!

This is complaint for Durham Contractors as well as my home warranty company or whomever failed to communicate the procedure between those two.My home warranty sent a technician to fix water leak. They could not identify/locate the leak. Then they asked if they could make a hole to identify the leak. Probably my fault here is to assume they will patch the wall once they are done. They, again, could not find the leak. Then they tried to leave without patch the hole. When I complained about not patching, they insured me that my home warranty company will send another people to patch and there will not be additional service call charge. 4 days later, I did not hear anything from neither home warranty nor Durham Contractor.

Submitted a claim and had them come out to do service for a hot water heater through CHW where they needed to replace the water heater. After three weeks of not having hot water and their inability to respond via email, text or phone directly with me and through Choice Home Warranty (phone number does not work on their website). I have had to go back through the warranty company to get this re-assigned and go through the entire process again. This was also after I paid Durham $65 to come out. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else. They don't deserve your business. After rescheduling with another contractor it was replaced within 3 days.

Do not use Durham Contractors, LLC, for your plumbing needs. They are absolutely horrible. Our home warranty sent them to us. We were charged $65. The tech did absolutely nothing, they didn’t use leak detection, they issued no paperwork. We called Michelle (she answers their phones) and she was so rude, she hung up on my husband when he asked her why was the tech here if he could do nothing and not even use leak detection. My husband said I’ll cancel our credit card payment, you are not going to charge me for absolutely nothing, not even a diagnostic report.” I was so furious I told the tech he better look for another company to work for because word needs to get out that Durham Contractors just takes money and does nothing. They need to be out of business. Read their reviews, there overall terrible.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I don't know if they just don't like doing warranty work or something, but they were happy to come out and take $75 to poke around, not find a leak, and said they'd come back for another test. Said they needed approval from the warranty company to continue and then totally ghost me for a week. While water continued to seep up through the floor and spread throughout my dining and kitchen to a new room causing further damage. I called every morning and afternoon. Left messages in the am about how the warranty company had pre-approved up to $500 worth of work. Called each afternoon and got "mailbox full" recordings. Obviously they were getting my messages each day. I feel like they are scamming warranty calls and making a quick few dollars for the inspection. Reporting to the Better Business Bureau next.Service: Repair water fixtures

I usually don’t put reviews but this experience forced me to write. This company has no professionalism towards the customers. I got them to fix my dishwasher through landmark home warranty company. After 17 days I am still waiting for the fix. The most irritating parts is: No show of the technician after the scheduled appointment. no communication about anything at all. You have to call to find out what happened and reschedule which also they don’t do at that time and told that they will call back but no call back at all. It has been a very frustrating experience so far.Strongly not recommend this company to anyone.

End of last year, I had Durham come out on behalf of my home warranty company. I had a leak on the kitchen faucet underneath. Nothing else was wrong. The first set of guys who showed up, who still are with the company currently, couldn't fix the leak without getting a part, but in moving and unscrewing the faucet the tools damaged the faucet to a truly unrepairable state. I asked "why did you do that" you don't have to damage the faucet to remove it. Well, it is what it is. I knew my warranty company would not allow this faucet to be replaced, but the first guys said, don't worry, it's gonna get replaced. Landmark did not approve the faucet replacement. A fix, sure, but not to replace it. The manager Michelle, she deserves the five stars here. She sent a 2nd and DIFFERENT crew, that had more years experience, Lester and Osmany who I recommend come out, she had them buy a new upgraded even, faucet and replaced it, I'm sure, at their cost. The 2nd crew did a great job replacing, stopping all the leaks, replacing the garbage disposal too! I now have had a 2nd issue with a toilet in 2020, they fixed it quickly, and I specifically asked for crew #2! Thank you for fixing the first issue and doing a great job round 2. I appreciate the excellent customer service. But, with landmark warranty.... know they won't approve the "entire purchase" be aware with your own warranty company's.

I had a plumbing issue with the pipe under my toilet. Another plumbing company said they would have to break concrete and it would take 2-3 days. Durham plumbers came out, did the job in about 2 hours without breaking the concrete. They were very professional in diagnosing the issue and worked expeditiously to get the issue resolved. Awesome service!!!

My former home warranty company sent this company out when I was having trouble with my water heater (it kept tripping the breaker). They came at the very last minute of the several hour long window they gave me. They were there 30 minutes and couldn't find the water shut off (it was right on the other side of our fence where I suggested they look but didn't), so they couldn't actually properly inspect the water heater. Despite that, they somehow decided that the problem was sediment buildup. How convenient that wasn't something our warranty covered. They had the nerve to still charge the sevice fee despite doing nothing and literally just making up a diagnosis. After checking out the water heater myself later, I found there was actually very little sediment at all. Which they would have realized had they actually inspected the water heater. Refund, please. I missed a day's pay for nothing.Services: Repair water fixtures, General repairs

Through my Home warranty company, the First American Home warranty, I recently needed repairs to my home range/stove.After 2 appliance repair companies and a combined total of 4 trips between the 2 companies, finally, Durham Contractor, LLC was called upon to find a way to repair my stove. Two gentlemen from Durham fixed the stove in about 20 or 30 minutes. They were very courteous, knowledgeable and professional.I highly recommend the Durham company for any appliance repairs and any other types of work that they perform; and I am pleased to give them a five-star rating.

I was having issues with my home warranty company with sending non-reputable vendors and not responding. This is not the case with Durham Contractors LLC in Arlington Texas.I worked with Pam, Jovan, Romero, and Drew. All are very professional.Durham did a great job with my hot water heater replacement and took the time to explain to me the installation and features. Thanks Durham for getting my hot water on after 8 days of stress with my home warranty company. If you see this company on your warranty call, ask for another company DO NOT USE THEM. Extremely unprofessional!!!I had 3 kids with me and ask them to precall me before coming and when they arrive. Also I call me when they receive my message. The front office NEVER answered my many phone calls.Never heard an answer from them until they were at my front door. Window of appointment 11am to 3pm. They arrived around 3:10pm.The man came in and never provided a name. I was so distracted by my kids I never got a chance. Showed him the leak. He asked for me to go up stairs to flush the toilet. Did as I was told.Came down and he asked if he can put a hole in the celling to look at the leak better.I told him he needs approval from my warranty company. He said he will need to write a report then come back. I called the insurance earlier that day and they told me the company can call and get the approval while out on the call. I told him this information and he said that is not right and haven’t heard of this.He said he would need to talk to the front office to see about it and will be right back.A few minutes later I looked outside the window to see if he was coming back in and he was GONE.I will also be filling a report with the BBB when I have a chance.

Lester is my hero. I had already had 3 other contractors in trying to figure out my water issue. One had me replace the water heater. One replaced a cartridge in the shower handle. One did nothing but shake his head. Finally Lester figured out that the lines to the water heater were reversed and fixing that gave me adequate hot water again. I appreciate that he was perplexed but didn't give up until he figured it out. After dealing with 4 companies for this one issue, I will definitely go back to Durham Contractors in the future if I have any plumbing issues.

Durham construction came to look at a broken microwave and charged $750 to our credit card instead of $75. It has been a month now, and they still have not refunded our money. They do not even call us back to let us know where we are in the process of getting the $675 refund. We have had to call them multiple times and have left many unanswered messages. I have been told they are very busy and don't have time and that they would not rewrite the check which they say was sent and is stuck somewhere in the postal system. I think they would have time and expect me to find a quick solution if I owed them $675.

They were assigned to fix our fridge by Landmark Home Warranty and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone all week. Finally on Thursday I got through and the gal who answered said she was "sorry" she forgot to check their messages and someone would call me right back.. They haven't done so - Mailbox is Full as of today. Have not replied to email either.

Save your money and find another plumber. This comapany is who our home warranty company chose to do some work at our house. They showed up on day one and said they found the issue, the drain and overflow needed to be replaced in our bath tub, but would have to cut a hole through our wall to access the plumbing in the bathroom. (The crawl space access is 10 ft from the plumbing issue) I was told that their smallest plumber could not fit in our crawl space. I assured them that all of the plumbing issues have been previously assessed through the crawl space. They showed up 3 days later to start the job, and “found another issue.” This new issue could ONLY be fixed from under the house, however, they couldn’t fit, so they told me it would take 7-10 hours to DIG a hole so their plumbers could fit. $3200 to dig a hole before any work was done!I decided to get a second opinion. I called a new plumber outside of our HW. He came out, looked around, and said there was absolutely no reason to replace the drain and overflow. That was Durham’s way of charging the HW out the rear for 7 hours of work for a 10 minute job that didn’t need to be done in the first place. He also said that he could replace all of the lead pipes in the bathroom (where the issue was) from the crawl space —no digging a hole needed (he also added that the plumbers who told me they needed to dig for 7-10 hours must be fat and lazy—his words, not mine!!) the job was completed in a few hours the next day for a fraction of the cost Durham was going to charge me to dig a hole so their guy could fit!Don’t use Durham! They will charge you for work that doesn’t need to be done!

Our water heater stopped working the other day so we called a couple different companies for quotes. Durham Contractors turned out to be the best deal in the area so we gave them a shot. They were very ounctual and had everything taken care of in no time at all. The gentleman Drew was very kind and answered all of our questions for him, even gave us some pointers and things to watch out for. I wouls highly recommens them, ask for Drew or oscar if you do.

I used this company for the first time and was so very impressed with their service and repairs thru Home Warranty that I used them to remodel my master bathroom, repaint my dining room, and remodel my kitchen. I am so pleased with their dedication to customer service and quality of work. I have referred my friends...family...co workers. They are a '''real" company with heart! The office staff are amazing...the technicians honest...the owner is one-of-a-kind and a true blessing to know. Try them ! You won't be disappointed 😁

I WISH I'd thought to check up on this company before excepting their order from AHS. I called my warranty company because everytime we used hot water, the house made a vry loud moaning. We comoarednit to the horn blown by cruise ships when leaving out to sea. Home Shikd sent this company. I explained again what was going on. They turned on my hot water and of course no noise but it took my water forever to heat up. The tech told me that the noise was because of sediment build up and that my hot water heater needed to be replaced. This was in January, AHS approved it and said that Durham informed them that there were upgrades that would need to be made to the unit per my city's guidelines that would cost me 420 out of pocket. That was fine, I just wanted the noise to stop. I was they would be out the following Tuesday (it was Thursday) I said that would be gone as well. I NEVER heard back from them. I eventually started calling to find out why I'd not heard anything. I finally got in touch with the company and was told they were waiting on the paperwork from home shield, I told the man I would call them and find out the hold up. He tgen told me that they had the paperwork and was processing it. He told me I would be hearing from them in the next couple of weeks. Again I wait. Here it us March and I've heard nothing, so I call back. A young lady, Pam, tells me that the guy who answers the phone doesn't know what he is talking about and that she wall have to gave a conversation with him. She then goes on to tell me that AHS said I did a cashout, meaning I found someone else to do it cheaper. First, I didn't know you could even do that. Second, when I asked the homeshield rep about it, I was kead to believe it was a lie. March 11 they finally cone out and replace the water heater that was causing so much noise. March 13 the noise is still here. I tried calling for 2 days and the phone appeared to be out of service, so I sent them an email and called Home Shield. They say they fixed the problem and replaced the water heater so their job is done. I told home shield they need to do something because they did not FIX the problem because it's still making that noise when the water heater heats water or hot water is in use. These people either dont know what they are doing and misdiagnosed the problem, or know exactly what they are doing and had me replace a water heater that didnt need to be replaced... I think it's the later

Customer was pleased with their quality of work and we are happy to have a company we can refer customers to for plumbing needs.

Updated Review!Pam from Durham called me this morning. They had submitted the report to First American Home Warranty on the 28th (7/28/2020)FAHW was relaying that Durham had not provided the report and that employees (who per Pam do not work for the company) had hung up on them.I will be reaching out to FAHM to try and get them to review. Thank you for being so helpful Pam and Durham Contractor!!!!!!Look forward to continuing to work with this company!

We were quoted 1060$ and an EXTREME fix for a very simple problem. We called another plumber who fixed the problem in a more reasonable, simple way for $227. Durham Contractors either need to hire a skilled Master Plumber who knows what to do the best way (rather than the most expensive way) or they are blantly trying to rip people off. They also didn’t give any other option. Steer clear of them.

Don’t use this company. I had them come out to look at my oven because the latch was broken. They charged me a service fee then said we have to order a part and come back out. It’s been over 3 weeks of me calling and leaving messages. No one ever answers the phone. I simply need to know if the part is in and when they can come to fix it. Don’t waste your time with them.

These are the most unprofessional customer service.. The dispatchers (first impression) are incredibly rude. They hung up on me twice, third time place me on hold and never came back to the phone. All this while I attempted to schedule an appointment for a tech to come out. Then they reported to American Shield that they were "Unable to reach me". Thank God there are other options out there!

Completely unprofessional, we waited over a month for them to call us back saying they cancelled our claim. Did not even try to help us with this issue at all. Every time we called the lady that schedules contractors was “on lunch” and she never called back. Do not was your time here.
