Mr. Kent Thompson appeared to run a credible business and on 6/29/2013 I signed a contract and provided 30% ($14214.90) at the signing of the agreement. I was told that construction would start in 30 days. After about 6 weeks, he quit responding to calls, texts or emails. Finally, in late August I visited his home. At that time, he indicated he had run into some problems and offered to refund my money but would be able to start building my barn in about 3 weeks after he finished another barn. I took a refund check just in case. Three weeks passed, I asked to see the other barn he was working on and it quickly became apparent he was not building any other barns. I deposited his check- which bounced. I contacted him multiple times and indicated that I felt like I had been taken advantage of, that he never used any of the funds for my building -but instead for his personal use, and that he needed to refund my money or offer some mutually acceptable solution to the problem. As of Sept 21,2013- nothing he has promised has come to pass and as far as I can tell, I have not been told the truth at any point in the many discussions we have had. I have repeatedly offered Mr. Kent Thompson an opportunity to offer some acceptable solution but whatever he offered, he has not honored. Unfortunately, I am now left with no resort but to file with the BBB, post this warning to other potential victims and seek legal assistance.
