I cannot recommend A1 Hill Country Remodeling. Although Mr. Ramirez was punctual in keeping appointments before the job, his attention to detail was below average. Potential customers would be wise to check work carefully both during and after completion. Do not depend on Mr. Ramirez to know or follow building codes unless told what they are before-hand. Additionally, if one pays before realizing that some small part of the work is incomplete, one should expect to be repeatedly but falsely assured that he will return to complete the work.

We hired Hector Ramirez to expand and replace part of our deck in mid-March. Hector gave us a bid promptly and began work quickly. The job took about a week. However, the final part of the project included building 2 gates on our deck. To date, 2 months after completing the job, we have not been able to get Hector to finish the job we paid him for. We’ve asked him many times to finish and he always replies politely that he’ll be over to install the gates, but he has never shown up as promised. At this point, we’d just rather have the gate portion of the job refunded. This is a very disappointing development to what may have otherwise been a positive experience. -Laura Schafer
