Place sucks to get loaded. Spent 4 hours at the 2020 location. One truck in front of me. Two hours later a forklift came and got him. Nobody in the office at the back. No one picks up the phone. Finally flagged down the forklift driver and he said they were super busy in front. About time I finally got loaded and out of there, there were only 3 dry vans in front. Paperwork almost never matches and you have to drive down the street to the other facility. At least the Ennis load is managed well. Dallas should fire their managers and start over.

Arrived on Sunday in a dry van the address on your paperwork is incorrect you need to be at 2020 singleton . The guards here at night and on the weekends have. I clue as to what or were you need to be just be prepared to get the run around! The weekend guard sent me in not realizing they do not unload on Sunday. I did find a employee that gave me the information I needed. There is a lot on the premises we’re you can park overnight. My appointment is at 8 am tomorrow so I can’t tell you how long it will take to get unloaded.also there is a Pizza Hut Mc Donald’s Dollar Tree etc etc rite down the street . A lake across the road with loads of room to exercise or walk your dog a church rite across the street if you get here early! Every trucker needs to go to church! Lol

Do not come in the night before. Was told overnight parking, but absolutely not.Could you consider posting your hours as loading hours? Lots ask me for your cut off, but I'm always early- on- time. Every time I've loaded there, I'm in and out pretty quick. Even when several trucks ahead of me.

Always had a decent experience with the GAF plant in Dallas. It's a huge operation so you need to stay positive.. Both the inbound and outbound ladies were cheerful to me. Loader operators were quick and easy with my trailer. Pulled shingles out of there to K.C. at least once a week.

If you’re delivering the appointment is just for fun. I’ve been here for hours, trucks as far as the eye can see. I’ve loaded here before and it wasn’t too bad but delivery they make you go down the street on the other side of Hamilton and wait. Bring a lawn chair and bbq, it’s going to be a party.

They set appointments for no reason just to get in is a nightmare. Terrible place to load

First and last time here. Poorly managed loading operations. More guys are standing around smoking at the front gate than getting trucks moving. Only seen 1-2 forklift operators to about 15-20 trucks. This place has a huge bottleneck and can not support the demand for the number of trucks coming in. Been to plenty of roofing facilities that have it figured out.

For flatbed truckers:Set up an appointment. If you arrive early, check in at guard house. They'll probably get you worked in early. They will assign a loader in a fork lift to you. He will stage you and load you.Drive around to exit area and tie down (must have edge protectors) your load there or in waiting area next to exit.Go back to guard house on opposite side you checked in to receive outbound BOL.On 12/21/20, entire process took 45 min from the time I rolled onto property.Great experience!@PopsMotherRoadFBRYoutube /Rumble /Parler

I picked up a load of shingles at GAF in Savanah GA Tuesday morning for a delivery at GAF Dallas this morning 12/31/2020. The bill of lading instructions are to call 24 hours in advance of arrival. I called and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone Wednesday. I informed my dispatch who in turn informed the CSR. This morning I try to check in by phone and the CB, as the bill of lading instructs. I couldn't get an answer. When checking in at the guard shack I'm asked why I was there. Not wanting to be rude and say "I don't know, I just brought 45,000 lbs of shingles in here for giggles....hears your sign" I tell them I'm delivering from the Savanah plant. Now mind you all this info is on the paperwork I gave them. Paperwork they see every truck come in with. They direct me to an off site warehouse a half mile away. Arriving there I find no one in the office trailer with the big sign saying "drivers check in here". A security guard pulls up in her personal vehicle and says they are closed. No one is here and no loads were scheduled to be delivered.I inform dispatch and call security, again, at the plant and tell them who I am and what I have. Tweedle dum goes into the standard pitch of "you have to deliver to the warehouse at 2020 Singleton" and hangs up with me trying to stop her. I call back and talk to Tweedle Dee. I inform him that I was just sent to the off site location by them and no one is there. His response "yeah, they are closed. There aren't any loaders here either". Really!! You couldn't have told me that before sending me down there?! Better yet, you couldn't answer the phone at 0710 when I tried calling ahead? Now we have nowhere in the metro plex to drop the load until Monday so I get to sit at the truck stop in south Dallas until Monday morning. That's a significant loss of miles which equals income.Welcome to trucking. And you wonder why I don't recommend this job to anyone.

This is the most disorganized, most poorly ran shipping dept I've seen in a LONG time. The people are RUDE and dont care if you take thirty minutes or 2 days here to get checked in even. I will remember this place for a really really long time. I booked this load so it's my fault this time around. I wont let it happen the second time. Screw this place. Keep your shingles. If I cant do any better I'll stay empty.

Had a load of shingles to deliver. Upon arrival at address, was informed that load goes to warehouse down the street. The person at the gate was very friendly and helpful making sure I knew where to go. It’s a little tight getting around the plant to exit back out so take your time.

I called the day before to get the correct address and when we arrived we were given a different location. Very tight yard. Youll see the damage in the yard trucks have done. 2 hours to unload.

We were detained all day, and it back-slid into our next freight pick-up. We also apparently are not entitled to detention pay due to the structuring of their system. How long do you expect drivers to wait? There are months when our entire profit margin hinges on just one delivery, and this could be catastrophic for a new company that was not capable of taking a full-day loss. We should've left after a couple hours and let the company who caused the problem, deal with the problem.

RUN don't walk! Equipment isn't safe or clean. You don't get a full 40hrs. You don't get the basic pp gear. This facility is old, honestly I don't know how its managed to stay in compliance. If you wanna keep your sanity and license, seek work elsewhere

I attended the one week GAF roofing academy, very great experience, Felix & Daniel were great instructors. For someone that has zero roofing experience this gave me entry level experience to be able to now get work with a sub contractor. Not to mention a stipend that was given just to attend this course . Thank you GAF !

Location on 2020 Singleton is the WORST to get loaded been there several time and they always take between 1 to 2 hours to get loaded. They need to get their loaded entrance straight cause other flatbed enter on the wrong side and forklifts attended to them first while others wait on the right side of the building to get loaded. ITS RIDICULOUS HOW BAD THIS PLACE IS!!!

I've been a roofing contractor since 1979 and was an installer for years before that. I've seen manufacturers that made lousy roofing and didn't care at all about the homeowner. They lie and ignore. They have no shame. But this company puts out a consistently great product and when there is a problem they never shirk responsibility.I feel more comfortable than I ever did before now that my company uses GAF almost exclusively. Plus the training and support they have given my people sets us apart from almost everybody else in the business.Thank you GAF and Jo Anderson our sales rep.Now my rep is Kenny BrockJon WrightInstalling Confidence Since 1979"

Possibly the worst place I've ever been. Park illegally in the street and good luck getting in? No check ins via phone or cb.. avoid at all costs. 1 star is very generous

I was suppose to get a rebate check for veterans using GAF roofing shingles. They never sent anything after multiple tries to get them to do so. I would recommend veterans never use GAF as they don't live up to there word.
