BEWARE! DO NOT USE AFFORDABLE ROOFING!I hired Affordable Roofing because the owner, Gary Gee, advertised being licensed, bonded and insured. He was not. He did not get a permit and left me with potential issues. He reroofed the main house and wanted the money for the everything the insurance company assessed (a garage roof and some water damage inside) but was not going to do that work. He scammed me and the insurance company. I felt bullied and threatened by him to the point I was actually afraid of him. He bullied me on the shingles, he bullied me to move fast, his texts were threatening when I called the insurance company and the city, and his texts that said I had to act fast because there is a time limit with the insurance company. The city checked and he is NOT licensed, bonded or insured. The warranty he promised is invalid. I called the insurance company and the adjuster actually called him and told him he was overpaid for the main structure by about $5000. He claims he will sue me for more and each time it’s more - $10k+ as of his last threat. I asked for a contract when I realized I was being scammed, and he first told me the insurance estimate was the contract, then wrote a note on a piece of paper. I never got a real contract with both our signatures. I am contacting the district attorney’s office and the Texas Department of Insurance.
