Jon converted my two-stall garage into a living area during the winter of 2017-2018.* A hole in the ceiling was repaired. The attic door was removed and replaced. A wall was built around that door creating a storage room which encloses about 20% of the total area.* The two opposing side walls received rockwool insulation and drywall.* Where the garage door had been a wall was built. The inner portion is 2”x4” boards, ZIP sheathing, rockwool insulation, and drywall. The outer portion is a brick ledge topped by queen-sized bricks. That wall contains three windows, an exterior door, and a storm door.* Inside, the walls and ceiling received several coats of paint. Crown molding was installed. Schluter Ditra uncoupling membrane was attached to the concrete floor followed by 18”x18” porcelain tiles set in a diamond pattern. Baseboard tiles finished it up.It has become my favorite room in the house.
