Updated: Lon Smith followed up with me and addressed all three of the issues I reported and I am very happy with the results. Because of this I’m changing my review from two to four stars. The quality of their roofing was in my view always top notch, I just had issues with the follow through this last time. I can report they fixed all the paint issues from the picture and it looks great. If you want a quality roofer, this is your company. All companies have issues it’s the follow through that matters and they made me very happy in this situation. I will use them again.Previous reviewWhile Lonn Smith does quality roofing work, the inspection, follow up and communication is not what it used to be and I’m dissatisfied with how my last three roofing jobs I did went with them. I have done multiple roofs with the company for properties I own in DFW. One of my houses they destroyed the brand new paint job on our back patio and failed to follow up on repairs. Another property they broke glass on a light fixture and after multiple promises to repair, nothing was done. I had a third property where Alan had promised to repair a roof tile for me, which was never completed. I emailed and texted many times and was made empty promises to repair the roof shingle. Do not sign any paperwork from the inspector until you are 100 percent satisfied, because once you do you can forget about any type of follow up.

Raymond Rodriquez went above and beyond from the first estimate to the finish of the job. Helped with insurance claim, supplemental claim etc.The crew was fantastic. Done in a day, clean up was great, friendly, communicated everything to be done.Inspector Jerry Warren was on top of everything and took my screens for repair since the place was by his house.Don who did the gutters was fantastic.What a great experience. When our roof needed replacing after a little over 2 years ago, Jon Parish from Lon Smith Roofing handled our situation from beginning to end. His great advice was straightforward and honest. He worked seamlessly with our insurance company and stuck with us throughout the project. The work performed was quick, efficient, and of the highest quality. The team was professional and responsive. I highly recommend both Lon Smith Roofing and specifically Jon Parish.I also have to mention that even two years later, I called for a warranty service call and Jon showed up personally to handle my issue. Top notch.

We had a great experience with Lon Smith. I chose them because my parents hired this roofing company 20 years ago. We had a damaged roof from hail storms, and we got it replaced with impact resistant shingles. Take that, Texas weather! The estimator who came to my house, Jeremy, was very easy to work with- friendly, knowledgeable and on-time. After a recent hail storm we were in need of a new roof. After much thought and consideration we decided to convert or conventional shingle roof to a stone coated steel roofing system. We contacted 3 different contractors for estimates and even though Lon Smith wasn’t the cheapest quote we decided to use them for our project based on the help and consultation we received from Raymond R. who came out and looked at our roof. We agreed upon a price for the roofing and signed a contract. Fast forward to this past week and the crew showed up promptly at 7:30 and began the tear off. Unfortunately they found an additional layer of shingles and some rotten decking but they are helping me work with the adjuster to get me compensated for the additional cost. The crew worked extremely hard on making our old house look like a new modern home. I highly recommend Lon Smith and Westlake Royal for anyone looking to convert their home to a metal shingle. They are 10/10 all around great company.

TL,DR: Lon Smith Roofing (LSR) was thorough in their inspection, assigning of contractors and quality control. I hope you have the same experience when you hire them. Also be careful to put the correct address when sending payment via USPS mail. They are on E. Waggoman St not the opposite.Lon Smith roofing came recommended to me by mymother-in-law Donna Cantu who works for the company and I don't regret the decision of hiring them to install a much needed new roof. The process was long as I wanted to have this service completed when my time and money were right. I was assigned Bart S.when I was referred in July of 2021. He guided me through the following; the preliminary process of a roof inspection, helping me select an option that was more affordable and practical then what I wanted, the selection of a roofing shingle color that would match my neighborhood, preparing approval for the Home Owners Association and how to properly starting the insurance claim. I waited a few months after our first meeting for the right time in my schedule as well as waiting for the approval of an unresponsive Home Owners Association (HOA) by the name of Wind Ridge Estates under the management of Goodwin & Co.Around October of 2021, I decided to proceed with the next step as I was not going to wait any longer for my HOA and their management company to respond. Twice was enough and so I scheduled an appointment with my insurance company claims adjuster. Their findings were exactly the same as Lon Smith Roofing and very quickly approved to pay for a new roof. Note that Bart S. was armed with pictures of damage from the roof and other evidence in case they said no. The approval process was also made simple by my insurance company and construction could begin. I was called by the LSR office to schedule an install and we decided on December of 2021. They worked around my schedule and were able to send the contractors on a day I could be home to receive materials. They were respectful about the Christmas and New Year holidays and didn't leave materials in the way of my driveway for long in case I had company.LSR instructs all of its contractors to take the time to protect and cover the areas they will be removing roofing material and nailing. They used tarps that stretched all around my home in the front, back and side yards. The contractors even took a large piece of foam cushion and covered the compressor of my air conditioner. Although the contracts LSR signs leaves LSR harmless to damage during the installation of a new roof they still take responsibility of ensuring to not deliberately damage items around my home. The precautions taken caught most of the material removed.The process took from 7AM to 4PM, an entire day of work with a large team of 6. Around 1PM half of the team left to another job, still the work was done with quality. I was greeted by a project inspector of LSR around 2PM just 2 hours before the job finished and he walked me around the property ensuring I was happy with the quality of work. I was embarrassed that I didn't pick up all of the dog poop before so while they were cleaning up I did that quickly. They also cleaned up very well by walking around the entire house with large magnets to ensure all nails were retrieved. The payment process was tricky but LSR was very understanding as I had to have my mortgage company sign the first of two insurance checks. It was a pain especially since it took months for my mortgage company to endorse my check. I did mess up after I received the check and sent it to LSR on W. Waggomon St. instead of the correct E. Waggomon St. Special thank to the Ft. Worth Post Office for helping me correct my error.My roof looks amazing especially since the old one was original to the home. First time was due to storm damage and this time was due to a product defect unrelated to Lon Smith's workmanship. Both times, we were pleasantly treated to a quick, fair and honest assessment. Both times, our project needed non-standard products or services. Both times, our project supervisor, Sam, showed integrity, attention to details, and an unwavering willingness to do whatever was needed with gratitude toward us as his customer. The entire office team behind the projects and the crews that handled the install were all skilled, helpful & hardworking, too. We highly recommend this company!

I am about have a new roof installed on my house within the coming weeks. As with my previous roof replacement years ago, I am using Lon Smith Roofing Company. I wouldn't consider using anyone else nor bothering with gathering additional estimates. Lon Smith is my roofer period. As I am awaiting a scheduling date for the job, I'm not reviewing the roofing work in this review. Instead, I am reviewing the estimator from Lon Smith, Mr. Bart Slack. I can't say enough positive things about Bart. I am an old, disabled veteran that knows essentially nothing about roofing, shingle types etc. But what I do know and was trained to in my military career is to assess or read people. So, I can quickly and easily tell when someone is being dishonest and trying to cheat me or; if they don't know what they're doing. Bart Slack is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of a roof replacement. He's friendly and very professional. But more importantly to me, he is very patient and willing to answer any question no matter how simple. And will explain something additional times if needed. He also worked with my insurance company adjusters to inspect my roof as I'm no longer physically able to get on a roof. He patiently guided me through every aspect of my roof replacement, educating along the way. I am not at sure that my insurance company would have agreed to replace the roof had I not had Bart Slack and Lon Smith on my side. Both Bart and Lon Smith are everything you'd want in a roofing contractor.

Great experience with Lon Smith roofing and with their rep. Chris Janecka. This company was great from beginning to end. They had a supervisor/inspector check the work several times during the day as the roof was being worked on. Mr Janecka was over during the day as well. They consulted with us every step of the way. The workers were careful to pick up all nails after and the inspector came and made sure that was done properly. Great care was taken of our roof and our property. Mr Janecka went far above and beyond in helping us with sending paperwork to our insurance company USAA. It was complicated and the insurance company wanted extra paperwork from the roofing company. Mr Janecka researched, retrieved and sent it to them even though he was extremely busy visiting sites and other customers. We highly recommend this company.

From first time of Chris Janecka contacting us, he was very professional and helpful in getting roof replaced. Chris worked several times (more than 4 inspections) with our Insurance adjuster to finding us an independent adjuster to fight our cause to our insurance. This whole process was over a four month process to the final of a great job the roof replacement. Chris was also a great contact to a contractor for our outdoor siding after having to replace our back door in last couple of days.

DO NOT do business with Lon Smith Roofing!!! They will say what they can to earn your business, but when they have you locked in on their contract, the quality of service and care goes down hill. We first worked with Paul Stewart, the estimator. He was very kind at first. He gave the whole speech about the company being in business for several years. He came to me with copies of the company's certificates, licenses, insurance, anything you can think of just to make Lon Smith look good. Being that he was an older man, I thought he actually cared about providing exceptional service to a family and their home. Boy I was wrong! Paul did an estimate for the hail damage on our fence along with the roofing. He told me had would send that information in to the insurance company and help us with getting that fix. PAUL WAS NOT CLEAR WITH ME THAT LON SMITH ROOFING DOES NOT POWER WASH AND RE-STAIN FENCES. Instead, he gave me a guy's number and told me to reach out to him. When I spoke to that person, he informed me that Paul told him that I filed an insurance claim, and for him to work with the dollar amount from the insurance company, and to figure something out. After speaking with that person, he did not feel comfortable to move forward. I reached out to Paul again and asked him if there was another company he would recommend me to. Paul had the audacity to google companies to send me pictures of their numbers. Had I known that Lon Smith did not provide service in that area, I would have went with another company. I know other companies would appreciate our business not like this company. Paul Stewart and Lon Smith Roofing is not transparent about business! We had our roof installation done on November 19, 2021. The inspector David Grassmann and the crew under their chief Bethany Sanchez provided no better service than Paul. The crew threw trash and debris all over my flowerbed. A large amount of nails were left in our yard. Sad to say, David is not a sincere person either. He will tell you a story about replacing a customer's roof, but you can tell that he's told that story several times to make himself sound like a good guy.16 weeks after Lon Smith Roofing installed our roof, the wooden side panel of our home has fallen out. As you can see from the picture, the wooden panel touches the roof line that was worked on our home. The same inspector David Grassmann came out to look at the damage. He made an assumption that someone removed the panel and tried to hammer it back to place. He said he can tell by the nails on the wood. That is ridiculous consider Lon Smith Roofing's crew have been the only ones on our roof!!!! David put in a work order to get that repair, including that information of someone removing and replacing that panel, and the work order got denied. Of course it would be denied!!! David lied on the work order. Nobody removed and tired to replace the panel. How can he tell me damages did not occurred from the crew, when he wasn't even up on the roof. Lon Smith Roofing needs to be held accountable for the damages. Customers should not have fear hiring a contractor, with an end result, that company ends up creating more damages. Anyone reading this review who are thinking about hiring Lon Smith Roofing.... look somewhere else! The spring storms did a number on my roof this year. A friend recommended Lon Smith roofing,and I could not be more grateful. Jeremy Nelson was the best! He was so patient and thorough throughout the entire insurance process, even going to bat for me when the insurance adjustors weren't initially receptive to a full replacement. Thanks to Jeremy I was able to get a great new roof that I love, and it was way less stressful for me because he took the time to explain everything. We recently had a water main break near our house, shooting water into the air and onto our roof. With the stones in the street it was like our own private hail storm. We chose Lon Smith to replace our roof because we'd used them twice before and found them to be honest, efficient and professional. This time it was more of the same: They replaced our roof including our detached garage in a day, and worked with our insurance company to get reimbursed for the depreciation. He was prompt and courteous. I needed a few small repairs because of a roof leak and shingles that had blown off. He came out same day I requested it. During some heavy rain in August, what turned out to be a multi-year leak in my roof caused a portion of the ceiling in a bedroom to collapse, allowing water to drip on furniture. I called as soon as I discovered it. Even though it was after regular business hours, they sent someone to patch the roof within an hour. I turned to them again to do the work prescribed by the insurance adjuster and am very pleased with the results. Everyone with whom I dealt was professional, courteous, and thorough. This was not my first experience with this company, and I will continue to call in them when needed.

I would like to thank Jeremy for his untiring attention in getting our roof installation right. He asked many questions, entertained a great many questions and tolerated some uncertainty in getting the job defined. The team that installed the roof seemed to do a great job. They were quick and did a great job cleaning up afterward. They didn't damage or otherwise deface the gutter that was NOT removed for the installation. When your neighbor recommends a service- they must be great! Indeed it was. From the time I called Lon Smith Roofing to getting my roof repaired it took no time at all. Clayton completed his inspection and provided a detailed explanation and options for our leaky roof as well as for our second floor ventilation issue. Within days we had a detailed quote, reasonable pricing, repairs, new ventilation system and piece of mind. The crew took great care and did a wonderful job. When we were researching roof replacement after a recent hail storm, MANY neighbors and our daughter recommended we check with Lon Smith Roofing.We worked with the same representative as our daughter did, who was available within days and worked up the plan and cost estimate within a few hours. He also worked with our insurance estimator to correct the estimate for items not included originally.The work crew came exactly when scheduled and completed the work within a couple hours of what was estimated, despite temperatures exceeding 104 the afternoon of the first day (when they sensibly rested).
