once again Scott and his team did excellent work on my home. they replaced all the rotted facial boards, and fixed the flashing and sealed the chimney and roof and painted and installed new copper gutters. Previous contractor was overwhelmed with the job of removing and replacing a major portion of our kitchen /dining room floor that had dry rotted, My family was living above a dirt floor on pier and beam using plywood laid down as a floor And towels stuffed in the open spaces. We recently purchased a second home in Galveston that needed updates to the back deck, front porch, and a new fence. We hired GCR for a bathroom remodel. Scott provided a very detailed estimate, with drawings, so we knew exactly what we were getting. The men on his crew were professional, efficient and nice. Scott was easy to reach, and very accommodating to any changes we requested along the way. The tile work was beautiful. We have hired several contractors (for new home construction, for remodeling, for post-Ike repairs, etc). Most of them were good, but GCR has been the best, exceeding our expectations. GCR did a complete renovation of a small house that had not been lived in for many years. Scott gave a detailed written estimate. The work and his crew of workers were beyond my expectations. GCR Builders was very professional from the first visit when Scott came out to go through the repairs needed to the siding and paint on our house. I believe that their pricing was fair and they over delivered with both communications and execution of the work that they performed. GCR is the 1st contractor we have ever hired to come into our home and will be the only one we call in the future. I hired GCR Builders to do a major renovation on my home in Seabrook, after a neighbor recommended them for post-Harvey related repairs. They were prompt, professional, and kept me in the loop throughout the duration of the job. The crew also cleaned up regularly inside and outside to minimize disruption to the neighborhood.The owner, Scott Barker, prepared a detailed room by room scope of work, which was kept onsite and followed by the crew. I received photos from him each week of the work completed and progress made. Due to the size of the job, there were a few instances where we had to change the way the work would be done. At those times, either he or his onsite supervisor were there to show me what was going on, why they had to make the change (issues inside the walls, engineer or city requirements, etc), and how they planned to best correct things. Both Scott and Eddie went out of their way to ensure even the small things were attended to for me. The quality of work GCR Builders produces is excellent, and I am happy to recommend them.

If you need to remodel and live in GCR Builders service area, use this company. We called Scott Barker, the owner, originally to re-texture the ceiling in the living, dining and kitchen of our second home in Bayou Vista. We then asked him to install new tile flooring, Silestone countertops, marble mosaic backsplash, farmhouse sink and faucet for our kitchen. I mention the materials we used because it was all very labor-intensive to install well. His group did a fabulous job. His cost estimate for the job was accurate and he completed the job in a little less than a month after we picked out the materials we wanted. With us living and working in north Texas, we needed someone like Scott who kept us well-informed (but not excessively so) even though we weren’t there during any of the work. By the time we saw the work in person, it was complete and clean and exactly what we wanted. We plan to use him again to redo our bathroom in the same house.Update: We have used GCR Builders again and again after this first post for structural repairs and painting. Like the first job, he provides quality work on time and with minimum fuss. The owner, Scott Barker, is ALWAYS responsive and dependable before, during and after each project. He provides accurate, detailed estimates that he holds to, clearing any additional work with us first. His group painted the entire outside of our bayside house, decks, stairs and all, in June-July of 2022 and the results were perfect. As before, we were not there for most of the paint job but saw the exacting work they did at the end to clean up smudges and mistakes, like around the white trims of our doors and windows and white tubing along our upstairs and stairway railings. I called Scott from GCR Builders to assist me with my “honey do” list that was getting out of hand. Scott noted the projects that I needed to get done and in very short order he sent Pete to the rescue. Pete arrived on time; he had all the supplies he needed to get the various jobs done and started to work right away. Pete was very friendly, had a great sense of humor and was a very hard worker. Pete completed all the projects that I provided Scott just as the 8 hours had ended. I was very pleased with the professional and quality service from GCR Builders. First time using them. They installed a new patio door, and a built-in microwave. The microwave project was much more involved than it sounds, as it involved lots of custom-cabinetry work, venting through the ceiling, etc.They were not cheap, but not too expensive either. Several things really impressed me, though. The owner (Scott) was very diligent and organized when it came to preparing the quote.Once the workers showed up, Scott introduced me to the lead guy on the job, walked through the job with me to review with the lead, then let them get to work. The two men working on my project were very, very considerate -- putting down construction paper everywhere, tidying up before leaving each day, etc. What really impressed me, though, was the end result. I have never seen such attention to detail with this kind of work. Count me as extremely pleased.

Scott, Clay, Brett and Brandon did a wonderful job. They were very prompt with the estimate and setting up a date. Everyone arrived on time and work got done as expected. Everyone was very professional and polite, answered all my questions and even taught me a little bit what they were doing and why, which for me was a plus.Only minor complaint that my husband had was on the clean up. There were nails and screws left in the grass and the brick and some small trash still. Not as meticulous in the clean up as we had hoped, but not a deal breaker.We've used them in the past for a bathroom remodel and building a laundry unit and they did a great job, and even are coming back to fix a minor problem with the shower. I have been throughly impressed with the communication and professionalism.We will continue to use them for any home projects we may need in the future. We will definitely refer them to any friends as well.

Scott was very considerate, listened to our needs, and was at our home almost every day to make sure the contractors were doing the work needed. The workers were conscientious and took exceptional care of our pets, even taking them outside for their walk when they indicated a need to "take care of business". The work was completed as quickly as poossible after Hurricane Harvey and I would recommend them to anyone. They are not the most expensive nor the least expensive but they are quality and when it comes time to sell my home at some point in the future, I have no doubt their workmanship will help in generating the sales price I expect.
