My husband and I worked with SmithCo for a detached patio and gabled cover. Straight from the beginning, the owner, Charles, was involved and collaborative on the design. He gave us a veteran discount for my husband's navy service, but the cost was already very reasonable. We worked with Will on the concrete base and Justin for the wooden cover build. Everyone we've met from SmithCo has been kind, informative, fast and efficient. We've already made a long list of future projects we plan to work with SmithCo on. They've made us lifelong clients. Highly recommend!

Smithco Construction does great work! The owner is Charles. We found a structural issue with our 3 story balcony. As well as, rotten support columns. He gave us a timely detailed quote and timeframe to complete the work. He also suggested replacing the “out-dated” railing on all 3 levels. Worth it! Looks great! This is huge! The workers showed up at 7 am every day. Please note… they were mannerly, respectful, and Christians.We’ve had some previous experiences with shoddy workmanship in Canyon Lake. If you want stress-free work, done right I highly recommend this company.

SmithCo installed a double door for interior doorway. It was a custom installation because the doorway was not a standard size. Took the crew less than a day to complete the work, clean up their mess, and finish the project. All done professionally and cleanly.

We needed a complete remodel of a storage room into a mother-in-law apartment for my mom and we are so glad to have contacted SmithCo. Their price for the project was very reasonable and we needed this done as soon as possible, so once we contracted with them, they were out to start the project within a few days which was awesome! From day one, we were treated with professionalism and courtesy beyond our expectations. Charles Smith and his crew are a skilled, trustworthy, and hard-working team. Justin, their foreman, kept the project running like a well-oiled machine. Along the way, we had several requests not on the original plans and Charles and Justin used their knowledge and expertise to provide us with the best course of action to accommodate our needs, with any additional costs still very reasonable. The time to completion was extremely fast. On top of all that, they were always pitching in to help outside of the scope of the project, such helping me put my mom in the car so I could take her to the hospital when she fell, replacing an electrical outlet in the main house that was sparking that could have caused a fire, and when I couldn’t make arrangements for friends or family to help move her kind-size bed and chest into the new place so my mom could start enjoying it, Charles stepped up yet again and brought his crew back by to move them for us. Wow! How much more customer friendly can you get! Christian values at its best. Finding and doing business with SmithCo was truly a blessing and with other projects on the horizon I will not hesitate to contract with them again. Very professional and hardworking team! They were prompt in time and finishing the job. They did an awesome job adding a carport and extended sidewalk to our house! They even offered some suggestions and we ask to add a few things with no issues to our carport that made it a smooth finished project! Very helpful with relocating a peach tree from job site and spreading extra gravel we had. They cleaned up after themselves. When done they took all debris, except a few things forgotten, but came back and picked it up. Thanks again Charles and team SmithCo!

I paid this company to perform numerous small jobs and they never finished. Specifically, they could not replace two exterior lights due to our Christmas lights obstructing the fixtures. Charles agreed to come back and finish the lights at a later date, and I paid him in full. At first, he seemed interested in completing the job. But after a few months of some back-and-forth, he stopped returning my texts. He never came back to complete the job. The remaining job isn't much; I figured he would keep up his end of the deal. This company did not finish the job we paid them to do. We paid for laminate flooring that was not finished. Outside trim was not painted completely. We called the owner and he ignored requests to complete the job. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.Charles Smith, here is a copy of the contract we had with your company to do remodeling work on Morningside Way. The laminate flooring you installed in the bedroom had missing pieces and the transition to the bedroom to the bathroom was not finished.The hardie trim boards were only halfway painted (see pics).The tile instillation in the guest bedroom was very poor quality, the spacing is crooked and grout was never cleaned off the tiles. (see the pic showing the poor quality and uneveness.We called you and notified you months ago of these problems, you said you'd come the next day. But you didn't come. We called several times but you never answered and never returned our calls.From the review you gave us a phone number to call. We did and left a message to call us back. You never did.

Smithco came out the same day I called about having 2 ramps built, literally within hours. He gave me a quote that was fair and affordable. The next morning his crew showed up promptly and went to work on pouring concrete and building a new wooden ramp with handrails. They were done quickly and the work was perfect. SmithCo’s crew was exceptional in all aspects of the work they performed in the remodel of our home. Each project was difficult and required a high degree of craftsmanship and inventiveness. Mark, the lead, always came through with unexpected detailed installations and finishes. Brendon and Justin were equally adept at their tasks. Kain Smith and his team went well beyond our expectations. Our contracted remodel included taking our existing bathroom to bare studs and subfloor; removing a non-load bearing wall; modification of the bathtub/shower configuration; installing all new tile on the floor and walls; new cabinet, plumbing and electrical installation. All of this as well as additional changes made during our remodel were completed within our agreed schedule and original budget. I contracted with Charles Smith, owner and president SmithCo, December 2018 for extensive external repairs to my home.The contract specifically stipulates a one year guarantee should the work performed not be adequate.SmithCo fulfilled the original contract on time.When I contacted Mr. Smith June 2019 for some work to be done under the guarantee, I received NO return phone call, NO return text, NO return email.I have been trying to reach Mr. Smith since early June, and it is now mid July.I would STRONGLY recommend you avoid this contractor as he is unreachable and unreliable.

I used Smithco for several odd jobs around the house including wall mounting a few TVs, building shelfs for TV equipment, installing some light fixtures, etc.Charles always arrived at an agreed upon time and far exceeded our expectations on every level.His prices were the same as a gentleman who was going to do the jobs "off the clock", the difference was Charles is insured and certified! I hired Smithco to install the kitchen backsplash tile above the kitchen cabinets. I've had trouble finding a reliable/dependable handyman here in Canyon Lake in the past...Smithco is my new go to handyman. They stay busy and their schedule tends to have wait time.***Response to your response:Unfortunately, I didn’t find your work to be high quality. It was average, at best. I had to rip out and replace three sets of steps you replaced for me as they weren’t up to code per the property management company. You left gaps in the flooring you installed, as well. Plus your prices were high. It’s one thing to get fast, expensive service. It’s another to have to wait on it.

I own a vacation rental property on the south side of Canyon Lake that recently needed immediate attention due to a crazy storm that came through with rain and high winds. The rain was coming in at such an angle that it was able to reach some large windows that were never properly sealed under a large overhang thus resulting in loads of water leaking into the property. SmithCo came out quickly, determined the problem was missing sealant around the large windows, and went to town clear caulking them for me. I do not live in Canyon Lake and rely on solid businesses to help me in times of need that I can trust and SmithCo did just that. I will definitely use them again!
