PSA: Ahlers Roofing does NOT honor their guarantee of workmanship and materials and has left my house with substantial roof leaks and associated water damage. As an entrepreneur myself, I hate leaving negative public reviews and prefer to handle issues privately. However, after two years of trying to get Ahlers Roofing and Danny Ahlers to resolve the roof leaks they created, this is my final recourse before filing a lawsuit.My roof was damaged during the hailstorm of April 2021. Ahlers Roofing was hired to replace the entire roof. Work was completed in February 2022 and covered by Farmers Insurance. I paid extra to have the shingles upgraded to "hailproof" Cat 4 shingles. Ahlers Roofing provided a warranty for 10-years on workmanship and 30-years on materials.Unfortunately, I found that during any significant rain, the roof over my "saloon" would leak considerably. These leaks are not just slow dripping leaks but, rather, continuous streams of water running out of the ceiling. I have attached several videos from recent storms.I contacted Danny and a crew was sent out to inspect and correct any issues. During the next storm, the roof leaked again. I contacted Danny again and another crew was sent out to inspect and fix the leaks. Again, during the next storm, the roof continued to leak. The roof has leaked ever since. Every storm is an ordeal of placing buckets and pans and towels down to catch the water pouring from the ceiling.I have contacted Danny via text, phone call, voice mail, and email and have not received any reply since. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they have been unable to get a response from Ahlers Roofing. Meanwhile, I continue to see Ahlers Roofing signs in yards near my house, doing work for new customers and ignoring my leaking roof.I had hired Danny twice previously for other houses I lived in prior to 2021. That work was done very well. I thought Danny was an upstanding business owner and was happy for him to do the work on my current roof. I sent him many referrals in the past. However, I now see that he does not stand by his work and does not honor his commitments.

Danny and Team were timely in the beginning and thorough throughout. We had quite the job after some natural disaster situations both external and internal. We fired a previous contract and brought Ahlers in - ended up being exactly what I wanted on my roof and home in the end. Further, I've been so pleased with the knowledge of the repairs but also insurance support when working through the claim - better that anyone else I had spoken to previous. Thank you, Danny and team - more work to come!

After two roofers couldn’t get the Farmers insurance to pay Ahlers went to work on it and got it done. I met Pavel in a parking lot and he said he could get my roof done and while I was having my car repaired he was on my roof that day. Work was started and decking and all was replaced correctly this time. Ahlers did more repair and fixed bad previous work. John and Pavel came out with better plans to make sure the patio would not leak. The owner has a good crew and are pure artists in making a roof better and safer than anyone I’ve used before. Roofed leaked. Refused to repair the damage or provide their insurance information. They charged me for work that was never performed. They send one set of numbers to your insurance company then add thousands to the bill. Horrible people. After you pay them they refuse to honor their warranty. Avoid. Don’t get ripped off.

We called Ahlers when we needed a roof repair a couple of years ago. John came out inspected our roof and gave us a reasonable quote. They did the repair the next day and we were very pleased with the whole process from the beginning to the end, so naturally when we needed our roof replaced, we called John. He came out and met with our insurance adjuster and got our materials ordered and got us on the schedule. When our AC went out he got us in touch with David at Ahlers Heating and Air and David took care of us on that side. This is a great company to do business with and they have great people working for them. John has taken care of us every step of the way. John Ellis and his team were amazing. He was very clear on how he would work with our insurance. We had many parts of our home damaged by a hail storm and John handled everything. He coordinated all the other companies that needed to come out and fix something. He communicated with us every step of the way. I contacted Ahlers after the April 2021hailstorm and Ken Donaghy (no longer with Ahlers) was my project manager. He insured me they would take care of all repairs and accept the insurance payment. The roof was repaired quickly and efficiently. When the insurance payment came in, he said it was too low to finish repairs and I needed to go through the appraisal process ($1500) to get more money. When the appraiser came out in July she noticed Ahlers had put in cheaper windows than the original ones and new windows had to be reordered again. When the windows arrived in October after Ken had left, again they were not the right windows; it was the installer who noticed. I am still waiting in December for the correct windows to be installed and my texts, emails and voicemails are not returned by my project manager Jesse Gonzalez or the owner. My poor (and cheap quality) roof is exposed & easily gets wind damage (but no hail yet to make it a full loss)…we’ve had it patched several times in recent years. Ahlers Roofing recently installed a new roof on my older house, they gave me a very competitive price, better than the price I got from a friend of mine who is a roofer. John went out of his way to take care of me, he was responsive, dropped off shingle samples for me and answered all the questions I had quickly. I have never once filed an insurance claim against a house and expected it to be a huge ordeal and agonizing experience. My house’s roof had been damaged by a hailstorm and needed to be replaced. In addition, the gutters needed to be replaced and the inside of my house suffered from water damage in several areas and needed rework.After contacting my insurance company to file a claim not knowing what to expect, I was provided contact information for Ken Donaghy at Ahlers. I contacted him, again not knowing what to expect.I was pleasantly surprised at how seamless and transparent Ahlers made the entire insurance claim process. It required very little effort on my part.Communication and customer service with Ahlers was excellent. I was kept in the loop about everything. Work commenced on time, every time, and was completed the same day. I was granted access to their customer portal where I could keep track of progress.They had my entire roof replaced in less than a day. I got to pick out the color of shingles I wanted. I never once even had to go outside while they were working to check up on things.Next was replacement of the gutters. Again, I had choice of color and the entire process of replacing them took maybe 3 to 4 hours. Just as with the roof, I never had to go outside for any reason.Lastly was rework of various areas inside my house that had gotten water damage as a result of my roof leaking. With all the work that needed to be done I thought for sure it would take more than a day. I was wrong. All work was completed by the end of the day. The painters did an excellent job color matching all the walls that needed to be painted as well as the ceiling. The repairs were done with such precision that you can’t even tell where the damaged areas were that got reworked. The paint and wall/ceiling textures blend perfectly with the surrounding areas that didn’t need repairs.I honestly don’t have a single complaint with Ahlers. Their workmanship and customer service is top notch. I definitely would not hesitate to use them again and would refer them to anyone needing roof work or construction.

Danny Ahlers and Ahlers Roofing and Construction have been phenomenal to work with, and we would recommend his company to anyone for any size job.Our home was hit by the Father's Day tornado this year, and it's been absolutely crazy around here for the last couple months. Danny has been an island of calm throughout it all. Ahlers roofing is the Best in the area! Not only did they get the roof replaced in a timely manner for my mother but rebuilt the whole back patio cover, which was nearly the whole back of the house, it is beautiful and construction is solid!I highly recommend this company, Dan and John were a pleasure to work with and our family will have no other :)
