I have been a pipeline mechanic for 10 years. I worked for Chapman for 11 months as a heavy Eq mechanic. They pay low. I have my own rig. They pay below average for the rig. They are very slow to get you needed specialty tools. Very much a company that if your not family or you don’t wear knee pads your not going anywhere. I had a breathing condition and had nasal surgery during thus Covid situation and could not sit through a long orientation with a mask on at the time so I was not allowed on a job. So I was laid off due to lack of work. Come to find out. They sent it in as fired due to inappropriate conduct. That’s what they said. I was told by my supervisor that he would make sure it was a lay off. Didn’t happen. I got shorted a days pay plus rig pay and per diem. And I drive 50 miles to give them all of there equip that they put on my truck back. At my expense.My rating of HL CHAPMAN IS. They do not care about people. Just numbers. Any mechanic who goes to work for this company. Watch your back.
