Any quirks, that should be expected staying in a place that was built 100 years ago, are quickly forgotten when you have breakfast and the customer service here.Customer service- excellent. I had a few dumb questions ahead of arrival. Never stayed at a B&B before. All answered with respect vs the typical attitude I'd expect from the big chain places when someone is off in left field.Rooms, excellent views with everything you would want.. unless you wanted a TV for some reason on a quiet get away. No issues with that missing.Bathtub was awesome.Breakfast - she should sell a cookbook along with the coffee cups. I really want to know how to make most of what was served over two days. I didn't eat lunch the two days we stayed. It was good a really good size portions.If we get a chance to head this way; I will stay again for sure. We'll worth the money. Also, no crazy hidden fees other than typical and mandatory hotel taxes. That was nice to book and not get flooded with weird stuff.

Just wonderful all around! We were treated like family, with all of the joy and none of the sorrow. The peace was palpable. Paula, Theresa and staff were so kind and accommodating. Their cuisine is gourmet delicious. The view is spectacular. Try a bubble bath while watching the dolphins play; it'll wash away the cares of the day. God willing, the Pelican is now included in our annual plan. Thank you, Paula and Theresa and Co. God bless.Nearby activities: Some great restaurants and shops with some really cool, caring people.

My mom and I booked a weekend getaway at the Peaceful Pelican in October. We enjoyed it immensely. We stayed in the 3rd floor room and especially enjoyed the patio on the rooftop! We had coffee up there in the morning while watching the sun rise and wine up there in the evening while watching the sun set. The breakfasts were phenomenal! I ate way more than I ought because it was so tasty. Palacios is a quiet, restful town on the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

My wife and I were visiting the area and came across this B&B. After looking at the pictures we decided it would be a great place for a quick get away. The Peaceful Pelican is full of charm and pieces from a time long gone. Our host were exceptional and we were prepared a breakfast that would be hard to buy anywhere. Before we left my wife was already planning our next visit. Location and views are outstanding. We would say if you’re in the area , do yourself a favor and book here.

What a great place. We arrived on Friday to the smell of a fire burning in the fire pit on the front patio.We stayed on the third floor, which also had access to the widow's walk via a spiral staircase.Charming place with a welcoming warm staff.Plenty of books and games to enjoy during your stay, and it wasn't until our last day there that u realized that there are no TVs!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Peaceful Pelican. Our room, the Magnolia, was clean , roomy and comfortable. We stayed two nights. The food served for both breakfasts was great. Theresa was very friendly and a good cook and hostess. Her husband was nice to talk to, also. It was a friendly and relaxing place with a great view of the Matagorda Bay.

Serenity by the Sea served with authentic hospitality and sincerity! This was probably our sixth or seventh time to stay in Palacios at The Peaceful Pelican. We have stayed in every room and we enjoy it every time, no matter what the room or season of year. The wonderful waterfront location is the best in town...the breezes from the bay while sitting on the front porch are delightful and relaxing. The breakfast is simply delicious and graciously served by the friendly innkeepers or owner. A visit to The Peaceful Pelican feels like I'm going HOME.

This place is amazing! Breakfast is not your average hotel breakfast. If your looking for more bang for your buck, this is the place. The bay is right in front with a pier. Extremely peaceful and quiet. My family stayed there for 7 days and is was nothing short of amazing. Staff is very helpful. You will love this place and the people!

Besides the well appointed and clean rooms, they always mention the friendly staff and host. They love sitting on the front porch taking in the magnificent view of the bay while soft Gulf breezes keep them company. .

This is a super cute B&B right on the ocean. This is an older home, a historical landmark even, and decorated accordingly for people who like that kind of thing. It also has modern amenities, a full tub, shower, each room had an AC unit, an adjustable sleep number bed, and a place for an artificial fire for that ambiance. Breakfast was amazing! She served fruit, Croque-Monsieurs with egg and a cinnamon pancake. Really great coffee available as well. There’s about 11 adopted cats wandering around too which we loved.There’s multiple piers in walking distance covered in seagulls and Pelicans. We even saw a dolphin when we walked to the end of one of them. The porch and rocking chairs are an excellent location by themselves for Pelican watching as well.

We booked the entire place for 4 days for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect! The 3rd floor suite was the best wedding suite I could imagine, with awesome views and the widow's walk access, awesome. We had our wedding on the front porch with the bay in the background. I literally cast my lines out and went back to the house. Peaceful as could be. Paula even let us use the kitchen and cooking utensils. We will definitely be coming back in the future!!

We just stayed at the Peaceful Pelican . The rooms look cute but the room we stayed in the floor was had some very weak spots that l was afraid l was gonna fall through at the door there was a rug that covered the hole in the floor you could see outside. Our bed was so uncomfortable we didn't sleep at all. I will never stay there again. The upstairs might have been been better but the room off the back was awful l went to set down the floor gave some the and the chair moved l hit the floor .We left at 5:30 the next morning.

We stayed for a night at the Peaceful Pelican and had a wonderful time! We enjoyed meeting the owner and the other guests both in the evening and in the morning. The room (Sunrise?) was comfortable and quiet. I loved the claw-foot tub. The view of the bay was great. Palacios is a friendly place and we enjoyed walking around. Oh! and breakfast was delicious! We'd stay there again when we're in the area.

Such a relaxing experience. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the day go by. Lots of pelicans just across the way and was able to see some dolphins one morning as well.

If you hate fun, clean rooms, and a spectacular hostess, then don’t come here. My experience with my fiancée here was wonderful. The area has many public fishing spots and is a short drive from the nearest location that the gulf can be seen. I highly recommend visiting the Peaceful Pelican if you are needing a place to stay in Palacios.

A little pricey but it was a very nice visit. Theresa took great care of us the breakfast was above par and the bathtubs!!! I want one lol. If there is a reason for not giving 5 stars it is for the stairs. My one anxiety to make my stay not as peaceful as it could have been was the fear of one of my children or myself falling down the steep stairs.

It was a bit older of a place, but lovely! It was so relaxing and lived up to it's name if being peaceful. Did find it a little odd that the owner was away when we visited and left her friend (who had her own b&b about 3 doors down) in charge. Not sure if our positive experience was due to the loveliness or due to the positivity of the friend. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the uncertainty of the friend thing, lack of security, and the massive cockroach in our bathroom. Otherwise, it was a great visit.

This place is aptly named. I would have enjoyed spending the day there curled up with a good book. It has a roof deck that has a great bay view. It is welcoming and comfortable. Much of the decor was selected by a local historian.

Peaceful is the key word. Beautiful Gulf coast area and a seawall that wraps around for two miles just outside the door. And there really are pelicans, brown and white, along with fantastic bird watching. Breakfast was great w diet concerns taken seriously here. Healthy choices. Will be back as often as I can.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here at the Peaceful Pelican in Palacios, TX. Ms. Paula and Ms. Esmeralda gives excellent service and delivered our breakfast to our bedroom for my and my husband’s honeymoon. Ms. Paula helped us take care of laundry by letting us use the washer and dryer with complimentary wash detergent; then, she even folded our clothes when our laundry was finished drying. Is that top service or what?Ms. Paula is one-of-a-kind and has the gift of service and she serves others so joyfully. Ms. Paula is a great cook and prepares delicious meals every morning we stayed here with fresh food that tastes way better than continental breakfast. For New Year’s Eve, Ms. Paula brought my husband and I a tall sparkling red grape non-alcoholic juice cocktail which was perfect for the way my husband and I wanted to bring in the new year.I also appreciate the fresh flowers, tasty chocolate, fresh strawberries and berries Ms. Paula was so kind to deliver to my husband and I. Ms. Paula and Ms. Esmeralda gives the best room service. I appreciate their timeliness in serving us, too. You don’t have to wait long for your requests to be done at the Peaceful Pelican in Palacios, TX.If we had ten thumbs, my husband and I would give this place ten thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. The Peaceful Pelican in Palacios, TX is the best getaway for a married couple who wants to get away from the city life and experience a calm atmosphere with beautiful scenery and much serenity.
