I rarely review places but todays run in at this establishment was not a pleasant one. I hope management or the owners see this and fix the rude disrespectful employees they have working for them. I am doing a job out in Round Top and figured I’d stop to grab some drinks and ice for my guys. Walk up to the counter and the cashier says internet is out. I ask him if I can pay cash. He then proceeds to ask me” can I not see the sign on the door right in front of my face.” If you’re wanting customers to come in and buy stuff my suggestion would be not to be rude to the people giving you money. This wasn’t the first time I’ve been in there and the employees have been just flat out rude. Also walking out I heard several other people leaving this place that couldn’t believe how the employees (especially the front counter guy on the grocery side) was speaking to people willing to spend their money there. I will gladly drive an extra 15 minutes to La Grange to spend my money at an establishment that appreciates my business.

Has quite an inventory of items for a small grocery. Get there early if you want breakfast made in store items as they sell out quickly during markets. Man at the register could use some customer training as he seemed very agitated that he was doing all the work while the 2 other employees in the hardware store section were not as busy.

I was quite surprised the first time I went in as they have almost anything. Michael is the main man there, but they have a lot larger place than it looks like on the road. They have everything from a small grocery store to, now I understand, adding a lumber yard. They have supplies from fencing/farmwork/ lawnmowers/hardware,/ beer/drinks/ whatever. And, soon lumber. Even birthday/occasion cards. I can't believe it. You have to get by there at least once. Everybody is friendly and helpful. A true country store.

I haven't seen a place like this since I was a kid. Very cool. You can get everything from a frozen meal to a hot deli sandwich to a coffee pot to tools for your garage. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend a Texas sausage and cheese breakfast kolache as you look around.

Favorite place to stop in round top! People are so nice and they have all the groceries, hardware, and other odds and ends. I even got stuck im the mud checking a bee hive and called them and they sent someone to pull me out of the mud!! Best place ever!!

best kept secret in Central Texas! unless you're a local and Round Top or have reason to be there unless you're here for the quaint little village or there for one of the biannual antique shows that happens twice a year and now the new winter show in January, you would never know this place existed! It's a HomeTown Hardware Store attached to a grocery store with a deli that slices meat and makes homemade bread and serves excellent sandwiches from open to close! the grocery store boast of hand cut steaks and fresh produce!

This is a wonderful place . A great selection. Groceries, great meat, fresh produce, the best freshly made to order deli sandwiches plus a hardware store that always seems to have whatever I need. If clothing is requires stop in they have some of that also. Plus its the only place to get fuel in Round Top. Did I mention how friendly the people are who work there ? They truly appreciate your business. If I did not live 5 hours away I would shop here all the time.

I loved the location. We were in a cabin on the lake. But the upkeep of the place was not good at all. Spiderwebs and wasp nests were ALL OVER the outside of the cabin walls. There were no lights along the pathways leading to the cabin. The inside of the cabin could be really cute. But needs super cleaned and updates.

Everything in RoundTop is like going back to the time your grandparents were alive... We didn't stop here but went to several other places that were well kept up and we enjoyed looking at all the antiqies that were on sale. I can't imagine this place being any less than any of the others.

This establishment is full of regular customers and new ones; and each are treated with honor, respect. I, genuinely, appreciate the Texas politeness, especially from the Texas Gentlemen. When you're not originally from the South, trust me, it is refreshing to experience. Round Top Mercantile has food, a mini-delicatessen, snacks such as ice cream, pastries, candy, salty options, etc. Also, they offer hardware items and shoes, etc. Fill your tank, go to the restroom, and go explore Round Top or be on the road to College Station.

Sandwich “perfection.” Chuck in hardware is A#1 in my book. No wonder Rick Perry buys his nails here! Manager and all staff are the most down to earth human people you could meet. Rare.
